They literally inspired me to floss regularly and incorporate old school wax floss on occasion to really eradicate plaque. Dr. Gretchen: she's simply the best dentist I've ever had. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. Every single person from check in to check out was so nice and welcoming, they explained each step to me in detail and Dr. Gadwood took the time to walk through my concerns and how their office would approach it. Full disclosure - I've known Gretchen long before she was a dentist. *That* said, I'm one of those people who aren't great at dental care, and for decades, when I was employed, I went to a dentist whose office was one block from where I lived. Convenient yes, but that dentist's bedside manner left much to be desired and I *hated* my appointments. Fast forward to 5 months ago, and being employed again and needing long overdue dental work, I decided to scout for a new dentist, despite finding out the one I avoided had retired from that office. After attempting to do some online research, which was awkward, because how do you really learn what a dentist's people skills are online?, I remembered that Gretchen, my old friend/classmate, was a dentist back near where I grew up. That basically cinched the decision, as Gretchen is super friendly and thoughtful, honest but tactful, exactly the underrated soft skills I was looking for from a dentist. With the covid-19 pandemic going on, I was very worried about going to the dentist. But Dr. Gadwood's staff all made me feel very comfortable and my appointment went smoothly. Sherry the receptionist listened and addressed my concerns about safety, and per my request she booked me the earliest Monday appointment time slot. Kristen the hygienist was very kind and considerate, she described what they changed in the cleaning process to minimize splashing and water droplets, to keep everyone safe. There are air filters set up in each room. Then Dr. Gadwood was very efficient and did not keep me waiting too long, something I worried bc of covid and it's not like we can wear a mask for the appointment, so I felt very exposed and vulnerable. Each member of the staff is lovely and they make you feel like you're at home and that they really care about you and your health. Something new that I discovered this last year is that they offer an in-house low-cost insurance plan for folks that either don't have regular coverage or have limited coverage (which is the case for my partner). I had just had a total knee replacement 3 weeks earlier and I started with a killer tooth ache! You aren't kept waiting for your appointment like other doctors offices. You are taken to your appointment on time without waiting from appointments being overbooked.
