The Grind Coffee shop was good. It's in an area that is a bit far for me to go more often. Glad I was able to try it though. I heard that their hot chocolate was the thing to have. So I obviously tried it. I did not have anything to eat but their food and pastries did look good. The hot chocolate was not too bitter, not too strong or rich. It was actually just perfect. I wish I got a large rather than a small one. It was pretty crowded when I went in. It's decorated well and has plenty of seating. If you are in the Times Square area you should go check it out and try their Hot cocoa! read more

I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese. It was $6. They didn't have any sweet cream cheeses which was disappointing. Too much cream cheese, had to scrape a good amount off so it wouldn't be overwhelming. My friend got a BEC and on a bagel and they charged her $16... we were pretty confused by that. Nice little corner coffee shop with cozy seating. It's a little crammed, but still comfortable seating. I came here because the Starbucks in the cross corner from Grind had no seating, but I'm glad I wound up here! I was pleasantly surprised by the vegan croissant, it was very tasty and still tasted like a croissant. Their blue matcha was unsweetened which I prefer in a matcha. Another cozy little cafe that, despite a bit of a struggle with pulling a long shot of espresso (this is about the 6th time in NY), truly knows how to serve up a real, classic espresso. What! Somehow I ignored this place thinking it was another generic hipster cafe, but recently I went in for the first time and they had traditional Greek music playing, and I noticed that had spanakopita and other Greek foods. Wow! The spanakopita was delicious and I really liked the caramelized onions. The coffee is indeed good, and they also have all of the muffins, croissants etc that you would expect to see. While most of the city is quiet at 9am on a Saturday, this place was packed! From the sound of the atmosphere, it seemed like many foreign tourists likely staying in Times Square and looking for an inexpensive breakfast option not too far away. Despite this tourist vibe, the food is really good and worth it for Hell's Kitchen residents to brave the crowd. Greek Orange Pie: This didn't look that impressive, just a yellow cake with a candied orange piece on top. But wow, it tasted amazing! Probably the best item I tried here. Grainy like cornbread, but completely soaked like sticky toffee pudding. And the moistness comes from a sweet sticky orange sauce. Might be too sweet for some, but it's just perfect for me. Banoffee: Kinda like a banana cream pie, but with caramel as the dominant flavor instead of the usual chocolate or coconut. Served parfait style, not in a pie slice, which I kinda like since you get to focus more on the creamy stuff. Though the cakey stuff was delicious too. Everything Bagel w/ Bacon Scallion Cream Cheese: One of the most generous smears of cream cheese I've ever seen. Like definitely make sure you're current on your cholesterol meds! And a few bits of scallions and bacon in the mix to boot, which is way more exciting that regular cream cheese. But the everything bagel was just ok. They used oats liberally in the topping mix, which I'm not opposed from a taste perspective since they don't taste like anything really. The downside is that the oats steal valuable real estate that could have been used on more flavorful onion or garlic. Stuffed Koukouri w/ Feta: Looks like a bagel kinda, but a nice warm feta cheese is baked in the middle. And the outer dough is very soft, like most Greek pastry. I have walked by this new-ish coffee shop more times than I can count, and I have been dying to try it! I had to stop in on Saturday and get a cappuccino for national coffee day :) The barista was so friendly and made a mean cappuccino! It was full of rich espresso flavor and the oat milk added the perfect amount of nutty flavor. The small size was plenty big for me and it definitely warmed me up on a rainy day! I also like that there is a good amount of seating, which is not always the case in Midtown/Hell's Kitchen coffee shops. I definitely recommend this coffee shop for all the coffee lovers when in Hell's Kitchen! It's a great and much-needed addition to the neighborhood. read more

Two things bump this up to 4 stars. One is the location (2 blocks from the hotel I stayed at) and the other is that they sell banoffee. Now, the less positive features: Almost $8 for an okay latte and $7 for a pudding cup sized dessert. That being said, you're about a block from Times Square, so that's pretty much the going price. The coffee wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. The place is pretty small, so it's really just a grab and go place. Still, I will give them credit for expanding the sweets case to something more than just the generic croissants, bagels, or scones of every other place. As far as service, the staff seemed nice, but there didn't seem to be a lot of organization, so it might be easy to miss your order if you're not paying attention or if it's crowded. If you're staying nearby, it's not a bad spot. I just probably wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Vegan options available!!! While visiting the area I was glad to come across the Grind NYC. I'm always on the lookout for places with good vegan options. They have vegan bagels, a vegan wrap as well as tofu and tofu & herbs 'cream cheese' and a couple of pastries. One morning I had a blueberry croissant and another time I had a sesame bagel with the tofu & herbs cream cheese. The food is good and the serving was shareable. It's a nice ambience and place quickly fills up at times with the morning rush of locals and tourists trying to get their morning coffee. Service was great and as a non local it's a nice spot to visit more than once. read more

This property and the customer service is awesome! We ordered our coffees and bagels: hers with cream cheese; my own with the Lox cream cheese. On a whim, I ordered a single slice of their walnut pound cake. This was on Tuesday morning, prior to going to catch Amtrak back to Fayetteville NC. The coffees were on point- deeelicious! I finally got to enjoy my bagel and lox cream cheese at 03::00 on Wednesday morning: Ambrosia!!! When the lady at the Grind told me that the cake was truly a 'pound ' of cake, I now believe her !!! Today is Friday and I am just finishing the cake!! Extremely delicious and filling! Well done, Folks. We shall definitely return. read more

This is a cafe that I've never been to. I have seen them there for about 2-3 years and never gone in. As my girlfriends and I wanted to keep spending time together we came here. I got a berry lemonade which was tasty but needed less ice (4/5) and a tiramisu that had a nice coffee flavor (4/5). We sat here chatting for about 3 hours with no inturrptions from anyone and as we were getting ready to leave one of the employees came by with a bag of their daily pastries and gave them tonus free of charge as they were getting ready to close up for the day. Hands down my favorite coffee shop in New York. My only regret was visiting Grind NYC on our last day in the city so I only got the chance to have it once. This was the best peppermint mocha that I had in New York. There was only one person making the coffee, but we didn't have to wait for long. Once upon a time I was in Hell's Kitchen five days a week after work grabbing a snack or bite to eat before getting on my bus at Port Authority Bus Terminal. I became very used to the sight of certain stores such as the store that used to sit in the spot now occupied by Grind NYC. In years past this was an antique shop which sold all sorts of knick knacks. It was a gem of NYC's yesteryear and I did not know that around the time of the Covid-19 pandemic that business had closed. Even more shocking to my eyes was seeing a modern looking cafe in its place! Grind NYC has a very modern and dare I say, slightly sophisticated appearance inside. There is a nice combination of wood textures and black colors offering bold contrast. There is some seating (I would estimate at least 10-12 people could sit inside) and a long counter where you order. The staff was welcoming and efficient, both much appreciated by yours truly. On my first (and so far only) visit I ordered (you guessed it) a Chai Latte with Oat milk. The drink was made quickly and in no time I was enjoying it. The spices were a bit different than I'm used to with Chai Lattes. They were definitely present and there was some wonderful flavor that made it more than worth it.
