Similar experience as previous yelpers. The food was good but the service was less than desired. The server was irritated for us to be there. My chicken bbq burger with onion rings was good and my boyfriend's BLT with fries was good as well. Nothing spectacular but would check it out for the food again. Griff's is good. The cheeseburger is huge and tastes like what you'd expect. It was cooked nicely - not dry but not memorably flavorful either. The fries were really good & they were seasoned well but the onion rings were on the soggy side. It may have been due to the heat from the burger in the take-out container and your experience eating in may be different and the onion rings might be delightfully crunch while not being too crisp, as I prefer my rings to be. The size of the burger may allow for cutting in half and sharing if you're craving a burger but not super hungry. Overall, I would eat here again and try their other offerings. read more

My boyfriend and I came to visit this tiny town in the middle of nowhere and stopped to eat a griffs! Food was really good we got the beans and haven't stopped talking about them since lol We also loved the sausage and my boyfriend said the brisket was cooked really well! One star is one star too many! Yes, it was a busy Sunday, but not full to capacity. Many open tables and open spots at the bar. We decided to sit at the bar thinking "quick drink and quick lunch and head home after busy weekend on the lake" THIS WAS NOT QUICK. 15minutes sitting at the bar before we were even greeted, and I say "greeting" lightly. We were practically attacked with a scowl on her face the server said "can I get you something" it wasn't a question it was an exasperated statement. We had waited so long we had looked at the menus and we all had decided, ordering drinks and food simultaneously. She took our order and proceeded to immediately get the drinks. But that was the last thing she did in a hurry. 45min later we received our Luke warm over cooked. Chicken nachos, cup of chili, cup of coleslaw, cornbread and a brisket sandwich with fries. Literally the 3 of us left saying the best thing we ate was the bbq sauce and the lemon butter that was served with the cornbread. We walked in at 130pm and finally left at 3pm!! It's now 5pm and the heartburn is still flaming up from the brick of bad food in my stomach. I cannot say enough good things about Griff's! Michelle the owner, and her assistant Tiler did the catering for my wedding in October. Because of Covid we did not want to have it buffet style so Michelle and Tiler were bringing the food and drinks directly to everyone so they would be the only ones handling food. They made everyone feel so special and taken care of! And boy, the food and drinks were just to die for!!! They made my favorite drink, a Moscow mule, and it was I think the best one I've ever had! They also made us special cute appetizers and we had the option of salmon or prime rib for the main course. I had the salmon and my husband the prime rib. They were both delicious!! We ate the prime rib again for breakfast the next morning we loved it so much! I still dream about it sometimes lol Michelle and were just so sweet, accommodating, and fun they just immediately became like part of the wedding! Went to watch some live music on a Thursday night with my brother and his wife. Not too crowded, music was nice. But the vibe in the restaurant was caotic. People dining were going in and out of the kitchen, serving food. Some of the staff were in flip flops and shorts. Cook staff kept peeking out with gloves on from preparing food using a skewer to pick their teeth. Pretty sure they didn't change gloves after. Whomever has a safe serve certificate should re- train their staff. Just super unprofessional. Food was better than the drinks were. But something on my black and blue burger made me extremely sick. More than ever prepared food needs to be handled appropriately. And safely! I missed two days of work from the food their. I am in the food industry as a butcher and a caterer and food safety is utmost important. Won't be back. Next time I visit my brother we will probably eat at Baldys or have pizza. We stopped here on our way to the Train concert, wanting to have a nice dinner before going into Murphys. This was our first time here. Autumn sat us and got our drink order started and Kelli was our server. Her personality was awesome! Any questions we asked, she knew the answer. We stopped in on Friday evening around 7:00pm. It was so nice to see the restaurant full! Friendly staff. Prompt service. We ordered the prime rib special. Not sure I can put words to just how amazing this dinner was! First off, huge portion. I mean HUGE! Cooked exactly as we requested! The beans were the best I have ever had. Wish I had the recipe! I was happy not to wear masks which is fine there was still some people wearing them. And we were hoping and heard good things online about this place. They were understaffed. The girl that waited on us out Side was not very good we only saw her twice and apparently she didn't think the tip we left her was enough. She didn't even say thank you screw you or don't come again. She just turned and walked off. My food was cold and I was very disappointed in the entire experience. But just across the street there is a restaurant that we are going to try next time we drive up. Baldy 's. I would not suggest going to this barbecue house again for the amount of food you get it was definitely not a bargain. The bar tender was struggling, she didn't have bartender experience and made drinks wrong and I guess the new manager was not assisting her so service was disappointing. Blond gal came over to tables that she could tell were getting impatient. To many things went wrong at every single table in the bar section. Then blond gal had to get behind the bar and hustle and hook up kegs. Turns out her name is Jenn. We all thought she was a Rock Star ! We just had the best hanging stake EVER!!! Mouth watering masterpiece, served over fantastic mushroom risotto. The consistency and texture of rice OMG simply superb! Oh and the best part, that radicchio grilled and charred to perfection just enough to mellow its natural bitterness, but still keeping it juicy and gutsy enough to pull all ingredients on a plate in the most satisfying way. We stopped in during a long drive and we were looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. Izzy greeted us at the door and seated us right away in a big booth which gave the cooped up kids some room too stretch out. Izzy was also our server and she was super friendly, intuitive to our needs and helpful when we asked for some modifications. The pulled pork and smoked chicken sandwiches we're really good and I i love how tangy the barbecue sauce is. She knew we were trying to get back on the road and got us the check quickly. We stopped in last Friday on our way to Murphy. Love the door, walked in and it was packed! Was told it would be about a 20 minute wait for a table. After walking around the town square, we were seated. We got our drinks in a prompt manner and ordered appetizers. Food took about 35 minutes and was average. Our server, Zena was amazing and really on top of taking care of us with all the hustle and bustle going on around us. We never had an empty drink and she kept a smile on her face. The girls up front seemed to hold down their end while kitchen obviously needed help. Our favorite restaurant to bring out-of-Towners for fantastic BBQ. The pork, chicken and rack of ribs are all fantastic. Excellent service, a good range of condiments and outdoor seating when it's not too hot. Did I mention their mouth watering pulled pork sandwich on brioche and their salads? All around excellent food, friendly and attentive staff. This is usually one of the highlights on our motorcycle tours in the Sierras. Keep it up Griffs, we love you. read more
