My friend moved to downtown Bethesda recently and we decided to come here to catch up. I ordered him a beer to celebrate his birthday and I a mango margarita and a veggie burrito. MANGO MARGARITA: Yes, a strong cocktail! The mango flavor was very subtle and was on the bottom, the cocktail didnt come with anything to stir the drink :/, so i had to shake the glass (in hindsight I probably shouldve used the fork provided). It was a good cocktail, I love tequila, so the stronger the better (yes, im an anomaly, most people hate tequila) VEGGIE BURRITO: When I ordered, the waiter thought I said a carnitas burrito, but I corrected him when he read out our order again. Yet...a carnitas burrito came out still? They brought out the veggie burrito quickly after I corrected them. I always get the veggie burrito, but it was not as good as I remembered, the squash was a little hard, not cooked all the way through. The burrito was not as memorable, maybe I just had better burritos since trying this burrito last or they made it too quickly for me. I think the summer is probably the best time to come here. The ambiance when they open up the windows makes the space feel so much more refreshing while you dine. Unfortunately I think the place would otherwise feel a bit cramped since the place is rather small. The staff is quite nice and they seemed pretty friendly overall. Food was pretty good the flavors were very nice and interesting and they definitely have a nice selection of unique choices, you don't find too many places with Lengua (maybe not your style but I sure appreciate it). I would have preferred the Ceviche I ordered to be a bit less watery and a bit more packed with fish but the pico de gallo they used for it was a beautiful pairing. I had a Birria Burrito w/ Esquites honestly I'm not a sauce guy but the sauces on the plate really made the dish. I've been hearing good things about this place for a while so I decided to check it out one day at happy hour. It was also Taco Tuesday which meant $3 tacos and $5 Tito's drinks! The happy hour (4p-6:30p) margarita and sangria are $6. My sister got the duck, birria, shrimp, pescado. She said the duck was really good. I got the only vegetarian tacos they had which were avocado, cauliflower and roasted veg. I really liked the cauliflower. Avocado was good too. Who doesn't like avocado???? My brother got carne asada taco ($4 on taco Tuesday). Service was quick and the restaurant wasn't really busy. We were seated right away with options for inside or outside but with this DMV humidity we stayed inside. Very cute decor and Mexican style murals. Been wanting to try this place for a while now. My family and I went here and loved it! We got the honey habanero wings, birria quesadillas, chicken tacos, fish tacos, and churros for dessert. Everything was so good!! Not only was the food amazing, so were the prices. Everything here is very affordable and inexpensive. Our waitress was very nice and the only thing I would have wished for was that our plates got cleared out of the way because they were crowding the table. Service was very quick as well. This location is attractive, convenient, and serves good food in a crowded space. Business is so brisk, it seems to be always crowded. The indoor bar is quite large and usually crowded and pretty noisy. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing meal, this isn't it. One waiter was helpful and friendly. Glad they have the tacos in the options to come with lettuce wrap. Avocado & chicken soup was chock-full of both and was very tasty. I got the duck tacos wrapped in lettuce. (Got my protein without too many calories that way.) It wasn't runny and therefore didn't make a mess as I ate them. The chips and salsa to start? Delicious! My only beef was that straws were automatically inserted in every beverage glass. From an easy ordering experience, to on-time delivery with excellent set-up service, to a meal that our guests all raved about, we couldn't have been happier with our decision. We ordered four different tacos (chicken, carne asada, al pastor and veggie), the kale caesar salad, chips with guacamole and salsa, rice & beans, plus churros with chocolate dipping sauce. The meats were perfectly seasoned and came with a wide variety of toppings so everyone could customize their choices. Quantities were really generous, which was good, because I think everyone went back for seconds. I came here with my friends on a beautiful sunny day because there's a ton of socially distanced outdoor seating in this area! I just ordered my food for takeout and brought it back to our table on the lawn. My friend and I split the duck, shrimp, and al pastor tacos. They come in two's so it's more conducive to sharing. The duck was by far our favorite! The shrimp taco disappointingly contains two shrimps on the outside and the middle is all guac haha. Not a bad meal though. I've been to Gringos and Mariachis quite a few times and it is one of my favorite place for tacos in the Potomac/Bethesda area. Was seated quickly last week and the server was helpful and polite. I had brunch today at gringos for the first day of indoor dining reopening in Montgomery county. Of course, all of the staff were wearing masks full-time and they had a limit of 90 minutes for visits per local regulations. They have a decent size tented outdoor area as well if you do not feel comfortable dining inside, as well as private igloos for dining. As always, their service was top notch. The bartender inside was working her tail off as she was the only one staffed and was handling the service well + a few at top tables. I have the bacon wrapped jalapeños for an appetizer. They were so good... Not too spicy, but full of flavor. Then, for brunch, I had the steak fajita omelette. And I have to say that it was one of the best omelettes I have ever had. I love omelettes in general but oftentimes there is just too much eggs and not enough filling. In this omelette the steak fajita was the star - so flavorful and tender. Park Potomac was packed with people and due to indoor seating restrictions there was a large group of people in front of the restaurant waiting for their food. Obviously this is not in their control but a heads up if you're expecting social distancing. (50% wearing masks). My pickup time was 7:20. I had to wait for 60 minutes outside. I could see the servers were all really working hard and I felt bad for them, but a little late is different to a lot late. The food I have no complaints about. Really good and the duck nachos are the best. Just go on a weekday and/or order delivery cause an hour outside is pretty bad. read more

The sauces that are $1.50 a piece and 2 out of 3 were no good. Duck confit was swimming in grease!!! Honey Habanero wings were only mildly spiced even to my tender tongue. They were not served warm. The green sauce with them was unidentifiable and not good. The jicama was just a starch bomb without the texture or mild sweetness of good jicama. I love the new Gringos & Mariachis in Park Potomac! Parking can be a pain (I always park in the lower level lot underground). And the people in Park Potomac can be real d-bags. BUT the happy hour at G&M is GREAT! $5 for quality drinks and food!!! YAS!!!! I had the house and lychee margarita to start. Delicious drinks. Not crazy sweet not too sour. They use real juice which is always a extra special perk around here. My favorite thing on the menu are the duck nachos. I'm not remotely a duck fan but these are so tasty and moist! Tastes more like shredded pork than duck. A new favorite is the crazy corn. These were very tasty. If you are like me and hate crowds go on a Monday or Tuesday. All bloody marys, mimosas, margaritas, sangrias, etc. are $5 each during brunch hours. I ordered their coffee instead, which was bold and very good. They start you off with house chips and salsa, which is delicious. The salsa is mild but flavorful. I then ordered their Chorizo Sopes, which features a sunny-side up egg with sour cream and salsa verde on top of a tortilla. It also comes with a side of fries and fresh fruit. The dish was very good, but the tortilla was tougher than expected and hard to cut through. Overall, I very much enjoyed the meal! The meal itself was $10 and the coffee was $3, so it was a relatively cheap brunch. The only thing I wish I could change is the drink prices. read more

Some of my work colleagues have told me about this place therefore I decided to check this place out. They are located in Park Potomac A, right in front of Founding Farmers. I was planning on dining in at the restaurant but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they only offered carry out at the time. I was told that the Tacos are very good, so my girlfriend and I ordered the Carnitas, Al Pastor, Steak and Honey Glazed Shrimp Tacos. Each taco comes in a set of 2, and you can upgrade it to 3 tacos for a small up charge. I believe that each order also comes with some Tortillas and salsas. My first impression of the food was yummy.
