A disaster. Not Recommended for Large Groups. We made a reservation for 15 people and called ahead. They asked for a $10 per person deposit ($150 total), which we paid without complaint. My wife even got the name of the person who took the reservation--Josymar--who was actually really nice on the phone. Too bad that was the last nice thing about this experience. When we showed up, the greeter acted like they had no idea about any reservation. No tables were ready, and the whole vibe was "ugh, a big group." You could just feel the annoyance rolling off them. Our server, Stephanie, was an absolute mess. She was scattered, had this bar-attitude energy, and seemed completely uninformed. Here's just one example: we ordered appetizers that took forever to come out. When they finally arrived, one was missing. By the time the main dishes started showing up, we told her to cancel the empanadas. Her response? "Sorry, I can't cancel them now--the kitchen might already be working on them." Really? We had to push back and told her we were not going to eat it. We also ordered the Mofongo with Churrasco and specifically asked for the garlic sauce on the side (which, by the way, doesn't even taste like garlic). She flat-out refused and said the sauce had to come on top. No flexibility whatsoever. Pretty much everything came out cold--appetizers, sushi, you name it. We constantly had to chase her down for drink refills. Eventually we'd had enough and asked for the manager. Amanda came over and was polite, but she basically defended all the screw-ups. The only person who actually helped us was José, a server in training who wasn't even assigned to our table. He went out of his way to bring food and drinks while everyone else seemed checked out. The appetizers were a total rip-off too. They push an "upgrade" to add pork chunks, but it's really just fatty, chewy bits that were cold and unappetizing. Oh, and they only allow 3 checks for the whole group, with just one server for 15 people. Of course they add the automatic 20% gratuity for big parties--so why bother trying when the money's already guaranteed? This was hands-down the worst service we've had in years. Complete disaster. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else if you've got more than a few people. read more

Grillers is my fav spots for Puerto Rican food and a great lunch spot too. When we walked in there was only a few people and lots of seating available. They also had good Spanish music playing as well. Our server sat us down and recommended a beer from a brewery in Puerto Rico and it was a really good light beer. For food we ordered Shrimp Mofongo and the Crocante Pernil. Both dishes were excellent. The shrimp were seasoned really well and the garlic sauce on top of the mofongo just added even more flavor. The Crocante Pernil was the star of our lunch. It's a mofongo wrapped in a giant pork rind stuffed with pernil. The pork rind was perfectly crisp and the pernil was moist and a really good portion size. Once again another great meal at Grillers, and I can't wait to go back and try it for dinner. read more

This place was definitely a nice surprise. It's located conveniently off of Chickasaw trail in a shopping plaza. There's ample parking which is always nice. The night we visited, it wasn't crowded so we basically could sit anywhere. The interior is bright and festive. Definitely puts you in the mood for some good food. I started off with a passion fruit mojito. It was almost too pretty to drink. For my entree I ordered the grilled angus churrasco with rice and beans and sweet plantains. Dessert I chose the fried cheesecake. All in all everything was good. The beans were some of the best I've had outside of Puerto Rico. I would probably skip the cheesecake next time as it wasn't anything special. Next visit I'm bringing my son to try. My friends and I had our quarterly girls' night out at Grillers Puerto Rico restaurant. We went on a weekday our surprised it was quite busy. This was my first time having Puerto Rican food so I was really cited and looking forward to it. Our server was really helpful and suggested some of her favorite dishes as well as favorite drinks. I ended up picking the grilled chicken breast with a side of sweet plantains and mamposteo rice. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection; it was juicy, tender and full of flavor. Overall the food was great. The sushi roll was bigger than I thought. The Bacalito was good but the only downside was it was served not hot like it was sitting out. The churrasco was cooked with great flavor and very tasty. Our server was very nice and patient with us as we were a bigger party. We saw a big section of tables marked reserved in the back and the whole time we dined no one sat in those tables which is why I gave it 4 stars. So we have gone to the Kissimmee location and were excited to try this Orlando location. The ambiance and decor were really nice. The food itself was very flavourful. We had a little bit of everything with our friends. The sampler was really good along with the plantain and sancocho soup. I wish the Mar y Tierra mofongo had a little bit more meat. But the unfortunate part of our experience was the service. The gentlemen who was taking care of us was taking a long time to check in on us in between drinks. Our waters weren't topped off. They brought the sancocho that was meant to be an app together with the regular food. Not saying the rest of the servers were the same as I did see more activity with them. It was unfortunate. They are busy on a Sunday afternoon. I was surprised to receive two types of menus as they have an Asian-PuertoRican fusion thing going. Then they have their full PuertoRican fare. Their ambience is lively; they play Latin music in the background. Their space is large and they feature a full bar in the center of their dining room. They have an outdoor terrace with umbrellas for outdoor dining. Their food is served relatively quickly considering how busy they are. Their tables are small and chairs are so uncomfortable. My husband enjoyed his selections which included sorullitos de maíz. They are sweet corn fritters, they were crispy and without cheese- that's a great thing! He said half of the order came out cold, the other half in the right temperature. He also had the grilled chicken and tostones. It was a large portion and very well priced. I ordered from both menus. I tried the empanadillas- they are a great appetizer. There were assorted meats. I was happy with their doneness, and with their texture. I also ordered the cream of plantain soup- I did not photograph it as I was underwhelmed by this recipe; the flavor was bland. The soup came out hot and served with plantain chips. The plantain chips were borderline stale. For the main course I tried two rolls from their Asian fusion menu. The Amarillito- a roll with sweet, ripe plantain and sliced avocado, rolled up with rice, topped with a yum yum style sauce= mayoketchup. The Amarillito was on point! Great for vegans! The Chanchito roll had krab, steak, nori, rolled in rice and lots of rice, (too much rice to undermine the rest of the ingredients) as well as a layer of plantain mash topped with chimichurri. I thought this would be the biggest surprise of the afternoon and I was let down. I didn't love it! The white rice was bland, the plantain mash was good; it had the opportunity to shine here maybe a garlic cream sauce or crispy chicharrón? The steak was very chewy and the krab was very good but almost non-existent. Both rolls were conceptually great and I was expecting to be blown away, they were priced very well, but there were quite a few misses in the flavors and consistency. The service is fantastic, our server noticed right away we needed an English version of the menu. She was friendly, helpful and professional. I would like to try more. Grillers was completely off task today. It's a shame cause we enjoyed it the first time we went a couple months back. We were excited today to go eat there for Mother's Day. I even skipped lunch today so I can stuff my face. I do not think the staff was prepared for a busy day. We waited patiently for an hour to be seated and another hour to get our food. It looked like the staff all went on break at the same time and had the only pizza party in the back. Everyone was eating a slice with their black gloves on then touching the customers food with the pepperoni grease that was sliding down the slice. When we received our food the steak fried rice was raw, my white rice was raw and my steak with onions was half cooked. They shoved the steak in a little dutch pot which that's probably why it didn't cook through. The french fries were over cooked and cold, the sweet plantains were fried so long that they looked like pieces of coal on the plate. What a disaster. I felt bad but they were not cooking with love tonight. One of the servers explained to me that the kitchen was back up and she was sorry. Not sorry enough when everyone was stuffing their faces with the pizza pie. The music was so loud as well that no one could hear each other talk. We decided that we were not going to pay for the food. Stephanie our waiter called the manager and she apologized and asked us what can she do for us? I don't think you should ever ask that question to anyone. You should be more proactive on your part and figure something out. The apology was not sincere, seemed like she was not really concern with going out her way to sincerely apologize and maybe extend another invitation when things are not like a mad house. My Mother's Day Dinner was ruined. I got there at 5:30 pm left at 8:45 pm with an empty belly. How depressing this night was. So sad because I really loved their pasteles and morcillas. Maybe next time you should take reservations for holidays and have a prepared kitchen staff that knows how to deliver excellence on customers plates. read more

Had dinner with my son on 3.23.26. Place very nice. We ordered appetizers mini alcapurrias and risotto croquettas. alcapurrias were very good but a little too thin. I know they are mini but for $10 they were too thin. I little more would not hurt their status. Croquettas were good but didn't taste much of the chorizo. Our drinks were ok but $14 for a traditional mojito with a lot of ice. Not impressed. Our main course was surf & turf Mofongo. Very flavorful. Shrimp nice big and cooked perfect. I wish the garlic sauce has more garlic. Had too much food so we took it home. I had to make garlic mojo for the mofongo because it really was dry after reheating it. I will go back to try other dishes. Although, I read someone's experience with grilled chicken being dry and the management saying it supposed to be like that. No it is NOT. Having Argentinians in the family and they being master grillers i have never eating dry grilled chicken. Overall my experience was good. The server was very nice. We ordered a plate for 2 which had grilled chicken, steak, sausage, fried shrimp with mixed rice (mamposteao rice), French fries and fried plantains (tostones). The chicken and the sausage was as dry as the Sahara desert. Told the waiter and he says "The manager said it's on the grill it's supposed to be well done ". Really???? We asked to speak to management to inform them and show them what the meats looked like which were completely untouched and not eaten. We were greeted with an attitude the minute the manager approached the table. We showed her the meat and she continued to dismiss what we were telling her and insisted that's the way it comes. She offered to redo the plate but it would have came the same way obviously since she said this is how it comes. Grilled chicken is supposed be dry according to her. She never offered to take it off the bill seeing it was untouched. She offered us dessert which we didn't really want but she insisted so we ordered 2 cheese flans. It took about 15 minutes for the flan to come out. Then the waiter brings out 1 coco flan and one vanilla. Lol. At this point it's a joke and honestly I feel like it was done on purpose. So we just get up without even eating it. Service was horrible as well. The waiter was missing in action, no where to be found. This was a very disappointing experience because we were very excited to try this place. The only good thing that was absolutely delicious was our appetizer which was the fried pork skin (chicharrón) with guacamole!!! So we basically paid $88 and a 20 tip for that. read more
