Oleysa worked with us to understand what we wanted, created an initial plan, and modified it to suit our preferences. Her design sense is very high - how she arranges plants including their colors, sizes, and layering, their water needs, etc. Oleysa is extremely detailed and just knows so much about landscaping, plants, and practical plant care. She suggested plants that thrive in our local area, are visually interesting, and met our other criteria (low water, low maintenance). Many people may not think about the installation quality, but even a great design needs to be implemented - that's where Omar and his team come in. Omar is the best installer that we've worked with over the years. The design was perfectly executed. In fact, Omar actually left my existing landscape even better then it was before by extending irrigation to some existing plants. Also, there was some leftover compost and he took the initiative to spread it over some existing plants. Omar is also current with the latest irrigation tech such as flow indicators. Again, with much Prayers for God's Guidance, Directions we contacted for 3 Bids. One company with the initials of SL on Yelp great reviews was not a pleasant experience for us. They wanted Photos before they would even consider to bid. After much stress I did the photos, took the measurements as requested. I didn't expect them to come out to bid but they did and their bid was very high. I kept on praying and D&I Landscaping appeared and had great Yelp reviews. My initial reaction was Alyssa Torres was my first contact very personable and then we booked for Luis Blanco to come out to access our needs. No request for measurements or photos at all. Our job was easier only because my hubby knew what he wanted to have done and gave them his Vision and with their advice and help we tweaked a few things. Pavers is not an easy job especially when there's already Pavers installed, the guy I watched him and he was so methodical and kept placing Pavers down until he felt that he got the flow down and it was an amazing and challenging job but he did very well in my opinion. What we Love about D&I , is one of the owners Irving and their Designer Luis came over to meet with us. D&I doesn't charge for a Designer as some other companies do its part of their services. Irving, David, Luis and Alyssa and the entire Crew are so professional again this company was very Honest, Reputable, Hardworking and most of all they listen to our needs. One time our water spigot started leaking or spouting and we have this Project Group Text that they set up for us, all we do is text and within a few minutes David one of the owners showed up and turned it off while we were gone. They installed a water spigot that is easy for us to reach. They finished our Irrigation system along with installing a Rain Bird timer. It's hard to find a good honest company with Integrity but this company has it. Remember the company with the Initials SL think of S = a hard rock. Well... we had 3 bids which included backyard and front yard. When I called SL company and explained change of plans not doing the backyard she said oh, well that changes your front yard quote by 8 - 10% I was livid are you kidding me? No, it changes your price, the Lord quickly had me shut the door on this company bad feelings from the time I contacted them had to do measurements and photos. When the guy showed up,from SL, I told him you're young but you are passing on small jobs because you don't have time, let me tell you something passing on small job could lead you to something bigger, he was cordial and what was funny was after I went into the house he took measurements. When during our conversation I said how can you bid without taking measurements he replied because I've been doing this a long time really you're not even 40 Years old. D&I I contacted them to not include our backyard sent me a new quote penny for penny they just took off the back yard quote the front yard stayed the same. Honesty and Integrity goes a long way plus they don't charge us for a Porta Potty as SL did on our quote $250 for a Porta Potty folks she said unless you want the crew into your house to potty. I did let our Painters use our restroom which is fine they're in our house anyway and they were so professional and kind to us. To each its own. Looking for good Quality Work, a company with Honesty, Interity and a great ideas on your Landscaping this is the company and we had Carpenter Bees in one of our Post. David one of the owners worked really hard into the dark repairing it and he also placed the boulders back onto our neighbors lot for them. Irving drops by to check on the progress of our project. Who does all of these extras? D&I Landscaping give them a call for a quote no job too big or small for them. One of our neighbors hired them shortly after seeing them here at our house for over a week. This was not a simple backyard refresh--it was a large, complex project that included a bocce court, new soccer field, extensive pavers from front to backyard, a central walkway, custom lighting, retaining walls, a custom-pavered deck, large contemporary planters, turf, and many other details. What impressed us most was how professionally the entire project was managed from start to finish. The crew was on time every single day--we genuinely did not have a single missed day--and they kept a very large project moving and on schedule. They were also incredibly clean, and organized throughout the process. With a project this size, changes and upgrades inevitably come up. They handled that process extremely well. Everything was communicated clearly and, most importantly, we always felt the pricing and decisions were fair. There are always going to be ups and downs during a major construction project, and having a team you can trust when those things come up makes a huge difference. Another huge plus: they handled everything soup to nuts. I did not have to find or coordinate anything at all. They project-managed the entire job, which took an enormous amount of stress off us. They are both extremely professional and run a properly licensed firm with the necessary insurances, which gave us peace of mind given the scale of the work. I have worked with Darrick for a few years. While the service he initially implemented was good and…read moremet general expectations, I feel a lot of confusion and frustration regarding his communication style. This is not a one-time issue; throughout our interaction over the past few years, there has been a recurring pattern of him agreeing to a specific day or time to come by and then simply not showing up. This has happened quite a few times, with the most recent experience being the final straw. I first reached out in September 2025 regarding a sprinkler issue. After a no-show then, I followed up again in March 2026. Once again, he confirmed a timeframe to swing by, but never arrived and provided no follow-up to explain why. I have attached two snips of our message history here for reference. I have always tried to be patient, flexible, and polite, even offering additional fees to ensure his time was covered. If a professional finds a request unreasonable or is too busy, it is much better to simply say so. Instead, being 'ghosted' repeatedly makes it very difficult to plan or maintain a property. While I appreciate the work he has done in the past, the lack of reliability makes it hard to continue with his services.

We had a negative experience working with this company. Our paver patio is only a year old and it…read moreis falling apart. Our paver installation was a very choppy job where just after a few months our pavers turned dry, cracked, and shifted in many areas. We think that they were installed unevenly and without the proper support for the base. He has come back a few times to do "repairs" but the problem is the same.. the pavers keep cracking and shifting. When it rains our patio collects a bunch of puddles because it wasn't installed at a proper angle for drainage and so many of the middle pavers have sunk. Originally Darrick had said that he "wanted to make it right" and fix the patio but it takes him months to be available to come fix even the smallest things. Darrick also installed fresh sod with sprinklers but 3 of the corners have continued to die despite having even water coverage (per Darirck). Overall our lawn has grown very unevenly and it is very lumpy. It also has many different shades of green and different areas grow faster than others. He continuously blames the issues on my dogs urine and that we don't water it enough but the dog never goes on the corners where the grass keeps dying and we always water it based on his recommendations. We have been waiting for the second time since July and it is now the end of December and he has still not fixed it. Additionally, he will also leave his trash and supplies out in our yard for months at a time. Darrick is incredibly unprofessional because an honest contractor will come address the problems in a timely manner. He will not reply or make the proper repairs.
