So this was a date night with a couple of YELP Elites that I known for forever. We decided to do dinner and they chose Fogo de Chao. What a great choice, This restaurant was amazing Me and the Mister got there early so we got a decent parking space. The parking is cramped but they offer valet parking for $10.00. The restaurant is located in a very busy parking lot so be prepared to drive around valet park. The entrance to the restaurant is beautiful. It is large with beautiful windows and amazing lighting. They have a smaller back room where we were seated. We had I believe three servers. Omar being our main server. He was funny and helpful. He explained how the Churrasco worked ($78) and the difference between that and an entree. Me and my fellow yelpers order the Churrasco and my Mister ordered Chilean Sea Bass, his go to.. All meals come with the amazing salad bar. That in itself is a whole Yelp review. Salad bar had everything and I mean everything. There were salad choices, fruit (even dragonfruit). They had peppers, cheeses, salamis, soups, black beans and rice, and olives. All the Misters favorites. Being such a bready how did forget the bread the started us off with. It was a delicious cheesy bread. The also have a bar for those of you who drink. After you get your salad bar the bring you mashed potatoes, fried polenta, and plantains. All delicious. By now I guess you are wondering where the beef. Then it starts. You get a little card thats red on one side and green on the other. Once you flip it to green the meat starts coming and it doesn't stop until you flip the card to the red side. Meat selection included Brazilian sausage, filet mignon, chicken, lamb, steak wrapped in pork, bone in ribeye, and picanha (what they are known for). When I say it was a lot it was a lot. I don't leave 1-star reviews lightly, and I tried to look at this experience from every angle to make sure I was being fair. Unfortunately, I can't come up with any reasonable explanation for how we were treated. We arrived around 4:15 p.m. when the restaurant was nearly empty, with only about four occupied tables. Our plan was simply to try the happy hour menu. Before being seated, we specifically asked the hostess if happy hour could be ordered in the dining room or if we had to sit at the bar. She told us ordering in the dining room was perfectly fine. As soon as we sat down, we let our server, Melek, know we were there for happy hour. Almost immediately, her demeanor changed. She rushed us to order even though we had just been seated and had barely opened our menus. We ordered three happy hour items and two drinks. Two appetizers came out about 10 minutes apart, but then we waited over 30 minutes for a medium-cooked picanha burger. After more than 40 minutes, Melek came by and asked if anyone had spoken to us about the delay. I told her no and asked if everything was okay. She simply walked away without offering any explanation or apology. To make matters worse, I still hadn't received the drink I had ordered. When the burger finally arrived, it was practically dropped on the table. There was no apology, no "enjoy your meal," no check-in to see if we needed anything, and our water glasses remained empty. At that point, we were already extremely disappointed but chose not to make a scene. Once we were ready to leave, the experience became even worse. I repeatedly tried to get Melek's attention for a to-go box and our check, but she never returned. Other guests actually noticed we were being ignored and tried to help us flag someone down. A gentleman with a beard was kind enough to bring us a box and our check because our own server never did. After waiting another 20 minutes, I finally asked a woman in white who was bussing tables for help. She apologized and explained she couldn't process the payment herself but would find a server. Nearly another half hour passed before Melek finally returned. She took my credit card without saying a word. When she brought it back, she literally tossed the bill toward me and simply said, "Here." No apology. No thank you. No acknowledgment whatsoever. Our entire order consisted of three happy hour appetizers and two drinks. If ordering from the happy hour menu meant we were going to receive this level of service, we gladly would have ordered full-priced meals instead. No guest should ever feel like they're an inconvenience because of what they choose to order. We arrived at 4:15 p.m. and didn't leave until approximately 6:15 p.m. Nearly two hours for three appetizers, one burger, and two drinks in a mostly empty restaurant is unacceptable, especially when much of that time was spent waiting for our server or trying to get anyone's attention. Service is about making guests feel welcome and valued regardless of what they're ordering. Sadly, Melek made us feel like a burden from the moment she realized we were ordering from the happy hour menu. Her attitude, lack of communication, and complete indifference turned what should have been a pleasant first visit into one we won't be repeating. The zero tip reflected the service we received. However, the same usually cannot be said for the FULL CHURRASCO dining experience for $79/person. This was probably my 10th time attending a birthday dinner at this Brea location, and the food is never good. The meat tastes bland (lacks seasoning) and the only thing that ever tasted good is their Tomato Bisque. I came here tonight and even the bread was rock hard. Right now, I am literally wide awake at 3:30am because I am up sick to my stomach with food poisoning. I am still giving a 3 star review because our server was great. We ordered the full churrasco meal which includes meats, market table salad bar and sides. The meats were plentiful. They keep coming around with different kinds of meat. My favorites were the New York strip steak and the filet mignon. The Brazilian cheese rolls were delicious. I highly recommend it. You can get refills on the cheese rolls. But try not to eat too much of that or you won't be able to enjoy all the other stuff. The salad bar has many items to choose from. It has different salads, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, soup, beans and rice. My favorite was the maple glazed bacon. From previous visits at the Downtown location, I really like their fresh fruits. It is usually very ripe and sweet. Unfortunately the fresh fruits were not very good at this visit/location. They were not sweet. It cannot be that all the fruits were not in season. None of the following fruits I had were sweet: pineapple, papaya, dragon fruit, kiwi. Our server was friendly and attentive. She offered me a complimentary dessert for my birthday. A vegetarian at a steakhouse?! Yes, it IS possible but I was NOT impressed. Upon entering, we were told the next open seating time would be about 40 minutes. We opted to wait but the hostess made it seem like we needed a reservation to even be there. Whatever. Once we were seated, our server explained the process and took our orders. I opted for the seared tofu as an entree and added the market table. Everything at the market table & feijoada bar was bare and needed to be replenished. Every item was nearly empty down to the bowls and plates. Once I was able to actually get some food, I noticed several patrons just walk up, grab food items (bacon, fruit, bread etc) with their bare hands and walk away. SMH The seared tofu entree I ordered was bland. It was 2 pieces of seared tofu cut in half to make 4, and a cup of spinach rice. (Which is the same rice at the "salad bar"just mixed with spinach) Honestly, it looked and smelled better than it tasted. The other people in my party had the churrasco experience. They all said the meats were well done and NOT to their liking. Some meat was so tough and dry it was like eating "hot jerky". Also, all the meats listed on the menu were not even offered to them. We had planned to take my father-in-law here for his 70th birthday. Since we treated him to Ruth's Chris for his 60th, we knew we had to find something that was just as good, if not better for his 70th, and Fogo fit the bill. The hubby and I have been to two different locations - San Diego and Houston - and both were great, so I was a bit worried about coming to this location, since the reviews are not as high as the others. However, we had a wonderful experience!! We had an early dinner reservation at 4:30pm on a Friday, and the place was slowly starting to fill up shortly after we arrived. The salad bar was fully stocked, and the meats were flowing often; we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for a gaucho to come over and refill our meat. Make sure to say YES to the grilled cheese with honey...DROOL. Besides the amazing food, the service was top notch, which is kinda hard to come by these days. Our server Omar (and his helpers) checked in on us often, made sure we had refills, etc. I know it's a requirement for restaurant managers to "table-touch" and sometimes it can feel a bit forced (been there, done that...LOL). The manager that visited our table - Lestat - was great and was genuinely interested in our experience. We made a few requests for specific meats and when the gauchos came out of the kitchen, he made sure they headed directly toward our table to load us up! There is parking but when it's packed it's hard to find a spot and so they have valet parking for $10 to help. Thankfully we found a spot close by. The place is huge inside and I didn't expect to see so many tables and people as soon as you enter lol. We were seated in a smaller back area which was still a lot of People but didn't feel so overwhelming. We had a few servers that helped us that night but Omar was our main server for the evening and explained the process to us ( thank you for being with patient with us!) Me, the hubby and my friend ordered the full churrasco ($78) and her hubby ordered the Chilean sea bass. They all came with the option for the salad bar as well. They also offered Cheese bread for our table which had a crunchy outside and soft cheesy inside. The Salad bar was delicious and I would have loved to try more of it. It consisted of roasted peppers, a variety of fruits and salads, olives, cheeses, salami, a variety of salads, Soups, rice and beans. This visit, we exercised restraint and waited for the real reason we came: the meats. Picanha. Rib eye. Sirloin. Lamb chops. Each arriving tableside on a sword, because subtlety is not on the menu here. We paced ourselves. We were rewarded. Pro tip: The humbler proteins come out first -- chicken, bacon-wrapped sausages, and the like. Perfectly fine, but not why you're here. I wish it were like the Pasadena location where everything is on an island and easier to access. It was extremely crowded, which made it hard to move around. The atmosphere is bright and seems better suited for smaller parties. They do have space for larger groups, but our party of six was squeezed into a corner. It felt tight, and the meat servers had to squeeze past us, sometimes bumping into us. One server even shoved their shoulder into my friend without apologizing, and another spilled meat juice on them. We also asked our server for more picanha three times, but it never came around, so we eventually decided to leave. We visit Fogo de Chão at least once or twice a month, and it's our go-to restaurant for special occasions. We typically go for the Full Churrasco Experience as we enjoy the grilled cheese with honey, grilled pineapple, picanha, ribeye and beef ribs among other meats. During our most recent visit, however, we were disappointed when the steak service became very slow. At one point, we waited over 10 minutes without anyone stopping by our table with additional cuts of meat, which took away from the experience we normally enjoy. However, Also, Omar and Lestat completely turned our evening around. We love Aldo for being our server. He was friendly, welcoming, and helped make our visit enjoyable despite the delays. Even though Omar wasn't our server, he noticed the situation and stepped in to make sure we were taken care of. He was attentive, proactive, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. My family and I were really looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day at Fogo de Chao! This was my first time at this location. I've been the one in El Segundo and my experience there was so-so. I rated this Fogo de Chao only three stars and not five for one reason...the set prices just for dining there on Mother's Day. When I booked this place for my party of 12, there was no mention of the prices for Mother's Day. When I went to the website several times, I clicked on the Brunch Menu and felt the prices were reasonable for what you got. However, when we were presented with the menu for Mother's Day, the least expensive choice was $78 per person!!! And that price didn't even include a non-alcoholic beverage! An iced tea was $4.95 and an orange juice was $5.10!!! I'm not a huge meat eater and was planning on getting the brunch bar which included the salad bar, made to order omelets and waffles. There was no way my husband, daughter and I together ate $78 worth of food! We felt it was very misleading and forced to pay $78 since we were already there and seated. The pricing for Mother's Day should be clearly stated on the website, which I still cannot find. However, the service was excellent! All of their servers, carvers, etc. were very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. The food was very tasty and there was a lot to choose from. Most likely, we won't be back. We started out with the buffet table with lots of vegetable, cheese, and essential Brazilian sides selections except for Brazilian Collard Greens. Here are my beef RANKING from bottom to top: Bacon wrapped mignon, Garlic beef, Picanha, Beef Ribs, Filet mignon (upon request). I've been to Fogo's in Pasadena, LA, and New York and all great experiences but today at Brea Fogo was not good. 30 minutes after we sat down, one server with Picanha showed up and served half of our group of 10 people. We had to explain to staff that we had been waiting a half an hour and only one server with meat came so far so thankfully they came back with 5 different meats to make up for it but after that they stopped coming. We kept having to ask for more meat to come but maybe one server once every 20-30 minutes would come and serve us. Won't be back at this location. The still water that was served had an awful smell. The lemons brought to the table looked like they had previously been chewed on. 3 of the 7 of us did the full Churrasco experience. They rarely came by and offered any cuts. We talked to the manager and we got served only 2 different cuts and again nothing. The table beside with a large group kept getting cuts brought to the table. We would try to stop them to serve us and we were ignored multiple times. Not sure what the green/red coasters are good for since they were green the entire time and we were rarely served. Our server checked on us once after she took our order and to bring the check. We were not even offered dessert even though it was Father's Day! Bathrooms were a disaster and had no toilet paper. For this price point I would expected better service all the way around. Would have much rather spend $700 at BJ's across the street than this place read more

They give you a little coaster that lets them know when you want more meat or when you're full, which is such a fun and convenient touch. Came in on a Friday night around 9 p.m., excited to try Fogo de Chão for the first time with my husband since we're not from the area. The ambiance was great. The atmosphere was nice and everything inside was beautiful. We were seated right away, which was surprising for a Friday night, especially since the restaurant was almost empty with only about 3-4 other parties around us. The first two meats that came out were pretty good. They were unsalted but cooked perfectly medium rare. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the night. Every steak after that was extremely salty, and calling them overcooked would be an understatement. We asked for medium-rare cuts every single time, but the texture was more like chewing bubble gum. This was consistent with almost all of the meats that came out afterward. The service wasn't great either. My partner and I had our card flipped to signal that we wanted more meat, but it got to the point where we forgot it was even flipped. When we decided to try more items, we realized it had been flipped the entire time and no one had come by. Service was extremely slow, which was especially disappointing given how empty the restaurant was. The side bar had fruits which we were excited to have, but even the fruits were not fresh nor sweet. Food was great, service not so much . As soon as we said we wanted happy hour the server Roman became rude. He treated the customers sitting by us much better, and was very attentive to them and got plates and refills of water for them but not us. I come here normally with my family for the tomahawk steak and salad bar but I feel that because I came for happy hour he didn't treat us fairly. I asked for water and plates 2 times before he brought any. The food runner were excellent and managers were very nice. As a server my self I know what good service is and I feel from him frowning every time he saw us and overall having a a bad attitude that I won't eat here again. Visited restaurant and Vivian was my server! She was amazing, her customer service, communication and style of service was beyond wonderful! She made our Father's Day lunch amazing! We chose to spend our Mother's Day dinner at the Brea location of Fogo de Chão after our usual location in Huntington Beach was fully booked. Since they are sister locations, we expected the same level of food quality and customer service we normally receive. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. Our table repeatedly requested medium-well to well-done cuts of meat. What initially arrived was consistently extremely rare, nearly blue. When we clarified again and requested well-done, the response swung to the other extreme and the meat started arriving completely charred on the outside while still not properly cooked inside. After waiting approximately an hour and a half for acceptable food, the final filet brought to our table was blackened and burned on the outside while still medium inside. When we politely explained that it was unacceptable, the gaucho who brought it out became defensive and argumentative rather than attempting to correct the issue. At that point, I spoke with the Customer Service Manager, Lestat, who was actually fantastic throughout the situation. He remained professional, apologetic and respectful even while clearly being put in a difficult position. He informed me that the individual arguing with us was the general manager, Sauvignon. Unfortunately, the interaction with Sauvignon only escalated the situation further instead of helping resolve it. We decided we no longer wanted additional food and simply requested our bill so we could leave. We had barely eaten despite being there for a significant amount of time. To make matters worse, the original bill was also incorrect. This was not a situation where a large party was splitting checks in different ways. We had seven people sitting at our table, yet the bill was generated for eight full dinners. After that error was corrected, I explained that while the party size had finally been fixed, the bill still did not reflect the experience we had. I was then told that Sauvignon had instructed staff that absolutely nothing would be adjusted on the bill. Only after further discussion was any accommodation finally offered. What stood out most during this entire experience was the clear tension among staff surrounding management. Multiple employees appeared visibly uncomfortable throughout the interaction. We have always enjoyed Fogo de Chão and regularly dine at the Huntington Beach location, which has consistently provided excellent service and food. Unfortunately, the Brea location delivered one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we have had in a very long time, especially on a holiday meant to celebrate with family. read more

Not my first time at Fogo De Chao, but it was my first time at their Brea location. Beautiful restaurant and big inside, the open style layout complements the space well. We came on New Year Eve and the place was bustling. Great service! Servers came around with ample meat selections. All the meats were delicious and tender. Favorite cuts were bone-in rib eye, lamb chops, and picanha. I was surprised to see that they now have pork belly, which was slightly crisp and succulent. Also, another one with honey drizzled on top..yum! Salad bar was well stocked and solid. Though we were all stuffed, we couldn't pass up dessert. We shared crème brûlée cheesecake with berry compote and side of vanilla ice cream that was amazing. Happy New Year! Diet starts next week. LOL! read more

First time here for a family dinner, and it was a disappointing experience overall. The atmosphere felt more like a loud, high-end buffet than the upscale dining experience I expected. Service was inconsistent from the start. We waited about 10 minutes to be acknowledged, then additional time just to get water (which took multiple trips to fill). Drinks were a major issue: fountain drinks came first, wine followed 15 minutes later, and cocktails took nearly 40 minutes and only after I went to the bar to ask TWICE! And to top it off, When they arrived, they weren't even correct. The marketplace was underwhelming, with several items (meats, cheeses, fruit, and Caesar salad) not being replenished. Service throughout the meal was inattentive, with long stretches (20+ minutes) of no check-ins. At one point, we realized we had been waiting all that time just for a small serving of pineapple, not even enough for the table. I will say they were thoughtful in accommodating my dad with cheese-free bread, which we appreciated. As someone who works in hospitality, this visit to Fogo de Chão Brea felt less like dinner and more like a live training video titled "What Not to Do." Honestly, I should be sending them a thank-you note because I used this exact experience the next day while speaking to a room full of people as an example of how not to treat your guests. So... appreciate the material, I guess? Between the lack of attentiveness and overall experience, it really highlighted how important the basics are. Making guests feel welcomed, seen, and like they matter. Wild concept, I know. Will I be coming back ? NOPE. Do I recommend it? Heck No! Spend your money at the Hat across the street... I came here to celebrate the holidays with coworkers during lunch. This restaurant is a dining experience. Luckily, our large group made reservations. They seat when the majority of the party arrive. Walking through the restaurant, it was crowded. Tables are right next to each other, but the interior is modern, upscale. Our party was seated in the back room where there were a couple rows of long table seating. We all ordered the same thing, which includes a wonderful salad bar and meat delivered to your table, $53 per person. We all went straight to the salad bar. The salad bar is extensive and exotic, but no tags that state what the dishes are. Even though it was a mystery, everything looked scrumptious. Because the ceramic plates are on the right, I started there and worked my way to the left. It ends with sliced meats, cheeses, and soups. The soups did have descriptive tags. At the table, they delivered bread with cheese in the center, fried plantains, french fries, and mashed potatoes. The plantains were my favorite. As soon as we all got back to the table...so it began. All kinds of meats on skewers were brought to the table, every imaginable variety of beef, lamb, pork, chicken, sausage, and fried cheese drizzled with honey. Wow! Delicious, flavorful meats. Because I was at the end of the table, I got the most flavorful outer cut of meat with all the seasoning. You grab the cut meat with your tongs. It started with parking, but I didn't lead with that. There's not enough parking. Because it's located in a strip mall, next to an In and Out Burger, I had to circle around a few times before I found a parking spot because someone left. Whoever owns the parking lot knows there's not enough because there are quite a few 15 minute and 1 hour parking spots. read more

The issue with this Fogo is that when you know what cuts of meat you want and you ask your server at least four times for the ribeye or fillet, and they never bring it the whole night. It wasn't until everyone was full, and the manager came by and asked how it was and we said hey we never got this that they finally bring it by. However, by then the whole table is full, so maybe only one or two people eat. I understand that these cuts of meat probably cost the most and yes, it saves the money if everybody is full, but it ruins the experience. If you're gonna offer various cuts of meat, these cuts should be brought along to everybody at any time someone asks for it. It's pretty ridiculous to advertise something and never get it. And don't give me the excuse of that. You guys were busy or anything else like that because it doesn't take four different asks at least 20 minutes apart from each ask to understand that this place is just trying to cheap out and maximize their buck. Definitely won't be back to the Brea location. read more
