You only have one card for all of those stores combine. so, despite_at this grocery outlet. They do not honor the single card... Insisting that the card has to show something that indicates Kent, Washington. when store staff were informed that Kroger doesn't issue individual store cards, rather it is one card for all of them... Staff were dismissive and customers were told "we are sorry that you feel that way"... Before the manager on duty immediately turned around and left. I guess this grocery outlet doesn't actually appreciate us shopping local, if this is the way that they treat us. I was really disappointed when the federal way grocery outlet closed, but thankful that there is still one in East Kent. After this interaction, I'm never shopping at this grocery outlet again. read more

I don't always go to Grocery Outlet, but when I do, I'm probably looking for good deals on fancy cheese. I've been to several locations over the years and the Maple Valley one seems to be the best for what I'm looking for as they typically have a pretty large selection, but that's not always feasible for me and Kent is the closest location. Overall this store is clean and organized. One of the selling points this company likes is "NOSH" aka healthy foods that they've been playing up more and more. This last trip I noticed they've expanded their frozen vegetarian/vegan section to the point I found several items that I've never seen before and ended up buying WAY more than I intended when I walked in there for! Definitely enjoying my finds and I see myself starting to come here more often. It's not going to replace my regular grocery shopping or TJs, but they have a lot of great products and it's worth a stop! read more

I am a HUGE fan of all Grocery Outlets. Not only are some of their products and items unbelievably priced, there are so many name brands to choose from. While I don't tend to complete my entire week's worth of grocery shopping at this one store, many time I am able to pick up my necessities, milk, eggs, bread, at a fraction of the cost of what it may be at my local Safeway. They also always have a ton of snack options that you might have not been willing to splurge for at your local market, at prices that may urge you to give it a try. Some items I also always find at great prices are things like cotton round, avocados, tomatoes, and huge bags of chips. Definitely come check out their selection and be mindful of the fact that the items they sell and feature are always revolving. *Disclaimer - they don't carry every single item you might hope to find at like an Albertsons or Safeway but what they do have is a fun selection, and some great produce options are incomparable prices. read more

What's up yelp I'm backkkkkkkkk . Let me just start by saying this is the most microaggresive store I've ever been too. I came in with my aunt and my mother for about 45 minutes because well we needed some groceries. It didn't take not even 5 minutes for someone and not like 1 person but 5-7 people to FOLLOW MY FAMILY AND I AROUND THE STORE. Not once did anyone offer help but they did decide to pretend like they didn't want to work to make mock conversation as if they were actually trying to do their jobs. By the time we got to the register there was ONE cashier because one of the girls with the long brown hair who looked to be of Hispanic descent "didn't want to move those palettes" it's quite interesting that , that was what she said because near the register where she was working there were no pallets in sight what so ever. The cashier was fake friendly and when we asked if there was a high crime rate he stumbled over his words and asked my mother how old she was because she looked young quote ,unquote. The person stocking in the cereal aisle didn't really help either just pretended to face product wherever we decided to go coincidentally . When my mother saw that the other person who worked there was profiling her he walked away but came back moments later. He was in plain black clothing and went to pay for the products he was "purchasing " he then again came to an aisle I was on and decided to stare and converse with the other guy in the green checked plaid shirt who also didn't offer help!!!! All the micro aggressive bs that we had to deal with here with such a small selection of items is actually quite laughable. At least offer help if you are going to wrongfully profile someone for stealing. Offer customer service instead of behaving like malicious hyenas in heat. I'm just trying to figure out why In the world everyone was so capable of being disgustingly rude but not offering help. My shopping trip was successful but will I ever shop here ever again ? NOPE. I'd rather swallow a wet jean jacket. Customer service is trash and definitely don't shop here if you are BLACK . You never know what you will find and you ALWAYS find several BARGAINS if not more. You might want to go there before you go elsewhere for your weekly shopping. It could end up saving you $$$$ before you head off to Fred Meyer or Safeway. Also, not every store has greeters but Ive been to several grocery outlets and the staff are ALWAYS helpful and nice. This is my first time recieving the worst customer service from one of the employees tonight around 8:45pm. Lady at checkout one flipped over my basket and tossed my groceries on the conveyor which made my juice and 3 bottles of soda hit my bag of chips and other stuff I grabbed. I'm not sure if she had a problem with customers placing the basket on the conveyor but it makes more sense to do so that they can put the basket upfront to put away by the door. Which was pretty rude of her to do but I shrugged it off and know next time I'll be headed to a different checkout.. Wouldnt want my groceries tossed on the conveyor again lol. I still gave them 3 stars because all those other times I've been there I had good customer service from the employees and everything there is cheap. read more

Clerks annoy the crap out of me because they won't pack groceries in the order they're sent down the belt. Instead, they toss everything into a giant pile to be bagged later. I've insisted that they bag it as it comes, and they act exasperated. It's beyond annoying. I give it to 'em in the right order. I don't want a hairbrush under the meat balanced on a box of eggs smashing a loaf of bread -- which is what happens if I don't stomp my feet and make demands. If you've never been to a Grocery Outlet because you were afraid, don't be. Just be smart. Know what a fair price for an item is and check expiration dates on perishable items. I have shopped at the Auburn, Burien, Bonney Lake, Kent, Greenwood & Kenmore locations. I have found some amazing deals on some great things. I have also found items past their expiration or very near their expiration. They get closeouts from Sams club & other grocery stores. They get mismarked or discontinued items too. Good deals I found yesterday: Sara Lee Multigrain bread $.99 a loaf, Barbaras Puffins Multigrain cereal $.99 a box, lemon $.50, Pace Picante Sauce $2.00. Other than foood items they have toiletries, paper & cleaning products. They have wine & beer too. I've found some great wines here for as little as $2.99 a bottle. Only buy one til you try though as some have turned. They except returns too. Note: driveway that exits shopping complex near the Azteca has potholes the size of Texas. Avoid this driveway if you like your car to stay in one piece. They do not accept manufacturers coupons. read more

I will begin on a positive note. There are some deals to be had. Unfortunately the produce looks really scary as does the dairy and meat dept. The store is shabby, dirty and the staff behave like they're at a funeral. I think smiling or appearing at all friendly are seen as undesirable traits. The store is located next to a Good Will in a pot-hole and graffiti infested slum. Be sure to lock your car. Grocery Outlets Prey on the Uneducated/Naive/Poor Shoppers IMO I can find a lion's share of the prices cheaper at Safeway or Fred Meyers....with better selection and likely newer stock too. Even WINCO isn't the "slamdunk" lowest price anymore and the meat is subpar too. When I do shop there [on rare occasions], sometimes I get lucky and find my favorite bottled juice for half price.....potato chips and cookies are safe bets there too. The produce, meat and cheese is overpriced IMO, compared to high grade super markets' sale prices.....which I freeze BTW. The beer is unrefrigerated and that will ruin any beer in a few days, irrespective of expirey dates. read more

Which should have been no big deal, I've don't this before and they just return the items back and re do the transaction. But I went to return the items and they return the items to my EBT food, even though it came from Cash. The store is always clean and well organized and their staff is always willing to help if needed. I came into the store today and shopped for almost an hour picking out my items and when I got up to the front to pay a lady came over to me and said that another cashier or perhaps manager sent her over to me to tell me that I was not allowed in this store as someone said I was trying to take without paying. I was just here a couple of weeks ago and before that it's been well over a year since I've been at this store. I asked to speak with the manager who sent the messenger and they wouldn't get her for me as I was telling them they were making a huge mistake. When I asked for the number and name of the manager the most they did was write down the store phone number for me and proceed to tell me that I am not welcome to shop in their store anymore. Note, this was after I spent a good 50 bucks and they waited until I spent my money before deciding that I was someone I'm not. The lady even said that it was from a long time ago and it's an obvious case of mistaken identity or I wouldn't even bother writing here. If I could give less than one star I would but I am sick to my stomach and the lady behind me heard the whole thing so I'm mortified. I'm actually going to be contacting an attorney I am absolutely mortified and flabbergasted. read more

I love the grocery outlet stores. I've gone to Bellingham, federalway, auburn, Kent, and burien. They are all different, since each store is privately owned, but the Kent and auburn ones, are by far the best two I have been to. The only complaint I have is the turnover of stock. Overall I'd rather keep the turnover than pay higher prices. My family has been financially tight once or twice in the past, and the outlet saved us more than once. My mom never went, she's a brand name type of woman, but she finally got tired of me recommending it repeatedly, so she went. She's now an avid outlet shopper. She goes more than I do. Love this place! I tend to save about 20% of what I would pay shopping elsewhere. If you see a really good price on something you usually buy, be sure to get it in that trip as really good deals tend to go quickly. You might not be able to get everything you need, but you can definitely cover most of the basics (especially if you don't tend to buy meat or animal products). Only downside is some brand name items may be cheaper than elsewhere, but if you're OK with generic brands, often the price is not that much cheaper since you're getting a lower price on a brand name item and Grocery Outlet tends not to have too many generic options. read more

I find the store to be clean and easy to find items. If I could not find what I was looking for I asked a worker and they not only told me but took me to the item. And yes they are like all merchants prices vary from store to store so know a good deal when you find it. They have to keep the rent paid and the lights on so some things are more than you may expect. All in all I find the workers to be very helpful. Horrible and rude owners. Have been shopping there for several years. Recently the store was bought by new owners who are extremely rude. I go there a few times a week and have been for the past several years. I usually always have a back pack. I commute to and from work via the bus. Well today I go the grocery outlet to buy dinner as usual and about 10 minutes in of me shopping I noticed I was being followed by a woman in every isle. After a few moments she rudely approached me and demanded I give her my backpack. She didn't even initially introduce herself as the store owner. She just walked up to me and demanded my backpack. After I refused she goes to tell me the store has been dealing with theft and they are now making customers leave bags upfront. I asked if they also make people leave their purse up front, she said no and that they just watch the customers with purses. If they really wanted to prevent theft they would make customer leave their purse. Purses are easier to put items in. I would have to take off my backpack, unzip it and stuff items in then put it back on my back. Not very stealthy like a purse which remains open at your side. I'm not trusting a cashier or the store to make sure my bag is safe. I have work tools worth hundreds and important paperwork that can't be replaced. My point is, if your store has cameras in every isle then why not watch customers with backpacks? It would be pretty damn obvious they are stealing. Then you can call the police. Instead you rudely approach customers and treat them like criminals. I won't be surprised if your store loses a lot of customers with the way you treat them. I was shopping like anyone else and yet you decide to rudely demand something from me with out even introducing yourself or explaining why. You just walked up and demanded my backpack. I will be happy to never shop with you again. Even your cashiers were bad mouthing you guys in recent weeks. They don't like you at all. 1/18/15 Was told I couldn't shop today unless I turned over my book bag. When I spoke with the manager, I asked why are book bags turned over but not a woman's purse or bags they carry? " because purses are usually small" not true at all, in fact the running joke is about how much women carry today. Was given the owners card and spoke with Greg the following Monday. I pointed out to him that not applying a bag policy across the board is a form of discrimination. Greg repeatedly denied this and told me what he does for the community, which is off topic. All I asked from them is to apply it to everyone or not at all because women with a purse or other bag can steal as easily as someone with a book bag. I have been shopping at this store for over a year and have shopped with my book bag on more than four times and have never been asked for it, when I first went there I respected the policy, until I noticed it wasn't being applied equally. I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING TREATED AS A CRIMINAL, I WANT TO REPORT THE WAY THEY APPLY THIS POLICY, IT ISN'T RIGHT. read more
