I didn't have a good experience here. I was hopeful that the food would be great based on other reviews. I ordered a burger and fries. Both tasted like they were reheated and not freshly made. The fries were way over cooked and hard to partially burned. The burger was extremely dry and the bun was squished. It definitely wasn't made fresh. read more

We went here for the first time today after living locally for almost 2 years! I was really surprised that the fries were not soaked in grease! Most places like this are a grease factory lol. I specifically got the mushroom swiss burger and homestyle fries with fry sauce, and let me tell you the fry sauce isn't like other places where is all mayo tasting, it's like a smokey bbq taste but not overpowering. The burger itself was a tad bit dry, and the fries could have been cooked a extra minute or two. But that's something that could be very easily requested to be fixed when ordering. Out of clams :( but the cod was fresh and cooked perfectly. The fries were awesome. The service was very friendly and attentive. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping in. My only complaints... would have liked the cod sliced into planks instead of patties for better finger eating, and the price seemed high. But it was huge portions. Great burgers and fries! I ordered A grizzly burger and wasn't expecting the massive burger it turned out to be. Homemade fries are fresh cut and thick. My wife is gluten free and it was great they had a gluten free bun for their burgers for a nominal fee. Staff was friendly and courteous. The wait was a bit long but I felt was well worth it. I've always wanted to stop here every time I went to and from the ocean. Finally After years of passing it "because I just wanted to get home" I stopped. Oh man this was worth the stop. I ordered the Bacon cheeseburger fried and a peanut butter shake. The burger had great flavor, wan't greasy and dripping fat off it. Real thick slabs of bacon, and the shake....... Its was great. Thick enough to be a shake but thin enough to be sucked through a straw. Best Peanut Butter shake I've ever had. The ladies there were extremely friendly. Serving: Many unique flavors of shakes, grilled burgers, chicken, waffle fries, Pepsi products. Also: Drive up window. I live in the area and find myself eating here a couple times a year because they have really good seasoned waffle fries and good burgers. However, just about a mile or two down the road is the Hum-Dinger which has slightly better burgers, much better prices and better fry sauce. I also tried their chicken strips which were so tender they fell apart, very good. If the Hum-Dinger is too busy then I'll come here no problem, they have plenty of parking and indoor seating and it is very accessible from the main highway. You can bring your motor home to Grizzly Den, heck, you can bring a fleet they have such a big parking lot. So: Comparable burgers to Hum-Dinger, seasoned waffle fries, and you get more (although not as good) fry sauce, indoor seating and huge parking lot. But: Higher prices than Hum-Dinger, fry sauce could be better (I think it is strictly ketchup and mayo). read more

Worse customer service ever. We waited 58 minutes for our burgers. We watched people order thru the drive thru get their food and leave before us. We went in and they kept saying we were next. We were NEVER next. Went in again to get a refund and they finally had our burgers almost ready. Ridiculous. And they had zero reason. They just can't multitask I guess. After driving past this place on the way to the ocean for years we decided to stop and give it a try. I'm glad we did. It's an old school burger place and the staff was very friendly. Everything we had was great. While I'm not totally sure, the burgers appeared to be hand formed and nothing like the frozen patties a lot of places use. The french fries were fresh cut and they had the biggest clam strips I've ever seen. We all agreed it will be a regular stop for us on the way to the ocean from now on. read more

Our order was taken, (poorly) from the drive through window, was told to pull around and wait, which we did.. 40+ minutes later we went to see why so many others had gotten their food, and we hadn't, to find out the order slip was placed directly in the cash register. Dying for an ice cream and shake after a run on ocean shores led us to this tiny shed along W Emerson. There was a line waiting to grab ice cream and shakes, so we decided to check it out. One scoop is about 12oz, enough for 2 people, I think. The selection was reasonable. They have our favorite licorice ice cream! Burgers are huge, similar to those at any diners. I have really enjoyed the burgers here, mostly because of the benefit of them being hand crafted and not some generic frozen patty. Tonight I decided to call in an order and I can be a lil detailed oriented about my food so I was really hoping this would all turn out ok (because in the past something has always happened where it wasn't exactly how I wanted.) It's safe to say it didn't. They got my burger exactly how I wanted! And I ordered fries with mine, normally they don't season them but I asked. Some of you are probably reading this going, "omg your burger would be smooshed!" But dear reader you are most mistaken. First, my burger was just fine. No smooshedness. This place has gone down hill. They used to make their own fries on site. Now they don't, and the fries are AWFUL!!!! Save your money and taste buds and get fries anywhere else. Safeway has better fries. I can't express how disgusting the paste their fries make in your mouth. The parmesan dust they put on the fries doesn't help the consistency either. Burgers are a hit or miss, kinda like Russian roulette for your mouth. Not worth the money. We won't be back. read more

OMG!! I tend to think of myself as a burger aficionado and I have got to say that the Jalapeño burger here is hands down the best I have EVER had anywhere! It was cooked to perfection and the jalapeños were fresh not pickled which is amazing. The burger had a crispy onion ring in the middle not soggy but crunchy and it had the right amount of sauce. That was the burger alone, add in the classic crinkle cut fries and onion rings which were not overcooked may I add. The soda has crushed ice which I prefer :) and the shakes were delicious. The customer service was outstanding and very eager to help. So go on in there and you will be satisfied, we live in the Seattle / Tacoma area and whenever we are close (1hr out of the way) we make sure to stop in and have a taste of how a burger joint should be!! read more

Great old style, no frills burger place. Tried this place about 6 years ago on a summer vacation out on the ocean, and have been hooked on it ever since. Trust me when I say it is worth the stop. The food here is delicious. I have tried several things on the menu and they have all been great. The service however, is not so great. It is best to call in your order ahead. My all time favorite place for a burger basket. The Aloha Burger is unreal and packed full of flavor. Several choices for fries and all of them are fantastic. I used to purchase a corndog, fries, and a drink when I would stop in, but now that I have tried the Aloha Burger I have to go that route. All the items I have ordered have been delicious. Stopped here on the way to the beach. Husband and I split a jalapeño burger and the cod sandwich. I don't usually mess with burgers, just go the basic cheeseburger route, but I'm glad I was persuaded to this time. It was just spicy enough with a good crunch from the onion ring. The cod sandwich was perfection. Raw onions, tartar sauce, perfectly fried fish. It was hands down the best fish sandwich I've ever had. Ever. I'll need to come back for it. Great buns too.
