I always come to Gregory's if I ever need to get some work done while enjoying my coffee. I like that they have reliable wifi, bathroom and located at convenient locations downtown close to major attractions. However, as was the case for may other Gregory's around the city, the place tend to be crowded with high traffic, the tables are too small (enough for a laptop and nothing else) and outlets are not numerous enough for all patrons. Even still, I will come back for Gregory's because it is one of the rare cafes that allows me to sit and do work when I'm downtown. read more

Better late than never! I am becoming professional critic for restaurants, companies, and local businesses. My experience at each Gregorys Coffee varies! From location to location staff are unique, kind, and great at what they do! However, at this location the Store Manager Stephanie, The Assistant Manager Ryan, and the rest of the staff are amazing! Mainly getting foot traffic during the work hours. It's a spacious place for a business meeting, group meet ups, working from your laptop for freelance or writing a undergraduate or graduate paper! Aside from the coffee being bad and overpriced, the staff's terrible attitude and blaring music made this place unbearable. As you can see from the "owner's" responses below to every negative feedback the answer is exactly the same. "We hope you can give us another shot on a future visit". It's a pre-written response. If this person actually cared, he would cater a personal response to each negative review and write something normal like "we'll talk to our team "or "we'll work this out better for you" or "we'd like to offer you something" etc. When you have a bad owner and a bad manager, the staff will be bad too because nobody in this place cares.nobody says hello. Nobody makes eye contact with you. They're rude and short and dismissive. The music is blaring at all hours of the day and everyone complains about it and they don't lower it. They also have no phone number and if you try and connect with corporate you only have the option to text with more people who dont care-and that's if they even respond. Stopped by one morning prior to starting work for a coffee and a pastry. I must say, they move quickly here! The staff at the front desk was friendly and gladly warmed my pastry of choice (chocolate brownie). I also decided to get a medium iced latte which mainly had the espresso within it. Had to add my half and half milk on my own. This was fine cause I decided to throw in some cinnamon powder at the top of my drink. Although it's a bit pricey, a trip to grab a coffee and a pastry is worth it. I've returned here once after my first visit and I'm certain that I'll return sooner than later. read more

I mainly come here in the mornings before early start to the work day. Their January promotion got me in the door and I keep on coming back! (If you're new to Gregory's coffee, use the Levelup app with them to pay for your food/drink, and get $10 in credit!) I like their regular coffee (I get the large coffee with some room for milk) - it has notes of hazelnut, chocolate and cherry apparently. Also, I have enjoyed their lattes. Wow! I use to be so excited that there was another coffee chain that I could like since every street corner was already dominated with Starbucks. Boy was I surprise to find that this chain is even worse. I ordered a $7 avocado toast. And I know it's so expensive compared to making it at home. But I was out and about with my 11 month old and there is only so much he can eat. But wow for $7, I got the thinnest spread of a avocado....which I saw came from a tub. God knows how long that avocado has been kept in the fridge. For the THINNEST already of avocado in history, I felt so jipped and in shock that anyone would sell that. Please don't insult your customers and even bother to sell this garbage and call it avocado toast. As for the coffee, I ordered a cold brew with oats milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Tasted like all cinnamon which was just gross. I will never go to a Gregory coffee over a Starbucks again. At least they don't try to sell me avocado toast for $7! read more

I usually go over to the location on 66 and Lexington, but I was closer to this location after going to the gym and I wanted a place to just chill and study. There is a lot of seating, which is often lacking in many coffee places in the city. However, it's a bit loud to do work in my opinion. The coffee was delicious (I got it black, which is always a good marker)! However, I tried the new vegan donut and it was very hard and oily. It was good when I dipped it in the coffee, but terrible on its own--I wouldn't get again. Disappointed because I don't eat much dairy and I'm always on the hunt for good vegan dessert. If you're planning to sit, make sure you ask for your drink to stay; everything tastes better in a mug than in a paper cup. The tables are very small and round, like other Gregory's locations. They're fine for resting your cup, but awkward if you want to write, use a laptop, or sit across from someone. There's a communal table in the back, but only a few of the seats are within cord-length to an outlet. The table is slightly too high for someone of average height be comfortable typing or writing for an extended period of time. read more

I had high expectations for this place so it ended up falling a little short but I wouldn't say that it's bad. I got the iced Dirty Chai and I thought it was delicious! Very thirst-quenching and bold in flavor. I've never had dirty chai before and I thought this was a great place to try it out. I also got a Caramel Macchiato for my best friend and a Banana nut pound cake, which I found to be alright, a little too nutty for my liking. All of this was $13, which I would say is overpriced but I think the quality makes up for it. Service was meh, not as friendly and helpful as most reviews here make it to be but I think it's because the guy who was preparing my order just started working here. I came in this morning wanting an açai bowl, they're no longer available here. So I went with a smoothie instead. Due to some dental issues (mandible fractures and wiring that is insanely painful when exposed to cold drinks) I haven't been able to have ice in my drinks/smoothies for about 4 years. I requested my smoothie without ice, which doesn't seem to have posed an issue before, anywhere-- usually volume is made up with a little additional produce/ingredients or at the very least, milk. This is what I got. So just so y'all know-- half the smoothie volume at Gregories is just ice "for volume"-- per their staff on their presentation of this sad mess, to me. Smoothie cost $8.00-- $4.00 worth of ice. Don't come here. Directly across the street from this location is a deli that makes amazing smoothies for several dollars cheaper, with fresh produce and zero issues. I'm not a coffee drinker but have tried there hot matcha drink and Iced glow up. Both were very good! If there is a line, it moves quickly. Hillary was very helpful to me when I was deciding to get something new which led me to the glow up . Med ice glow up is beet, collagen peptides and nut milk. Very refreshing! Stopped by before work and this is a greaaat place to just do work with a cup of coffee. The atmosphere is very clean and open and there is A TON of seating all over. It's not too loud, and everyone's just minding their own business, almost like a more chill Starbucks. The iced latte I got was a little too thick for my liking, but it could be because I opted for Soy milk. I can't lie: I've pretty much been counting down the days until this Gregorys location opened, and today was finally the day! Located in what was formally an upscale drug store, bottles of vitamins and pills have replaced with coffee beans and luscious pastries. Until I entered, I didn't realize how far back the storefront went! While there is plenty of communal seating in the front, there is also ample seating in the rear, thank goodness. Though not a coffee drinker, I have been a fan of their chai lattes and teas for ages; an old friend that had a three-week tenure as a barista at one of the original locations downtown (haha) used to make me a mean dirty chai. I might have to get back into the habit of occasionally downing one. ;-) Coffee and tea options are surprisingly limited around these parts, with that Starbucks on 69th and 1st only opening about three or so years ago. As my love for Starbucks wains and I find myself rarely going there even *habitually* anymore, Gregorys provides an amazing alternative to this neighborhood with excellent drinks, pastries, and "to go" bites, the latter which are located near the front door. I'm sure that a lot of hospital workers, visitors, and neighborhood folks alike will soon fill this place to the brim. Finally they opened their location on first avenue between 68th and 69th! I've heard a lot of great things about their coffee and never got the chance to go since it was far from where I work but now they are right up the block! They have a great cold brew and an awesome latte! I'm slowly working my way through their coffee menu. Gregory's has a really nice spacious modern decor that creates a relaxing environment. It's a nice place to do some work and sip on some awesome coffee. They have long communal benches in the front they have hooks for your bags! And smaller tables in the back. Their service is great and the staff is friendly. If you're not craving coffee they also offer smoothies, teas, and hot chocolate. Make sure you get the Rice Chex squares early though because they sell out very fast along with a lot of their other pastries. This location also has a ton of places to sit and eat or even study. There are small round tables and a large table for whichever you prefer to study, eat, or socialize in. If you're going to any Gregory's Coffee, you should download the app because they will send you emails for deals like bonus points, etc. For every $50 you spend, you get $5 in credit. Drinks at Gregory's are a little more expensive than Starbucks, but you hit that $5 credit fast and it all breaks even in the end. read more

Gregory's offers a variety of drinks and baked goods on the run. Typically, one would stop at Starbucks and put in a quick coffee order, but I feel that the employees and the quality of the drinks is good. They also have Gregory's merchandise which is adorable, and overall the shop is fairly clean for a New York shop. I didn't like the other employees sitting on the floor and socializing while a single guy was managing the whole coffee bar and the line at the same time. The unprofessionalism of the over employees is why I have to give them a lower rating, as the area is very competitive in terms of drinks/coffee on the go. read more

The cold brew is great and not totally full of ice. I have the app and the scanner thing actually works. They have 2 vegan options: the vegan bar which is mehh and $3 and the almond chia pudding which is ok. But hey, no other coffee shops on the block have anything vegan so I'll take it. The service is really friendly. I do think the "condiment"/lids/straw bar is in a really weird spot though and I hope they move it.
