At first, I loved that Greg was able to come out on a weekend for an emergency diagnostic on our rental property AC, even for an increased fee. I scheduled with his wife and asked if he could take some pictures for me since I wasn't in town, and have him explain to me what was wrong. She said he normally doesn't take pictures, but agreed that he could, and that he would call me after diagnosing the issue with a quote for work before starting any work. I heard from my tenants that he had diagnosed the issue within 30min, and was leaving the property. I called his wife, who forward him my number again, and I did get a call. He diagnosed the problem down to the capacitor and fan motor, and told me he'd already replaced the capacitor and quoted me for the motor to replace later in the week, since I wouldn't want to pay his rates to replace it on a Sunday. I asked how complicated the motor installation was, he became very defensive and everything went downhill from there. I kept my calm on the phone, but he continued to yell over the phone. He was overall unprofessional and unpleasant, and I was shocked at this sudden trigger response. When I asked for the pictures and diagnostic description his wife had promised when I scheduled originally, he just told me that he's the boss and he's not sending me pictures, he's charging me the emergency diagnostic fee, and he's not doing anything else. I don't recommend hiring anyone who has a temper that flares up so fast when asking about work he's proposing to perform, and cannot be professional. read more

We had Greg replace and install a new A/C unit three years ago and his price was VERY reasonable and work was completed in just 1 1/2 days during summer- so having our A/C up and running was super important. His work ethic was above reproach. Recently our A/C unit stopped blowing cold air so we called Greg since our previous experience was so positive. He was able to come THE SAME DAY and it turned out to be a small part that had stopped working properly. Totally understandable after three years. While Greg was here, we asked him to also look at our heater, since we are planning on selling our house soon and it seemed to not work well this past winter. Do not hire this guy for your air and heating issues. He might seem nice but I had a simple issue and he was rude and disrespectful to me. As i was explaining the issue, he interrupted me several times and degraded me saying "maybe there was a ghost". I am a patient person but kicked him out. Greg came out for emergency service as my heater was out. He gave me a one hour time window for his arrival (which was only one hour away from when I called in the request) and he showed up within the first 15 minutes of that window. He quickly resolved the problem which was a stuck inducer. Now at this point he could have charged me the trip fee, plus a fee to repair the time and took off. Instead he spent time with me explaining how to diagnose a problem like this on my own, how the heater worked, and pointed out a couple things I could do to improve the sealing of my filter. In the end he only charged me the emergency hours trip fee and did not charge me for the 45 minutes he spent at my home giving me tips on how to optimize my heater/AC system. He was very friendly. Excellent job! He was right here at the beginning of the time frame I was given. Quickly checked my unit, found tripped switch. Not only fixed it, but taught me what to do if it happens again. During this last heat wave, my home AC unit stopped putting out cold air. This was Saturday 06/17/2017. After realizing that we were going to have more very hot weather, I decided to call an AC repair business. On Monday 06/19/2017, I phoned Greg Fitch Heating & Air Inc. about mid afternoon and left a message. At about 4:30PM I received a return call. After explaining my situation to the polite and understanding lady on the phone, I was told that Greg would be able to look at my unit between 9:00AM and 11:00AM on Tuesday 06/20/2017. Greg was at my home at 9:00AM and began checking the unit. Within a short period of time, and after replacing a component on the compressor, he had the unit up and running. Greg was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time to explain to me how I could make my unit more efficient and probably extend the life of the unit. I made an appt for a bid on adding AC to my central heat unit. Very informative and valuable appointment with Greg Fitch. He assessed my home and needs and use of heat and air. Advised me how to get the best performance out of my heating system, informed me of AC options available, and actually advised me the best bang for my buck was to replace some single pane windows and stay with the cooling system I have in place. The information was clearly most helpful to me and was not focused on selling me his particular product or service. I will hold onto this gentleman's card for sure.
