GriDelis- supposed to be where a classic grill meets a traditional deli. The (wide variety of) burgers are big and fresh, but the deli part I've never been a fan of so i haven't tried anything off of it. The burger toppings and overall menu is huge. The fries are frozen thick cut variety, but still good, and the fry sauce is tasty. I ordered the Greek gyro/chicken combo bowl, and it was basic box rice, two small pita slices (like 1/2 of a pita for a huge bowl of rice/meat). The chicken was dry and gyro meat was frozen pre sliced type. I really enjoy good gyro meat sliced off of the spit like Crown Burgers does, and this is definitely not that. With such a huge menu, certain things will suffer for freshness (aka frozen products) in order to add variety. One time I asked of they had shakes (you know, burgers, fries and shakes right?) and the guy laughed in my face and said no. Seemed a reasonable request, but who knows. Seating area (for this location, unsure on S. Ogden spot) is standard table and booths, but there are many big flat screens showing ESPN, sports games, etc to relax and watch while you wait and eat. Disappointed because I've eaten at the other location. The staff wasn't friendly and the food was plain and very tasteless. My big nasty burger was big but very tasteless. Fries were great and the fry sauce was good but I will only eat at the South Ogden location in the future. read more

Was craving a philly cheesesteak and I came to the right place! Was close to the hotel I was staying at and I liked the menu so stopped by for a to go order. Got a philly and some ranch fries and got a free drink for checking in with yelp! Cheesesteak was delicious and filling saved leftover for lunch! By far the tastiest burger and fries I have had in Utah, that is saying a lot, because Crown Burger is hard to beat. I had the mushroom bacon burger, can't remember what it was called. But there is not a juicer better tasting burger out there. Order extra fry sauce, and if you have extra left, swim in it, rub it on your body like lotion, use it as beard oil, whatever it is so good i want it everywhere on me. People think i'm a sloppy eater and leave fry sauce on my beard on accident, nope, no accident there, fry sauce everywhere, thats the way i like it. First time here, and it was hard to decide what to get. Went with the Philly Cheese Steak, since that is a favorite sandwich of mine. It would have been very good except for one thing: the cheese. Tasted like the same "processed" melted cheese that Arby's puts on their French Dip sandwich. Really? The bread was great; the meat, onions and peppers were very good; If only they used "sliced-off-the-brick" Swiss cheese, then this would have been a great sandwich. My brother has been telling me how good Grideli's is for a while now and today we happened to be nearby. He was right! So good! I got the pastrami sandwich, my husband got the flying buffalo. Both were great! I especially love the bread it's served on, soft and delicious with a nice crust, very fresh. We also got the ranch fries and loved them! DO NOT PUT IN A CATERING ORDER AT THIS LOCATION. The assistant manager is a complete idiot. I put in a catering order for 40 breakfast burritos on A Tuesday for a scheduled pick up for Friday at 7:30 pm. He emailed me the invoice for $248 which I paid right away. I went to pick up my order on Saturday as planned and guess what. He didn't have my order. I explained to him what I ordered and even showed him the email confirmation for my paid receipt and he was not at all apologetic. I asked him if he could make the order right now and I would pick it up later that night and he said no we don't have the potatoes. I can reschedule it for another day. Apparently he doesn't understand how catering orders work. Reschedule it for another day. Idiot. I need it now not another day. Long story short. I called Betos and they took my order right away and saved the day. Betos is open 24 hours and their burritos are way better anyhow but yes they are a little mores expensive but it is worth paying more to be able to get your order and actually have it ready. I will never eat at Gridellis ever again. read more

I LOVE the food. I have been a loyal customer for years, but have never been treated worse in a restaurant than I was at the North location today. The man taking the orders- I believe it was the manager-was extremely passive-aggressive as I placed an order. He then became rude and abrasive as I waited. He yelled at several other customers as they tried to place orders. I can't think of a single instance where being yelled at while trying to place an order is acceptable. Sadly, it will be quite some time before I will feel comfortable setting foot in a Grideli's again. read more

Biggest turn off is seeing the garbage thrown out the back door and black drippings stained on the cement and gutter. You can see it from the freeway. Not a great billboard might I say. Everytime we drove by I thought it was disgusting even before I even knew of the place...then oddly I ended up eating there and enjoyed it. The pulled pork is my favorite! This place is a good stop for a semi quick lunch. They are mainly known for their burgers and those seem to be a good choice. I usually opt for the large souvlaki bowl which comes with gyro meat and chicken, rice and a wedge of pita bread. The tsaziki sauce is super good. read more

Normally I would give this place a 4 star rating, i've eaten there many times and its been great. My favorite is the Cajun Chicken Philly, its ridiculously good. But...it only takes one bad experience to change someones mind. I had been talking this place up to my family for a while, and we finally got all together and attempted to go there last night. The door says they close at 9:00 (see picture in gallery) as does the hours here, and we got there at 7:45, only to be told that it was a slow night and that they already shut off the grill. They also stated that they closed in a few minutes (I'm guessing they meant 8:00). So they decided to say no to a lot of first-timers (i.e.potential repeat customers), $100 sale, and upset a current customer over an hour before they are set to close. Why?! To me this is unacceptable for a business in such a tough market. Not only did we go there to spend over $100 on food for a group of people, I don't think I can convince my family to even attempt to try it again because of the staff. It just makes me sad because the food can be so good. I'll have to stick with Grideli's South for lunch on occasion to get my Cajun Chicken Philly fix. Jared L. Fantasticly delicious! This is truly gourmet pizza! They don't skimp on the toppings like most places! The sausage meatballs on their Macho Meat are honestly about an inch in diameter! Who does that! My husband and I tried the Souvlaki bowl tonight. The gyro meat was fine, but the other meat, which I suppose was chicken, was totally rotten. We had to pick it all out. My husband called to let them know it was bad and the person he talked to denied that it could be bad. I guess he was offended. We didn't call because we expected anything, we just wanted them to know it was bad and didn't want anyone to get sick. We got the impression that nothing would be done.
