This place is terrible. It is a huge tourist trap. They give very little details about the food on the menu. I ordered a BLT which was a burger which they said it has applewood bacon and mayonnaise. When it came, there was no patty. This was a 16 dollar burger, AND NO PATTY? Keep in mind that BLT's are supposed to have patties! I would have ordered from McDonalds rather than asking a snake for a burger. You'd think that since there is no patty, that the bacon would be large, right? Well, I have a surprise for you. The "strip" of bacon was almost indiscernible! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE BATHROOMS! I saw a live rat in there just as I was finishing up my trip to the bathroom. They were tasty, but not nearly tender & juicy enough to warrant the drool factor. The salmon entree was above standard. Tender & fresh. The chutney paired w it was on the sweet side. It was also a bit heavy. I would order this dish again. Only, I'd request the chutney on the side next time. The big surprise was the Cobb salad. It's ginormous, but more importantly, it was uber fresh. The freshest greens, w grilled chicken & a generous amount of avocado & bleu cheese. The balsamic vinaigrette was on the sweet side; in retrospect I should have gone w Italian or bleu cheese dressing. Dressing is appropriately served on the side, so you dress to taste. We went out to Griff's on New Years Day for a late lunch and a change of scenery as we don't usually go to Copperopolis. When we arrived we noticed how beautiful stage foot door is, it's like a door that belongs on a giant mansion cabin! So beautiful! Once inside there was a couple people ahead Of waiting to be seated and the place was pretty busy... we waited just a few minutes before the waitress sat us at a high top table in the corner. A young man named Seth promptly took our drink orders and we ordered an appetizer of fried jalapeños ( never had I ever had these or even seen these on a menu) our app and drinks came out swiftly- the jalapeños were so good, fried in a tempura batter with ranch to dip in. For our main coarse, I being vegetarian ordered a side of Mac and cheese and French fries. Mine was really generous in portion size and very good! I love dipping fries in bbq sauce and they have the most delicious bbq sauce on the tables along with other condiments which I prefer so you don't have to ask for more if you need more. Dave ordered the brisket which came with cole slaw, ranch beans and cornbread- he said he would give it at least 5 stars. His only grip was the bill which came to like 50 thing... but we knew that before ordering. We will end up dining here not as often due to the price, but it was really good and a nice relaxing atmosphere. read more

My boyfriend was in town visiting. I had never been to this place before so I thought we should try it out. I am thoroughly impressed. I ordered the brisket sandwich with coleslaw, and he the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The brisket sandwich is incredible. The meat basically melts in your mouth. The coleslaw probably needs more dressing, as it wasn't very flavorful. The pulled pork sandwich comes with a malt vinegar dip, which I recommend with the brisket sandwich. 4/5 on the pulled pork sandwich from my boyfriend. 5/5 on the brisket sandwich. I definitely recommend trying out this place at some point if you are in Copperopolis. The server was very nice as well. We came when they opened and so they sat us right away. Ambiance is good too. It had the potential for greatness but falls prey to a lack of effort and execution on the staff. The beer wasn't bad, it was just warm. The meat wasn't bad, it was cold. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Also I've never had a waitress announce to the whole table the total of the bill, a small grievance but a lack of tact and situational awareness yet again set back the experience from what it could have been. We have a cabin in Dorrington so this a good place to stop. In the Bay Area we only have patio seating. Here they have dining in the restaurant. I'm not brave enough yet. No masks are required. Went out for a drive and ended up in Copperopolis for lunch. This is a really nice place, in a neat little area. We had brisket dinner platters and we were impressed. The menu claimed their BLT would be the best BLT I've ever had in my life! The nerve! The audacity! Well, I don't know if it was the best I've ever had, but it was pretty dang close. Perfectly cooked thick cut bacon, excellent tomatoes, on a brioche bun. It was fantastic. If I lived in the area, they'd get sick of the Chris M. family from us eating there all the time. We wound up there by happenstance due to a massive California blackout that hit the area, which eliminated our first three picks for lunch. Turns out we were lucky. My wife and daughter split the BBQ chicken sandwich, and it was great. My son had the fish and chips, which he proclaimed to be the best he's ever had. Just as we were finishing our meal the power went out there too. My wife happened to be washing her hands in the bathroom when everything went black. The staff immediately responded with a flashlight to check on her. ***** for the staff too. Really, really great place. I will drive out of my way on my next trip to Yosemite just to eat there again. Our trip to Bear Valley started late on Saturday and typical traffic out of the Bay Area and we ended up here with the hangries. This is our second time here and kind of knew that they can be short staffed. We were quickly seated in a gargantuan booth and quickly reviewed the menu for some lunch options. I went with the special short rib sandwich; we also got the southwestern salad with crispy chicken and kids mac and cheese. The short rib sandwich was AMAZINGLY delicious. There were massive chunks of short ribs that I drenched in the house BBQ sauce. It quickly became a sloppy mess but I loved every delectable, finger licking bite. The crispy chicken on the salad was extra crispy and yummie. I had an ice tea barrel to wash it all down. Look for their massive front door... it makes everyone look kid size. read more

What a disappointment! This restaurant is in the adorable town square of Copperopolis and looks the part. There wasn't really a wait to be seated because it wasn't that busy (now I know why) and when our waitress did come to the table, she actually stared at her little tablet for taking our order and said "Do you know what you want?". We ordered and the wait wasn't too long. Unfortunately the food was terrible. I had the BLT and paid $2 extra for avocado. When I tried picking up the greasy bun, the avocado slipped out and that was easy to do, because they hadn't even sliced it through so it was still all connected. The sandwich was bland and poorly put together and the fries were barely warm and just didn't taste good. I didn't say anything hoping my companions were enjoying their food...too bad all I had to do was look at their faces. I tried a bite of the pulled pork sandwich someone in my party had ordered and he said it was flavorless. To me, that was incorrect because there was a hint of flavor but it was not good flavor. I also tried one of his obviously burnt onion rings (please see the photos) and it was disgusting; I mean you could just taste the burn! ugh. Someone else had ordered the ribs and just gave up after eating a few because they were so tough. He commented "even Chilis ribs fall off the bone" and said they weren't "worth the work". I wouldn't even try them because they were almost a gray color and looked incredibly unappetizing. The mac and cheese was like rubber, the garlic bread was bland and we had our cups at the edge of the table waiting for refills we never got. (It's $3 for soda btw.) We actually only saw our waitress 3 times; once to order, once to get the food and the last time when she brought the check. The service was terrible and the food was worse. I would recommend trying anything else in the area before coming here. read more
