This HAS been our go to spot even though it was kind of far and during the afternoon a bit tough to get into, but the food was worth it. I put up with un clean and sticky tables and it also being pretty hot inside. Today was the last straw. There was chewing gum inside my onion rings bag, yes, chewed gum. I saw one of the workers eating fries from the fry prep rack. I told the manager the guy with the bald head and mustache and he said "oh, sorry" That was it no offer of refund nothing. He looked at me like I had placed the gum there. I could go on but what's the point, I am sure nobody at that place cares. My friend and I went after another friend's bridal shower. It was a quick stop on our way back to SLC. The service wasn't all that great... younger kids who might need a little more customer service training. I had to get their attention and ask if they were closing because they hadn't even acknowledged us after walking in and standing there a few minutes, and they continued wiping down the counters. The place was hole-in-the-wall feeling and felt a little older and kind of worn down. The high school memorabilia was a nice touch. The food was okay, and I'm glad they were able to lettuce wrap my burger. The fries were a little mix of decent and overcooked. The Mrs. and I were in a mood for burgers, and this was the closest local shop. In we went. I got the pastrami burger, she got the gyro sammich. I got fries to share. So, the pastrami burger was on point. Lots of meat, good flavor, I chowed down and was happy. My wife said the gyro needed to taste more like a gyro, whatever that means, but she said it wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. The fries were excellent. Their fry sauce was way too sweet, but the fries themselves were good enough that they didn't need a dipping sauce. All in all, a good place. I used to really love this place. I come here all the time but I think I've come for the last time. The fry sauce is delicious and their fries are very good! However, their burgers aren't as good as they once were, and their lack of cleanliness is concerning. Their tables, even during covid, are terribly sticky and gross. I feel like things should be extra clean at a time like this. When I asked an employee for a rag to wipe down my table, he handed me a very gross rag with food all over it. I asked for a clean one and his boss noticed and had him go clean the table but when he cleaned it, he did such a quick wipe down that he skipped right over the sticky area. I would have moved tables, but they pretty much all looked like that. So I cleaned it with my water and napkins. I hope that things start looking up for these guys. They used to be a favorite. It's a typical order at the window, get a number, get your food. No server. Which it just fine by me. My gyro was fabulous. Taziki sauce was perfect and thick, like it should be. The fries are straight cut thick fries, but they are cooked to a perfect golden crisp. Oh fry sauce, how do I love thee? Restaurant was slow, so it was quiet. We only ordered a burger combo and chicken sandwich combo. Waiting is fine as long as the food is good but...we weren't impressed. The chicken sandwich tasted like it had been fried in fish oil. I got 2x bacon cheese burgers and two kids burger meals. They weren't huge or mind blowing yet it cost between $40-$50. What. Also the place was pretty gross, some of the booth seats look like they still have stains from the 90s. I will never go back. This place is surviving purely off the nostalgia of locals. The food is lacking flavor.. The burgers were alright. Nothing special about them. The onion rings were a great size and had the perfect crisp, but they have NO flavor!
