Amazing night at griffins in Brea. Free parking just around the corner. The place itself is BEAUTIFUL! they have a singer Tuesdays and Thursdays which just made the ambience even better. Such a classy place. The food was delicious! We had the meatballs, burrata, potatoes and rib eye. We cleaned every single plate. The drinks were absolutely delicious and unique as well. Definitely will be back/ thank you to the whole crew!

After reading the reviews, while in town visiting for work, we stopped by for dinner. The patatas bravas were absolutely incredible and addicting as were the Brussels. The patatas bravas come with two sauces that really compliment each other so well so make sure you get a bite of both! During our appetizers, the Chef or Owner came out and told us we had to try the oxtail. I am not the most adventurous eater but my colleagues were down so we ordered it. Although we were warned about the smell, it was truly so potent that I couldn't enjoy my meal because it was all I could smell. One colleague was brave enough to try it and said it was good but the rest of us couldn't get past the smell. There's something with fish paste in the sauce or marinate- I'm not explaining it well but my goodness is the smell off putting! We ate outside but I did pop in and use the restroom and there was live music even on a Tuesday evening. Interesting spot and would definitely recommend for a unique dining experience. Staff was all very friendly and helpful.

We were blown away by this amazing restaurant. From the staff, to the ambiance, to the drinks and to the food! We had absolutely no complaints or critiques on anything. Our server, Lauren R. was phenomenal. She checked on us often, made recommendations and really made sure we enjoyed everything. The manger also checked in on us and it was a nice touch to see how much they love and care for the place. They make all their food from scratch in house and you can tell by the quality and flavors how much passion they put into it. Every dish was a highlight for us and our absolute favorites were the Tagliatelle, Oxtail & Ribeye. The Tagliatelle was very creamy, rich and the pieces of braised beef ragu gave it that extra touch of saltiness. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, it cut like butter and melted in your mouth like butter. The steak comes with a side of broccolini which was cooked al dente and had a nice bite with garlic infused flavor. DONT SKIP THE OXTAIL! It was so tender that it fell off the bone, had a small kick with the Thai chilis and with a side of rice, it was a winner. For dessert we had the Whipped Chocolate Budino, it was like a thick chocolate custard with espresso cookie crumble, a nice way to end the meal. I did enjoy a Valentine's Day special drink, Cupid's Cup which came with a bow to hold the garnish. It was sweet with a slight tangy twist from the lemon. The Carajillo was strong (no complaints there) and had a good mixture to it. We will return!

Ribeye steak, the sides change they used to have brocollini and now its asparagus so no guarantee it will look like this

Food and drinks were delicious but a little over priced. Its a super cute and romantic restaurant. The service was good our server was very attentive.

AMBIANCE (3/5): **LIVE MUSIC ON THURSDAY NIGHTS ** The lady who sang was AMAZING! It was slightly too loud though. Especially if you want to be able to talk to the people at your table. But love that they have live music and that it's great! FOOD (5/5): This rating is based on the dish I had today. A year later from my last review when they opened. Ive visited in between, but the dish I had today was SO GOOD - YOU MUST ORDER IT! $32 OXTAIL: seems boring, just oxtail. But boy did it deliver! It's fall off the bone, is seasoned with Asian flavors (I tasted some fish sauce), a little bit of spice from the Thai chilies. An EXCELLENT DISH! Served in a unique way. I loved everything about it. I recommend ordering a side of rice (I didn't because I was going carb-less, but it definitely would complement it). $8 SIDE OF BROCCOLI: this was a BIG PORTION! Perfectly cooked and seasoned with crispy onions of some sort. Delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TRIES THE OXTAIL. TRUST ME! SERVICE (5/5): I sat at the bar and ate by myself. My ONLY complaint is that the bar is SO TALL & the chairs are TOO SHORT. I'm already short, but it was hard to eat at the bar. I sadly wouldn't sit there again due to the uncomfortable-ness. Bartender was 10/10! I wish I caught his name so I could give a shout out. He was amazing (& I didn't even order a drink lol).

Really liked this place - ordered the Wagyu Burger and Short Ribs, and both were delicious! Also ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Caesar Salad and Patatas (Potatoes) Bravas -- so yummy and filling ... did not leave room for their dessert. They have a fun bar area, service was excellent, and there is a free parking garage across the street. Menu changes seasonally, so great place to come back to try other menu items.

Located in downtown Brea. I found parking in the lot behind the restaurant, but there's also free parking at the structure directly across the street. There was live music on a weekday night, and the singer performed all evening, she was amazing! She's also able to perform any song by request too! Every dish I tried was DELICIOUS and full of FLAVOR. The waiter mentioned all syrup and sauces from the bar and kitchen was house made (except for the ketchup). That explains why everything had a unique distinct flavor. Yellowtail hamchi crudo- the waiter presented the dish and finished it with a citrusy sauce . The fish was incredibly fresh with a slight crunch from the other ingredients that added great texture. 10/10 so so good! Oxtail- heard they're known for their oxtail so I had to try it. It's tender and was easy for the meat to fall off the bones. They recommended to order with a side of rice. It was so tasty even without rice. 10/10! Tagliatelle- pasta with braised beef ragu. i cant quite put my finger on the exact flavor, but somehow it was unique and worked really well with the pasta and beef. Again, food is so good 10/10! Kentucky Heat- a very well crafted bourbon cocktail. the fire tincture really gave the drink an oomph! 10/10 Cafe martini w/ tequila- first sip tasted like diluted coffee. I didnt taste the tequila or a strong "cafe" but the alcohol was definitely there . I make my own espresso martinis at home so this was 8/10 Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes.

Food was flavorful, their menu is seasonal and is suggested as shareable tapas style, service is excellent they can answer any questions you have, the ambience I feel is classy , the lighting is subtle great place to take a date if you want to get a little fancy . Overall it's a great place to eat .

The food here was really good. Enjoyed the presentation of each dish as well as the unique taste of each. What I recommend the most was the loup de mer, a perfectly cooked white fish filet set upon squid ink pasta. I also think the Caesar salad and the yellowtail crudo were great for starters. The oxtail was prepared a little differently than I'm used to so I would not likely order it. I like when the meat is tenderly cooked and falls off the bone. Overall, the service is friendly and helpful. Enjoy a dinner here for a date night as the interior looks modern and romantic.

My husband and I came here for my birthday tonight and the food and service were excellent! The yellowtail crudo had the best citrus sauce ever, the skirt steak was flavorful, the shrimp tacos were delicious, and the chocolate budino was so tasty. Our server was terrific and the owner even gave us a shot of his favorite Trujillo tequila! Everyone was so nice. My husband met a few of the friendly regulars at the bar (shoutout to Paul) before dinner and felt very welcome. We parked easily in the free parking garage structure across the street. Whether you're coming here for a nice dinner, or just looking for a great meal before or after a comedy show down the block, you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely come back.

Meatballs, not so spicy marg, and passionfruit lemonade

Good service and decent portions! I really enjoyed the brussels sprouts. They were very flavorful on its own and i didnt think the sauces on the side were needed. I also liked the meatballs, but it was nothing too special. Drinks were delish. However, i wouldnt get the following food items again. 1) clams and chorizo - my bf and i were intrigued so we got this. It didnt taste bad, but the flavors didnt blend well together. Our clams were not cleaned well... 4 of the clams we ate had quite a bit of sand :( also all the clam sizes were inconsistent and some of our clam shells didnt have any clams at all, after searching the entire dish for them 2) caesar salad - i normally LOVE caesar salad, but the dressing didnt taste much like caesar. It was still a yummy salad - very refreshing, light, and filling. However, the dressing didnt taste like caesar. Overall, everything was decently priced! I would come back to try other food items. I think we mightve picked not so great options this time around. Also, their ice cream is just store bought and has frost bite (our ice cream was more icy than creamy)

Food was good and delicious but I do think it's more on the expensive side of pricing for the amount you get. Service was fantastic, our server was very attentive to us and explained the menu perfectly to us. They gave us strawberry covered chocolate on the house for Valentine's Day. It's a cute spot for a date night.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. It's clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve, and the food alone is enough to make you want to come back. A special shout out to Diego who was very friendly with the family. Unfortunately, the service experience did not match the quality of the food. While not intentionally rude, the overall delivery of service felt inattentive and lacked the level of hospitality that helps create a memorable dining experience. There were several moments where communication, attentiveness, and customer engagement could have been stronger. I'm sharing this as constructive feedback because Our Nest has all the ingredients to become a true standout establishment in Brea. The food is already there. If the front-of-house experience can be elevated to match the quality coming out of the kitchen, I believe this restaurant has tremendous potential. You have to be careful not to pass it since there is only one entrance to the parking lot , if you pass the entrance you will have to make a U-turn and come back. We didn't think we would get seated fast because the parking lot was pretty full. But we got lucky and were seated right away. Service is pretty good , they have a lot of people working here. The place is really big and has a lot of seating. It was quite busy. I ordered a Spanish omelette and my son ordered the blueberry pancakes. My omelette was ok, it had way too much peppers and I didn't see the cheese , it comes with a side so I went with country potato with onions and bell peppers. I only wish that it included some kind of toast. My son's pancakes were ok, they are only topped with blueberries we thought the blueberries were going to be inside the batter or inside the pancake. He had to add a lot of syrup to make them soft. The one thing I will say is that the house coffee is very good. It's Lavazza coffee which is really good. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying some other options or coming back for lunch or happy hour.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

My go to meal here is specifically something light and good. Don't want anything too heavy, especially dancing on the dance floor, lol! The Irish Country Salad I posted in the pic has apples, goat cheese, candied walnuts, croutons, frisee, radicchio, drizzled with honey vinaigrette. I highly recommend this salad when coming here! Our server, Devin was pretty good despite the place was packed and he had alot of tables to wait on. My food came out pretty quick and he did check up on our table from time to time which is awesome. Never had an issue here service wise. Wednesday nights are always a fun night here with food, singing, and dancing!

Macallan's has the look of an Irish pub; dark wood, Celtic décor, the whole atmosphere is there…read more But if you're going to lean into Irish identity, the details matter, especially with Guinness. I've watched it poured straight into a regular pint glass with no 45-degree angle and no pause for the proper two-step pour. It comes out flat, with barely any creamy head, which completely changes the texture and experience. Guinness isn't just another draft beer; it needs to settle, and it should be served in a proper tulip or Guinness glass to get that classic presentation. The fix is simple: slow the pour down and train the staff on the traditional method. The pub has the vibe. Now it just needs to respect the pint.

Our server was Ashley and she was so friendly and sweet! She answered all our questions and was very attentive to us throughout the dinner! She even refilled my hot water multiple times, which is SO RARE in a restaurant!!!! The food itself was delicious and had great portion sizes! The appetizers were great (calamari and caprese salad)! Good shareable portions for the table! For dinner, we ordered the short rib pappardelle, which was DELICIOUS and was a hit!!! There was more than enough to split among three people! I had the grilled salmon salad which had a good hefty portion of salmon that was perfectly grilled, on a huge bowl of greens! The restaurant gave my mom a complimentary canoli for her birthday too, which was awesome! Thank you so much for the great food and excellent service! Entrees were Lasagna (mediocre) , cheese lover pizza (mediocre) . The worst part was my $69 filet mignon . I asked for it to be cooked "medium " , it arrived to the table well-done! I returned the plate and asked them to try again. When it finally came back, it was "medium-well" more on the "well" side unfortunately. Then to have this EXPENSIVE CUT OF MEAT NOT HAVE ANY FLAVOR!? TASTELESS! I couldn't believe it! So disappointed! Also, the mashed potatoes had way too much garlic and the carrots and asparagus were cold and barely cooked. It also looked like the restaurant had a full bar but they couldn't even make a pina colada! Or couldn't even recommend another alternative drink. We will not be returning.
