Came to Grimaldi's twice in the past two weeks because the pizza really is that good. The first visit we dined in and ordered a medium half Mike's Hot Honey Pepperoni (traditional style) and Margherita, plus the Mediterranean salad. Let me tell you--the wait was LONG. Definitely longer than expected. But once the pizza came out, it was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Because of that, we came back a second time to order takeout. This time we ordered the same pizza but in a large. Again, the wait was much longer than expected. We were quoted 45 minutes to an hour, but ended up waiting about an hour and 15 minutes. On top of that, they gave us the wrong style--we ordered the traditional hot honey pepperoni and received the white style instead. Unfortunately, by the time we got home, the pizza was also cold. I would definitely recommend dining in rather than takeout. The vibe inside is very family-friendly, and when the pizza is fresh out of the oven, it's fantastic. Service is on the slower side, but if you're eating in and have the time, it's worth it for the quality of the pizza. read more

Glad I finally got to try this place. Was craving real pizza not cooked through a machine. Every worker we came across was so nice. Jake our server helped if figure out what we wanted to eat. The poured our wine, served the 1st slice of pizza and even boxed it up for us when we were done. Pizza and wine is a delicious combos, and you can tell the ingredients were fresh down to the homemade ranch. My only small gripe is the wine glasses had a lot of prints and smudges on them. But what can you do it glass as long as if ultimately clean is what matters. I'd come back, especially on a Tuesday to get a deal! Decent pizza restaurant in Sugar Land first colony area. Ordered pick up and they had it ready by the time I arrived. Presentation on pizza could've been a little better, looks a little messy to me. It was flappy but still tasted good. If you're wanting higher quality pizza than your average Pizza Hut, dominos, etc then give this a try. Eventhough we've tried this location several times, this visit wasn't that good. The server was very pleasant, however management towards him was disturbing. The server came to the table to explain the cook messed up the order and was remaking it, all the while holding the order that wasn't right to offer it. The manager yelled across the floor to call him back to tell him not to offer us anything and to take the remake. Even the manager tried to show us the remade item was correct, in fact it wasn't. Kudos to the server for having integrity when management was a true donkey!!! read more

Great spot for New York style pizza. The dough is always cooked to the perfect temperature and the pies coming to the table pipping hot. Our favorite is the ivy with extra jalapeños. The plain cheese is awesome and the salads make excellent appetizers read more

My wife and I waited 10 minutes after being seated and were never acknowledged. A couple that came after us were immediately given their drinks and their order taken. As we left, we talked to the hostess and she said that was the servers issue. They were about 25% capacity so not too busy. We went to the Cheesecake Factory instead. read more

I ordered and paid online thinking it would avoid the wait- we had to wait over half an hour. So many people came in and left and still our order was not attended to. The pizzas were done but the bruschetta had to be waited on. The staff weren't attentive to us and didn't even go right away to ask the back on the status of the appetizer. First time trying this place out. Walked in seemed busy, the hostess were not very attentive or acknowledging customers walking in. However, saw there was a bar and decided to sit there instead. We ordered through uber eats and it said it would take an hour. We ordered and got our pizza 3 hours later. Ordered a 16in white pizza and seasonal pumpkin cheesecake. An hour and a half of waiting, we called and asked on status of pizza - we were told they had just put it in .... they called back 30 minutes later and said they didn't have pumpkin cheesecake either and to substitute with something else. This is an okay New York styled pizza joint nestled by First Colony Mall and other nearby restaurants. Look up whenever you first enter so you can notice the hanging lights made out of bottles... I shouldn't have to be told that I would've had to pay for the remake cost. First time being here I was pleasantly surprised! While you don't really feel like you're in NY, they do try with the decor which is quirky and cool. The pizza itself has a great crust, it's crunch and thin with those charred pockets. The pesto pizza that we got was a speciality one and while it was good - I was left expecting more. I just felt like the flavors kind of meshed together. The one topping pizzas we got with garlic were definitely a move - you could definitely taste those well. I would definitely come back. Our first time here and possibly our last. As soon as we walked in, there was no one at the hostess desk so we were waiting for quite a bit till someone finally saw us, came over to greet us and take us to a table. Solid NY style pizza right here in TX! I grew up in TX but have been living in CT for over 20 years. TX has good bbq and Mexican food but the Italian is a bit lacking. I've gotten spoiled in CT and NYC with outstanding pizza. I'm visiting family in Houston and they wanted pizza tonight. To my horror they suggested Dominos.....No thank you. So I turned to Yelp for help finding the best NYC pizza in Sugarland. A few places came up claiming to be NYC style pizza-but the brick oven, and familiar toppings led me to try this one even though it only got 3 1/2 stars. I called them and asked a few qualifying questions and they passed. They have a location in Brooklyn so I thought it was a good bet. I ordered a Margherita pizza (no, Texans, that does not mean lime and tequila with salt pizza). It's fresh mozzarella, Margherita red sauce, fresh basil, garlic and sliced tomatoes - (which I had to ask for). The crust was thin and crisp, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. My parents couldn't believe I found such good pizza right in their back yard. I also ordered a dessert sampler with tiramisu, cheesecake and Oreo cheesecake. By the time I got home (20 minutes) it looked like I'd left it out on the sidewalk in August for an hour. I'm not sure why it got all melty and ran together. It wasn't sitting on the pizza or anything warm. The servings are really small, but they were good. Good news, the pizza is decent and the people that work there are nice. Bad news, there is basically 80% sauce and 20% cheese. Most of the pizza is just sauce on it with no cheese. I sincerely NEVER thought I'd be writing this about Grimaldi's. We've been eating there EVERY Tuesday with friends and occasionally on the weekend. But, something has happened to this place. They're having problems keeping people and have lots of openings. But here's the most glaring problem: For the last 5+ years, ALL of us regulars in our party, including our frequent guests have said that theirs is the best pizza they've ever had. About 1.5 months ago the pizza was brought to the table as limp as a wet noodle. It's never been like that before. Frankly, it was gross. They took it back & made a new one ... again gross. They took it back and cooked it more ... again, gross. The table next to us with 2 large pies, simply got up and left their nasty pizzas untouched as they headed for the door. Over the next few weeks, NOT a single group that we would see EVERY Tuesday was there. We've repeatedly spoken to the managers there with nothing changing. The servers don't know what is going on, or won't tell us what has happened. Trying to reach Grimaldi's HQ and discuss this is an exercise in frustration. I eventually managed to get a regional guy on the phone and he said he was going there last Wednesday (4/9/25) to see what is happening. He never contacted me with info as he said he would. How could corporate not notice that sales have suddenly fallen through the floor due to the almost completely empty restaurant??? What has happened??? Why can no one at Grimaldi's be honest with us??? Sadly, it looks like we'll not be returning as whoever is responsible for customer satisfaction either doesn't care or for some bizarre reason this was done deliberately ... either way, we're done with trying to be a loyal customer ... read more
