My family got together to celebrate my dad on Father's Day. When we arrived I parked in the lot. I walked in and the restaurant was pretty nice. We sat at a booth and was served by Kelce. She was cool! I ordered the red wine because I didn't care for lemon drop martini. For my meal I got the honey hot chicken sandwich, and it was ok, just a little sweet. My family liked their meals. We finally tried this place which is near us and always passed by... The restaurant is spacious and airy and in the Covid era has plenty of outdoor sitting, well spaced for social distancing. Of course, on a warm summer late afternoon, we sat outside... Service was friendly and prompt.. Our waiter was very courteous and offered recommendations without asks... Their menu is huge even now; I have heard that they had great daily specials in the past.. We took our 90 year old moms for Mothers Day The positive is that the food was good. The service was one of the worst i ever experienced. -our apps went to the wrong table (we were 4, they were 8) when their 8 came out they just gave them all the extras. -nobody ever filled our water glasses or checked in on us -the server came over once and we ordered 2 more sodas which never came - our entrees came 1 1/2 after we sat down -the bill came with tip already added (it said for large parties). We were 4 people. My rating for Grillestone is a solid 3.5. My family and I initially made reservations at Grillestone for a Sunday brunch, but once we realized brunch was over at 3 ( we arrived at 2:30) we decided to just order off the lunch menu. Our waiter, Rob was GREAT!! He was so attentive, friendly and really did a great job managing my party of 12. The drinks were just as great. Personally, I had a fishbowl that was easily shared among three of us and another drink which I forgot, but it was great.. just a little too much ice! Beers, shots and a martini were also ordered around the table. For the appetizers, sushi, avocado toast, wings, and shrimp were ordered. I heard nothing but great things around the table for the appetizers and drinks. It was the food that I heard a lot of mixed reviews from. My Chicken pasta wasn't bad, I just thought it could have been slightly cooked a little more and the sauce needed an extra zing. Around the table, I heard that the burgers were great, but the salmon was a bit dry. I also heard great reviews about the chicken parm and steak. Grillestone wasn't a bad option for a large party on a Sunday afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers, drinks and my personal entree. I also really enjoyed our waiter, Rob who was nice, attentive and friendly. There was not one complaint around the table because our drinks, appetizers and food were coming out in a timely manner. It's unfortunate that the food and the service do not match the atmosphere of this place. The menu even looks good and the sushi offerings are surprising and welcome in a steakhouse. Unfortunately, my sushi roll was underwhelming. Hardly any actual fish and loaded with fake crab. The 2 sushi pieces I ordered were obviously prepared many hours before I I ordered. For the price, you would think they would have a sushi chef freshly preparing the food. Also, they gave me a plastic disposable to go container to put my soy and wasabi mixture into. If you serve sushi, you should have an actual small bowl for this and not something you would use to take the aioli home. The lobster bisque was served lukewarm and you get about 1/2 cup worth for about $15. The brussel sprouts were so close to being good but they were a let down as well. Mushy and barely any char. It's like they were par cooked and then microwaved. So easy to par bake them and then put in a hot pan to crisp them up on demand. Beer menu is pretty solid. Could offer more than 3 local draft beers on tap considering the beer universe that NJ offers. Waitress seemed visibly annoyed about something and our party of 4 felt like we were inconveniencing her. Service 2/5 Food 2/5 Atmosphere 4/5 I've been to this place twice and draw the same conclusion each time. This place could be so good with additional server training and some attention to detail. Updating my review to three stars based on the brunch experience. Friends of mine recommended the brunch at Grillstone, the price is right and the selection is very good. My daughter is a crab legs junkie and Grillestone offers crab legs on their brunch buffet every Sunday. The crab legs are sno crab and they very good. There is a chef preparing custom omelette and eggs. Fresh carved beef and turkey are available along with your standard brunch fare. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pastries etc. Macaroni and cheese, salmon are offered with a mimosa. The temperature of the food could be hotter and I would love to see eggs Benedict added....what is brunch without Benedict? I spoke to management about my previous review after brunch, the manager understood my frustration and is making an effort to improve. This is a fun spot to grab drinks and food with friends. You won't get award winning chef food. It I've never eaten anything terrible here either. The service was slow but I know the world is short handed so I can't hold it against them. This wouldn't have bothered me that much but there were like 6 other tables open on the patio at this time and no wait from what I saw. This is a difficult review to write because it wasn't an awful experience but it wasn't amazing either. The place is beautiful and clean.The food was Meh. On par with a chain restaurant but expensive for what it was. Ordered the slab bacon which was entirely fat and tough. Truffle Mac and cheese as a side that was kinda grainy but also tasty and the noodles weren't over cooked. Turkey burger that was just like any ol turkey burger. The whole chicken which was the best thing anyone ordered. Juicy and not overcooked. Prime rib which wasn't anything to write about so I won't. And the ahi tuna which tasted a little fishy which surprised me because half of the menu is sushi so you would think the stuff is moving. Also had a sweet sauce on it that was just too much after a couple of bites, less on the plate would have worked fine. The service was absolutely phenomenal. Anthony was patient, attentive, helpful and didn't make you feel rushed or ignored. Cannot say enough about him and he would be the only reason I would ever go back. Overall this is a place I would go to have a beer and eat wings, hang out and watch a game. Not someplace I would bring my in-laws or friends from out of town. Solid experience here despite some of the poor reviews. Our friends that live nearby told us about it so we didn't even look at reviews. Came in for lunch with my husband. It wasn't packed like nearby Comfi but that's not a bad thing. First impressions were great. There is a large outdoor patio with plenty of seating and a fire pit. Since it was so humid we didn't even ask to be seated outside. The interior is beautiful, modern, clean and fairly new. We were seated in a booth near the bar without a wait. Our waitress was excellent and everyone in there was very friendly. We ask her what she liked and she recommended the avocado toast which was delicious! Definitely make sure to get this. I ordered a wrap from the lunch menu and my husband ordered a few sushi rolls. The menu has something for everyone. Everything we ordered was excellent. We also ordered a couple of cocktails that were well made and reasonably priced. The lunch menu prices are very reasonable too. Took a long time to get the meal and only one bartender on staff, she was courteous but ran around like a psycho and kind of ignored a lot of the clients unless we tracked her down a hale. If you can't get a happy hour right not to mention it took over a half hour to receive our apps with less than a dozen people in the bar makes you wonder. I fear this place is not-firing on all cylinders. Highly disappointed that the bartender didn't address the issue after we complained or at the very least comp one draft beer, nope not even an apology, kinda clueless. I came here for a get together at their private room for their Sunday brunch and I was really impressed! I thought it was going to be terrible having read reviews before arriving, but the service was helpful and the food was delicious. The Sunday brunch was a boozey buffet for $28 pp that included a mimosa. The food was a mix of traditional pancakes, french toast, eggs and then some more savory items like ropa vieja, chicken marsala, steak and the showstopper - CRAB LEGS! I was surprised how good everything was, especially for a buffet. Although it wasn't a ridiculous amount of offerings, I felt like it was just the right amount to not be overwhelmed. They also had a table for pastries and I had a brownie and bread pudding which were divine. As for the side room, I wasn't a fan because it had no windows and the temperature was super warm in there. Thankfully staff did come by quickly to refill drinks and clean up. The rest of the restaurant is beautiful and lots of parking. I would absolutely return. read more

Bartender not capable or pouring anything beyond draft beer and shots.
