*Closing Business Notice* Today, 9/19/26 the final day of business for Hoquiam Brewing Company occurred. I try to give advance notice so anyone that reads my reviews for business closures and is motivated to do a farewell can but this closure kind of crept up on me and was short notice. We were in the area on a day trip and managed to swing by here on the final day. It was fairly busy and they were virtually out of beer. We did get the last one they had on tap. Swag was small in selection as to be expected with a closure and customers are grabbing up what they can. I saw some red hoodies with the brewery logo and didn't really want one but saw a gray one thanks to Steve pointing it out. Food orders were steady and pizza was rolling out rapidly for customers to chow down on one last time. I imagine the closure if this brewery is more of the current phenomenon of brewery closures due to shifting customer spending and cost for running a business. Sad to see but glad we managed one more stop before they closed for good. read more

August 3, 2025 - Hoquiam, WA We stopped in for a beer and found 11 options on tap. My husband ordered the West Coast IPA called Irreconcilable Differences, which he said was good with a hint of spice. I was happy that they also serve wine and ciders, always a plus in my book since I'm not much of a beer drinker. They serve mixed drinks, too. The server was pouring a round of 5 drinks for another table. It was so colorful that I pulled up my phone to take a photo. When she noticed I had done this, she turned all the glasses so the logo showed which made for a much better photo. Very sweet of her to do so. We didn't eat here; so I can't comment on the food. It's a large space with brewing equipment off to one side of the building. Service was good, although initially I wasn't so sure. When I asked how it was going, the server said, eh. Came in pretty late on a Saturday and found lots of free tables so guys STOP BY THIS PLACE. Lots of room and great interior. We were immediately greeted by our server who was very sweet and attentive. We ordered the burger, fish & chips and fried pickles The burger was perfectly cooked (we asked for pink in the middle) and the flavors were on point. The fries however and this goes for the fish and chips as well were a mixed batch of freshly cooked and stale (some fries tasted great others felt cooler and a little grainy) The fish was breaded (not batter) so just bear that in mind, but was very well cooked and the crust was super crispy and crunchy. Also came with tartar sauce and a small cup of coleslaw, appreciated the lemon as the fish was a little under seasoned but the pickles ... The fried pickles were sour and crunchy and so SO yummy! We'd have not found this spot were it not for Yelp. It's a bit off the beaten path on a quiet corner a block off of a main drag. I couldn't quite determine what it used to be, maybe a machine shop or similar. They did a nice job preserving the rawness of the interior but the addition of local memorabilia warmed up the decor. We were in early and only the second table before dinner hour so the server/bartender was able to give us her full attention. I'm not a drinker so I cannot comment on that but my pizza was exceptional. Adequately topped and perfectly baked. Just enough of everything and not too much of anything--that to say the balance of flavors was excellent. We'll definitely stop by on our next trip to the ocean. read more

We were staying in Aberdeen looking for a place that had gluten free options for my daughter. There was not many options in Aberdeen. Hoquiam Brewing was recommended by Yelp. We got there 30 minutes before closing and they were so nice and accommodating. We loved the food and I had a sour beer that was delicious. We ate the left overs the next day on our drive to Forks. During a drive home from an Ocean Shores trips a couple months back, we decided to stop into Hoquiam Brewing with the kids for lunch. The space is not as vibey as most breweries but it was cool and super spacious. The service was a little less than friendly which was our only gripe. We were the only people in the space with kids so I wasn't sure if that was the issue or just an off day for the server, but it almost felt unwelcoming. We all have off days though! We tried the cheesy garlic bread which was tasty, and the fried pickle spears were amazing! The beers were pretty good as well. My kids had the mac n cheese which they loved, but they've never met a mac n cheese they didn't like LOL. Overall it's worth the stop for a beer & lunch and we definitely plan on trying it out again next summer when we're heading back to the ocean. :) read more

Great casual atmosphere. Usually 12 local brews on tap. Now here is where it shines. Real Clam Chowder just like Grandma made. Not the stuff sold in cans or frozen. Not the stuff with shrimp oil and added flavors. Real Clam Chowder with lots of clams. The Pizza is also good, with a soft textured crust. Light on the sauce so you can taste the ingredients. Hoquiam Brewing is in a refurbished old building that looks like it could've been a small manufacturing facility in a former life. The full cement wall looks like it was designed for something other than brewing. I assume the wall provides great sound insulation. We were originally going to test out one of their beers but decided to stay for a pizza and watch the college football game. We are glad we did. We ordered a burger with fries, the grinder with chowder and fish and chips and we shared the corned beef tots. The burger was good I think the best thing we ordered. The fries were only something to fill the plate, they were like eating a non food product. The grinder was decent but had an undertone of olives and I suppose if you like olives that would be ok. The chowder was passable but we also could have passed on it. The fish on the fish and chips were good but again served with terrible fries. The tots were my favorite of all the things. They were out of coffee had no tea selection the seltzer was flat but to be fair the server exchanged it for cider which was totally decent. Our first choice of IPA keg was empty, but the second beer choice was really good. If it wasn't for the good beer and cider I might have gone with two stars. The old building was very cool but it was freezing and the music is really bad. So not a comfortable atmosphere. All and all I was pretty disappointed with this choice especially because the reviews were so good. read more

What a fun place. Nice to see this addition to my old home town! The place was hoppin' ! They brew a variety of beer styles. The stout was my favorite. For the non-beer drinkers, they do also have a few wines and ciders. We had two different pizzas and they were very unique. Great crust! There is also a gluten free crust (cauliflower). The only downer was that we ordered 3 pies. One, which was different than the first two, came out about 30 minutes after the first two. Most had taken their fill by the time pie 3 came out. Heck, it's sometimes hard to find a place that's open when you want it that's not Denny's or one of the fast food joints in the area. My family ordered the buffalo pizza and we weren't fans, but besides that, everything else has been great. We're not really drinkers, but the cider I ordered was good. Keep an eye out for special events. My husband and I went to their Valentines dinner and it was really fun. Chill new spot in Hoquiam. Pints and growlers, nice atmosphere, kid friendly. This is the newest watering hole in Hoquiam. The building and atmosphere are very rustic looking. The brewing equipment is all brand new looking and gives you that 'local brewhouse' type of feel. The server, Michael, was super friendly. She upsold me (successfully) on a growler and four pint glasses to take home. She brought us a snack during the Seahawks game they had on the large TV there. My only knitpick is that there isnt any meal-type food there. But you can get pepperoini sticks or Tim's Cascade chips if hungry enough. My beer recommendation would be the Hoquiam IPA (6.0%). I know Pacific NW IPAs are cliche, but it's a very good beer. Not hoppy like a Space Dust, but citrus-hinted like a blue moon. read more
