First off, let me just say that DOH was our go to when we are in the area. Our main spot is Chubby Cattle . When this popped up and replaced DOH, I was pretty bummed. I've had Grill 9 ONCE, the one on Sahara and the wait time was as bad as Chubby Cattle, but this location was much better. I like this over all the 888 I've been to, even Doh, but when it comes to food, this place and Chubby are a tie. Well, I'll lean more towards this place because of the Sushi which was delicious. Service was outstanding. Our server Claire was very attentive and genuinely kind. I'm a pretty good judge of character and she was one of the best servers I've ever had. Ok, I was super nervous about trying this because I loved Doh, but it was actually suchhhhhhh a good place! The restaurant is clean and inviting. We were seated immediately. The menu is extensive and had a variety including sushi, soup, appetizers, and sides. Meat was delicious. We had a hard time choosing! The service was TOP TIER. Damn! Every time we touched the menu it was a "what can I get for you?" Waters empty, they immediately grabbed a new one. We had like 5 grill changes. I came here during their grand opening and just like other commenters I also experienced the last minute cancellation without any notification. I actually figured out myself when rechecking my reservation time that it was cancelled. I wish there was at least a notification the day before or soemthing instead of silence. However I must say I called in 1 hour before my reservation and the person was nice enough to put me on the waitlist to try to make up for the cancellation. I appreciated that. He said it would be a 2 hour wait. I came 2 hours later and was seated but still had to wait about 20 minute more. I get it tho, it's busy and they were having their BOGO deal. A complaint that I do have is that the ventilation there is not good. Our grill was also smoking like crazy (I think the put the wrong one) but I can tell the servers were trying to do their best to stay on top of that. We got the signature Menu which came with more of the premium items. Their raw scallop was pretty fishy but the cheese scallop was better. Meat wise I think the best was the wagyu brisket. Meat quality was not bad but not sure if it justifies the $50 original price. I feel like this place had a lot of potential and I would give the another shot in the future once they figure out their kinks. read more

I absolutely loved the Grill Nine near Hmart so I was so excited to hear that they were opening up one closer to me. My friends and I made a reservation and to come during the grand opening just to later find out they were not taking or accommodating reservations. It is a bit ridiculous because their Instagram promoted all over that they accepted reservations and to make reservations. A little bit disappointed with how this was handled. Although we had a reservation, they told us that they were not honoring it which was unfortunate but glad we got there at a time where the wait was only 15 minutes. For $25/person, there was not much to complain about. As the place specializes in KBBQ, sushi was decent. I thought the regular salmon nigiri was pretty plain tasting. I did like the seared salmon as it had more flavor. Besides that, my favorite thing on the menu was their Wagyu brisket. Staff was nice and attentive, overall good time. First of all "top notch" service by Claire! We were immediately greeted as we walked in the door & as she seated us, asked us if we've been here before (first time) so she explained the menu & everything to us - we felt so welcomed and not rushed! I then noticed, she was the "only one" working on the floor (other than a busboy/expediter). She was greeting/seating & serving guests! She is what people/service industry need to model & train the staff!! We were pleasantly surprised by the quality & quantity (especially with it being AYCE) Food was at a premium - very fresh, quality meats/fish/ ingredients. My husband LOVES KBBQ + I love sushi (which i don't get often coz he doesn't do seafood) so it's the best of both worlds! We've been to many places for both KBBQ + sushi and I'm honestly blown away by the quality of their premium meat & OMG see how fresh the sushi is - and not a lot of rice = perfection! Ambiance is clean and not smoky too! All around, we had excellent service & the food was surprisingly sooooo good! My husband hasn't stopped talking (positively) about it (that's not a norm for him) We left with happy full bellies, lots of laughter & the best dining experience in a long time. BOGO Grand Opening Weekend Days 1 & 3: Staff appears worked but still friendly and helpful. We asked for same little table near kitchen and declined bigger table so can accommodate larger party. Good places are worth waiting. Having tried most Wagyu items in two days, GM626 favs are: WAGYU NIGIRI SUSHI KIMCHI- sweet hot pear flavor- iykyk MARINATED SHORT RIBS SPECIAL CUT SHORT RIBS TUNA CARPACCIO Orders came out pretty fast round by round and even the other items we added in between. Staff checked on us often, offering grill changes, making sure we got everything, answering questions, etc. This our first time trying BEEF TARTARE presented w/egg yolk & pear and asked how to eat. Did I mention how nice everyone is? We arrived and were seated within minutes at opening on Friday and at 230pm on Sunday aiming between rushes. Sooo...the location on Decatur was magical. 10/10 when I tried it for the first time but it was a far drive to get to regularly. I was really excited for the new location to open. I know it's new and they're trying to move quickly to open but the other location is beautiful. They have these little lamps for each table and it was a nice luxurious touch. This place is NOTHING like that. I understand they're opening and they don't intend to use the patio but it was COVERED in junk that they took out of the old restaurant. That was already unsettling. I also know they're taking over the location of another kbbq spot but they cut a lot of corners. The bathroom is foul. Now the food--again, not as good as the original location. There were a few staff members from the original location here to train and open the new location and they were very kind. They were attentive..I think. We had a female server that took our first order and we NEVER saw her again. Other staff members kept coming by to ask us if we needed anything but we told them 3 separate times that we're waiting on our food. When it FINALLY came out, the server was nice and apologized. It was one item that we waited for. We assumed it was a fluke. We put in our order again for more food, waited, and nothing came. 3 servers again, came by to ask if we needed anything and we told them that we're waiting for our order again...after waiting AGAIN for another 10 minutes, we just paid and left. The food selection has some uniqueness as well as comparable to other KBBQ restaurants. They have two tiers of their menu, one Premium for $39 and one Signature with Wagyu choices and more appetizers and cooked food options for $49 per person. The portions are fair and can easily be stacked to order 2-3 servings and still give you enough room to order all the other types of cuts they have. The service was amazing! We had a handful of the waitstaff attend to us and they made us feel warmly welcomed and like family rather than the rushed feeling that is typically experienced with fast paced places. Every single one of you deserves a shoutout, most especially to our main guy John. You definitely made such a memorable impact to our party and for that we thank you. The ambiance for being a cozier KBBQ with decent lighting and apt music shows a well thought out plan. Even with numerous options around, and even another KBBQ place by the next corner, I can see Grill Nine have their own crowd keeping them busy and humble throughout but course in this shopping center. So, this use to be "Doh" and I loved that place. It is now Grill Nine. I walked into a sleek new restaurant with a high end look. The servers and staff were amazing, helpful and super speedy. The menu has 2 options and both are full of tasty choices. The signature option was worth the extra money on the waygu and sushi alone! Made a reservation and drove from LA to try this restaurant out with a few of my Vegas local friends. Reservation is on April 26th but got an email notified me that it is cancelled less than a few hours before the reservation on April 25th at 11:51pm. We confirmed the reservation prior to my flight to Vegas from LA. Although there are other restaurants I could try or even try walking in and wait if I am desperate for this restaurant, the way the restaurant handled the reservation is not acceptable. Terrible management having a reservation system on yelp then once you get to the restaurant they said they're not honoring the reservation because yelp turned on the reservations without them knowing? How does that even make sense. They wouldnt even accommodate it in any way and instead making us wait.
