Our 14-year old LG washer gave up, and since we're in the process of moving back to our home county in a couple of months, we weren't too eager to buy a new one. I contacted Tech Service FIRST last week Sunday, and Vladimir came to diagnose the issue the next day. He was uncertain initially if the issue was due to a malfunctioning sensor (cost of repair: about $300) or faulty bearings (cost of repair: more than the cost of a new washer). We decided not to go ahead with the repair, and just pay the $70 diagnostic fee. However, the same evening, Vladimir texted that they were willing to try if replacing the sensor would fix the issue. If it didn't, we wouldn't have to pay anything. I think this was an amazing offer, and we gladly took it. The sensor needed to be ordered, which took a day, and Vladimir came back the day after he got the sensor. After installing it in the washer, the machine worked again, and we have washed several loads since without any issues. We're very happy with this very quick fix and with the offer to try the repair without any risk to us, since the alternatives would have been to buy a new washer, find a reliably used one, or do our laundry in the laundromat for our remaining time in the US. Everything was great! Easiest repair scheduling and repair experience I've had in a while. Scheduled for the same day, easy to schedule, fixed multiple problems with my dryer that had stopped heating (had to completely remove dryer front), dryer heats now, dryer no longer makes terrible sound. UPDATE: I really appreciate the thorough response. But ultimately, it came down to the fact that I wasn't presented with the option of clearing the blocked drainage, which has proven to be a long-term, inexpensive solution. The person that helped me cleared the blockage, and I have been using the A/C system since then with no problems. I know you say you checked it, but that was ultimately what resolved the problem for me, so the lengthy explanation does not explain why the simplest solution wasn't found and attempted. And even if it wasn't the ideal solution, it should still be presented... I haven't had any problems since the other technician cleared the blockage. The A/C has been working well for several months. Can you understand how I would have liked to be presented with that solution? Something that was inexpensive, and resolved the problems that I was experiencing? That being said, I respect you and your team, and I would definitely try to work with you again, and raise the rating if warranted. Thanks for your help. Outstanding first experience with Service First! My 10 year old LG washer was not draining properly. They answered my call right away and set up an appointment for the next day after reviewing their reasonable price system ($70 charge to come out but that goes toward any repair which averages about $200-$300 in most cases). Seemed reasonable. My tech Dima was on time and messaged me prior to arrival. He was very knowledgeable about the washer and dryer and after pulling things apart, determined I had a bad drain pump and showed me how it was failing. He replaced the pump, checked out the overall system and had the washer running and back together in about two hours. He also gave me some helpful tips on preventive maintenance for my dryer. And best of all, the total cost for the repair was $325. Very reasonable and no surprise charges. This was a 180 degree different experience from another appliance repair guy I've used in Austin in the past. Highly recommend HVAC & Service First and their tech Dima. It was refreshing to be treated and charged fairly for a a repair service like this. I will be calling them again for work at my properties. read more

Alex's team responded to my Yelp inquiry within minutes, and they were able to come out the same day my AC unit went out. Alex explained everything he was doing as he diagnosed the problem with our AC unit. It was a failed capacitor, and he was able to change it out on the spot. He also was able to measure the amount of freon in our system, and he needed to add more to improve our system. Afterwards, he came into the house to measure the temperature of the air coming out of the vents in my home to verify the problem was fixed. My experience with this company and with their technician, Amal, exceeded all expectations. Online scheduling was super easy. I scheduled my appointment after hours, but they were still able to send out a technician the very next day. The projected arrival window was just two hours, and they texted me when Amal was on the way - and he arrived close to the very beginning of the projected arrival window. None of this waiting around all day for the technician to show up - YEAH! Amal was SO nice and very friendly, explained everything to me very clearly, even showing me photos to demonstrate what he was talking about. He was just a true pleasure to work with. We ultimately decided not to repair our ancient fridge and instead purchased a new one, but this was certainly no fault of Amal's, who was super professional and really helped by giving us an honest repair quote, which is what we needed to make that decision. My LG washing machine drain pump broke friday afternoon so I went on yelp and requested companies do the repair. They responded within minutes offering to come the next morning at 8 am. The technician showed up on time and was very nice and resolved the issue. I did request them to give me a price before they proceeded with the repair but had to leave quickly so the miscommunication could have been on my end. I hardly ever leave reviews, but felt compelled since I found this business on Yelp. Originally, I called a local place to repair our Samsung washer, which was having balance issues for some time now. They had a $149.99 diagnostic fee and couldn't come until Friday (calling the Monday before). I googled "washer repair" and this company came up in the top results from Yelp. They had a $70 diagnostic fee that applies to your cost if you decide to have them do the repair, which I've found is pretty common. On top of that they insisted they could get someone out possibly the same day, and if not, for sure the next day. I was just fine waiting but he said someone could come between 4-6pm so I accepted. I got a text when our repairman was on the way, along with the name of who was coming. Kiryl was the one to service our washer. He explained VERY well what was wrong and it was a common problem. He said he thought he could repair it without having to replace the suspension parts. I was elated. He made sure I was comfortable with the pricing and asked if he should move forward with the repair. I accepted and he said to give him 20 minutes to fix. He worked fast and was so polite! He didn't even have to stay through the full spin cycle but he really wanted to make sure that the cycle completed. Another last thing I was super pleased with was that I could pay through an invoice online. I got a text soon after and was able to pay easily. My LG fridge stopped working Friday and the freezer had thawed out. I called Tech Service First Saturday morning and Kiryl came out in the afternoon to diagnose the problem which turned out to be a bad compressor. Luckily, they had one in stock and Kiryl was able to install on Monday afternoon. Turns out the LG had a class action suit due to their poor compressor design causing problems for many customers. They extended the warrantee for the compressor to 10 years. My fridge was over 10 years old and I did not have a receipt anymore so I could not make a claim to LG. Kiryl called me a week later to inform me that they contacted LG and about the compressor and that LG had agreed to refund the cost of the compressor. Tech Service First was returning $377 to my credit card. This was a nice surprise to be sure! I highly recommend Tech Service First for their quick excellent service, and professionalism. He was also very respectful of our home, and considerate in regard to keeping things tidy around him. We were most pleased with how fair the price was for all the time he spent on the diagnostics and repair. Fast forward 4 months, the problem recurred. Thank you very much to Vladimir who did a phenomenal job replacing our microwave. It ended up being quite an ordeal, and I appreciate that the three times someone had to come out it was him each time and he was very professional and patient. The first call was for a repair -- our microwave went on the fritz. He examined it and explained it was probably the logic board and the price for repair but that it may not fix it -- the microwave was from 2009. I decided to order a new microwave and above oven trim kit for new install. When it arrived, he came out to install it but the trim kit was severely damaged in the box and the old trim kit we had wouldn't fit the new model. The third trip was a success but our old cabinets gave him some trouble which required a custom fix to make sure the kit was level and could securely attach. Very, very much appreciated and happy to have a working microwave again after almost a month without! The finished work is beautiful, as well.
