I visit Gregorys regularly and always enjoy their coffee, so I stopped by this location today expecting the same smooth experience. I had enough G's in my account for a free drink, pulled up my loyalty card, and scanned it at the register. The employee told me I didn't have any rewards, even after I physically showed him the points on my screen. I was still told I had none. Since they wouldn't honor the points in‑store, I ended up placing a mobile order and redeemed them online instead. Not the best customer service moment, especially when the rewards were clearly visible. That said, the coffee was great as always, which is why I keep coming back. I loved coming here as their coffee and baked goods are delicious but lately it's been inconsistent. We were walking our way to the Empire State Building and needed our evening caffeine, so we stopped to try Gregory's Coffee, and it did not disappoint. Coffee tasted so good. I like this location near the 49th street N, W train. It's convenient and although adjacent to Times Square it's not chaotic in the area and most trains are located in the vicinity. There's a good deal of customer traffic due to the area and Broadway plays but it's worth stopping by for a treat. There's minimal seating and standing tables as well. It is on the smaller side, but nice and cozy, and the food is good. The portions are great. I like the handwriting touch with our names on the cups with the chalk look. I've been to a few of the locations. Downtown DC is my favorite but one thing that holds true to all is the great service. Nicely lit, great menu and easy to read, plus it's always clean with timely service with the traffic the location gets. read more

Wanted to try out different coffee shops while in NYC and today, I got to check out Gregory's coffee located in Times Square. It was conveniently located near the hotel I'm staying and was only about a 15 minute walk. Service was good. Right when I walked in, I saw their cold brew drink menu and ordered the salted caramel cold brew. It is made with oat milk, cold brew and salted caramel. It was definitely on the sweeter end, but still tasty. This coffee shop also has pastries and different types of baked goods on their menu including vegan options. read more

i was traveling with some friends in NYC last week and only drink decaf coffee. During my last visit I stumbled upon this location and enjoyed an iced decaf latte; was hoping to do the same. One of my friends wanted Starbucks so we went in there to get her coffee and I didn't order anything because I was heading to Gregory's on the next corner. I chose what I wanted from their new fun fall menu and placed my order. I was told, "the decaf machine wasn't working"! Then the unpleasant worker said, " I can make it on this machine but it will take 5 minutes." I wasn't pressed for time, just strolling along the city on a beautiful Friday afternoon BUT was obviously putting this worker out of her way because I have a sensitivity to caffeine. You can get a really nice matcha latte here. Staff is friendly and quick. Seating at this location is very limited so don't plan to sit here with a laptop, nursing a drink for a few hours - people will want those seats! While there are gluten free options, they share the pastry case with gluten containing items - some even touching the pastries next to them, which renders them no longer gluten free. When I first walked in, I was greeted pretty nicely by the young man at the front desk, and the overall environment was very clean and orderly. Well I do appreciate all these things, I would not say I was amused by the small matcha lemonade I paid for. This lemonade was 6 whole dollars and tasted like utter trash. I tried the vegan deluxe sandwich for $6.95. It is a vegan egg, beyond sausage, and vegan cheddar on a croissant. High in calories at 520, but good for a filing lunch/snack on the go. The sandwich is heavy and maybe not the healthiest thing to order, but surprisingly decent in flavor. Probably not something I'd get often due to the calories, but good on occasion. The carrot raisin pound cake was a little drier than I hoped it would be, but the flavor of the loaf was quite delicious. Coupled with the apple cider cold brew, we had the perfect fall-time treat to satisfy us through Hamilton until dinner time. I was looking to grab a cup of coffee before a Broadway show when I stumbled upon this Gregorys Coffee location. It's on the corner of W 50th St and 7th Ave, directly next to the Applebee's; a busy area, but also a convenient place to put a coffee shop. I ordered an Americano - nothing fancy - and the Night Vision espresso they used in the drink was very smooth. This Gregorys Coffee has a few tables and chairs, making it a good spot to sit and people watch while eating or drinking. I wouldn't recommend working here though, as there isn't a lot of space. I was there relatively late in the day, about an hour before closing, but I didn't feel rushed at all. I don't have anything bad to say about the service either. I stopped in here after seeing a play. It was a cold day. There were two counter workers there. One ringing orders and the other making the orders. The lady was nice and cordial about taking my drink order. I had a question about my beverage and she answered it promptly and with no attitude. They were asking for proof of vaccination if you intended to dine in but we were doing takeout that day. Our beverages were ready within minutes and we left a tip for the kind service shown to us. I thought the first barista was incompetent when he filled up the grade #1 plastic cup with boiling hot coffee before putting ice in it. I quietly threw it away without making a scene. The second time today is ridiculous. The cup was literary melted. All the plastic chemicals are in the liquid. I will be disputing both orders for food and safety complaint. read more
