I didn't get a great feeling walking in, I always felt like my Pomeranian was a burden, and the cut was never what we asked for. After this last visit, I can't in good conscience bring my dog back. In my opinion, if you don't know how to cut a particular breed, you should say that. A Pomeranian has two coats, a course undercoat, and a thinner, softer overcoat, you can not take traditional buzzers to them and if you cut the overcoat below the undercoat, it cannot grow back because the undercoat is too dense. My pom was she cut down to a "lion" cut in the middle of winter, I'll accept some blame, my grandmother dropped her off and when the groomer called back an hour later to confirm the cut type she asked, "Lion cut, right" to which my grandmother replayed, "Yes, whatever we always get," while picking up groceries at ShopRite. She didn't know what a lion cut was, and I wasn't around to answer properly, but to shave a dog down in winter is cruel, she can't even walk around the house without a sweater now and she loves the snow. It isn't the first time she's been cut too short, I can only assume because buzzers are faster than scissors, but this is by far the worst, if her overcoat grows back at all, it will take over a year. Also, the one time I did pick her up instead of my grandmother it seemed like the groomer was teasing my dog and complaining that she was afraid of the brush. I get it, it can't be the easiest thing when the dog bites the brush, but don't make fun of my dog to me, I won't be on your side. She's my baby, my poor, cold, confused baby... I am sure with bigger breeds and easier coats this groomer does a fine job, but Pomeranians are just not their strong suit. read more

My 1 year old puppy has had trouble with her past groomings, creating a difficult environment for the groomer and also displaying feelings of distress for a few days afterwards. I'm so happy to have finally found a place that works for us. No feelings of trauma after and somehow, the groomer said she was easy to work with. Plus she looks beautiful! read more

First off I came in & my dogs appointment was not written down. Thankfully they still took him. That should've been the warning sign for what came next. I told her multiple times on the phone that my dog is wild & very strong. & he would probably be a bit of a pain. (It takes 4 ppl to get his nails cut at the vet. Which I told her). So she told me $70-$80 depending on how he behaves. I walk in to pick him up & they tell me $100! We call the lady again (who I assume is the owner) & she tells us that there's an up charge of $20 if they're hard to handle. & claims she told me that on the phone. She did not. I specifically told her he would be hard to handle & she said $70-$80. Won't be coming back & suggest y'all don't come in either unless u want to be robbed. (Also couldn't even complete his service because he was too scared to get blow dried. So how do you over charge me when the full service wasn't even given?) read more

After a couple of conversations with Kelly. We finally had our first appointment for our 16 year old American Eskimo rescue today. Jack has a few "special circumstances". He's a senior with senior issues, but also has sensitive skin (so he needs special shampoo) and Lyme, which makes his joints hurt sometimes. To top it off, we get him shaved down pretty short, which is not the usual cut for his breed. Kelly listened to all of the information that I gave her about Jack. She listened about the specifics about his requested cut. I picked him up and he was quite happy, and handsome. She did a great job and we look forward to our next visit. read more

First time coming here with our two shelties and we were disappointed with both the communication and the grooming. No confirmation call in the few days before the appt, and even though I tried calling twice the day before to confirm, there was no answer. When we brought them in at 10am we were initially told they'd be done at 2pm. We called after 2pm to check in, and were told they hadn't started the cut part yet and it'd be 3:30. Then we showed up at 3:30, and were told 4:00. When they were finally finished and we got them home, they had clumps of fur still coming off them, one dog had mats behind his ears, ears weren't trimmed, their paw pads hadn't been trimmed, and I had to take a brush to them and got a huge mass of fur. See pic - that came off one dog AFTER they'd been groomed. Feel like we were charged $85/dog for a very long, very expensive, bath. Don't know if we'll be back. read more

Kelly is the only groomer we trust with our 150 pound, Newfoundland. We've tried other groomers since moving to the area and he always came home still matted and traumatized from the experience. The first time we took him to Kelly we could tell he felt right at home. He comes home looking beautiful and she always gets all of his mats. Kelly is very sweet! My dog Bailey turned out looking very neat, and was happy when we picked him up. The only thing is I wish his coat was a bit shinier, and he was cut a bit shorter than I anticipated, but he looks great! Got a phone call when he was ready, and was complete with a cute scarf! Waited a few weeks to write a review so that this isn't based in emotions, but facts. Made appt over the phone, they took down my # and I told the woman on the phone that my boyfriend would be dropping the dog off. He goes and drops our dog off and asked them if they could keep her collar on that has both my phone # and his, in case of emergency. They say no because of covid and they didn't want to have to sanitize all of the dogs collars. He then tells the women that he was the one picking her up and asked if they wanted his phone number so they wouldn't have to call me while I was at work. They say no and that they would call the number I provided over the phone. He tried to insist that I was in meetings all day and he would be picking her up and that they should call him. They declined again. He asked if they needed her vaccine records to prove she was up to date with everything. they declined again. he left and told me they would call me when they were done. 5 hours goes by and I haven't heard anything from them. I left a meeting to give them a call and immediately when I told them I hadn't heard back about my dog, they said that they had an incorrect number for me and they weren't able to reach us and my dog had been sitting there for over 2 hours. I immediately hang up and send my boyfriend to go and get her and to ask them exactly what happened since I couldn't be on my phone at work. The woman in the front was rude and aggressive when he asked where my dog had been put for those 2 hours, why they didn't take his # and how there aren't checks to ensure they have correct info. When I left work, I called again and asked to speak with the manager since my boyfriend hadn't gotten any info from the front desk woman. She told me that the manager was gone and that I was being overdramatic. I then got a phone call from the owner/manager, and her first things were to me was that "a human mistake does not need a reaction like this." I explained how we wanted answers, how our dog has been traumatized in the past from groomers and that it took months of training to get her to feel comfortable with groomers. She told me that my dog was so nervous that she took her out of the crate they put her in and let her play with another dog there and that she could have just left her in a crate. I asked how do i know that dog is vaccinated, you don't even know that my dog is up to date. She immediately got nasty with me for "accusing her of not vaccinating her dog" (the dog was the owners). The main issues I was expressing was that, there were 3 different opportunities to get both our phone numbers, that it's concerning that you don't check vet records, that your staff was nothing but rude and nasty to us and that the owner was being difficult and rude. She kept saying how i was "grasping at straws" and "trying to find any excuse to be angry". She kept saying how she tried to message me on Facebook to let me know my dog was done and that she didn't even have to try and reach out to me. I explained how i can't just sit on Facebook all day. She kept telling me that I shouldn't be angry because my dog looked good and wasn't dead. It's been a few weeks and my dog is still having a horrible anxiety flare up. read more

They charged me $10 EXTRA dollars for the SAME wash and trim my dog got the first time, I never recieved my reciept and was NOT satisfied with the request for my dog after I asked her to trim him better I still wasn't satisfied! They must be short-staffed there because after leaving 2 voicemails, I finally called a third time and got Kelly on the phone, who gave me an uncomfortably long lecture on rabies shots, even though she claims to not give her cats rabies shots....and if I don't give my cats rabies shots then her employees will have to, etc etc etc. and then puts me on hold without a warning, to then get back on the hone and continue with her lesson on rabies shots and I had to interrupt her and say "I get it! You're stressing me out. I just called to make an appointment!" I'm not bringing my cat there ever again. read more

Sorry. Wall of text -- these people seriously raised my blood pressure today. I took my 2 small (and now elderly) dogs here for ~10 years without incident, and the previous owners invariably told me they had no issues with either dog. There was a management change about a year ago; I noticed the cuts were not as good after that, but as long as my dogs are clean and comfortable, I'm not too particular about that. However, safety concerns are a whole other story. I had an appointment scheduled for Saturday, which I had to reschedule at the last minute (and I did appreciate their flexibility); I certainly didn't expect or ask that they reschedule for the next business day and would have happily waited for their next availability--whenever that was--but they offered to take them today and I assumed that meant they had an actual opening for them. I dropped them off at 10:30 this morning as requested. Around 2:30 they called to tell me it was going to take "a little more time" because they had some trouble giving my female a bath, and they were going to let her air dry in order to avoid stressing her out. I appreciated the heads-up, and what seemed to be common sense on their part. By 5:30, I'd heard nothing. I called back and asked what the status was, and they told me my male dog was finished (meaning bathed & cut, I would assume) and that my female was next to be cut. I asked whether they'd been allowed to go outside to eliminate since they'd been there such a long time. "Ummm, no. [Your male dog] peed in his crate, so he doesn't have to go. I guess I could take the other one out if you want." Dogs should *never* be left crated so long that their only option is to soil their own enclosure! Yes, of course I wanted them to take her out. That put my antennae up big time. By 6:30, still nothing. I called. The phone rang & rang. I called again. And again. I had to call 4 times and let the phone ring dozens of times before they finally picked up (and by that point I was imagining the worst). I said I was concerned about my dogs being there for so long, and told them to just finish whatever they were doing and I'd pick them up in 10 minutes. I got there to find that in fact, in over 8 hours they hadn't even started grooming either dog. They had only bathed them--something I can do in under 30 minutes total at home (for the cost of some shampoo & conditioner). Kelly, the owner, did not want to listen--only to talk over me and give excuse after excuse for why they keep falling short (as evidenced by the other negative reviews here). Some of her excuses: she's had staff turnover, she's the only groomer there, everyone wanted their dogs groomed this week (I reminded her I did not expect that, and would have much preferred to wait until they actually had time to do the job), etc. etc. etc. They wanted to charge me $80 for doing something I easily could have done at home with little/no stress to my dogs, and she and her assistant were both quite rude about that. As I was walking out the door, I told the assistant that I'd never had a single problem in 10 years of patronizing that business and would never return to them after today, and she jabbed her finger at my my 17+ year-old mostly blind dog who weighs all of 13 lbs and said, "Well, good luck finding someone to take THAT one, because she bites." Well--the previous groomers didn't have an issue with her, and neither do my vet or vet techs or dog sitters. I think it's safe to say these people are not skilled at handling elderly dogs or making them feel safe/secure--but they want to blame their incompetence on my dog? No. Just no. My female, who was always relaxed coming home from the groomers in the past, moaned and cried the whole way home and then for another 30 minutes once we got back--whether from stress or pain or both, I don't know. Both dogs dashed for the water bowl as soon as they walked in the door, and they drank and drank. I called Kelly and said I couldn't believe she clearly didn't give them access to water all day; she tried to tell me "they drank 3 bowls of water" while they were there, which I am certain is a lie. I've been living with my dogs a long time. I know them well. They do not sprint for the water bowl when they've had anything resembling reasonable access to water. I'm pretty easygoing when it comes to the small stuff (like how pretty a dog haircut is). But if you stress/scare my dogs or threaten their safety, you get momma bear. These people should *not* be working with live animals. read more

I had been bringing my pet here for over five years. The business was sold a couple of months ago, and the new owner (I believe her name is Kelly) is probably well meaning but completely unreliable. She can't even open on time with any consistency. Phone calls go unreturned. And after giving her the benefit of the doubt for a few weeks, I finally decided it was time to find another groomer. What a pity - she doesn't understand the value of keeping long term customers. I drove by last Saturday at nearly 9am - they supposedly open at 830 - and yet again, people were waiting outside because yet again, Kelly couldn't manage to open on time. read more

Kelly always did a beautiful job on my 16 1/2 year-old flatcoat retriever mix. She was sensitive to his stamina and energy issues and took care of him without exhausting him. He came home looking really good, very happy and full of energy instead of wiped out. She even got him to let her cut his toenails which he usually will not tolerate. Now she is grooming our AmStaf mix and he likes her a lot! She is a lovely, very capable, animal-loving woman. Bring your dogs. read more

Kelly is the best in town! We always feel confident leaving our dog, Woogie, with Kelly. Woogie is a coton de tulear and has a medium fluffy, cotton-like coat that is considered hair rather than fur. Her hair can mat very easily if not brushed daily. If we took Woogie to Wendy with any tangles, she would very patiently bathe, comb and blow dry her hair. Woogie always comes home smelling clean, not stressed and happy. It's a little vacation for her. :) read more

They are always very sweet to my dog when she goes for her nail clippings. However, I was disappointed to go over there today and find that they were closed, with no sign on the door or anything. I suppose I should have called first, but it's a Tuesday and they're supposed to be open. There was no indication that they were closed on their Facebook page either. read more

I love this place! The owners/workers are always so nice. They do a great job. I brought my dogs in once for a nail clipping and the woman actually told me that they nails could wait a while for the clipping. This was nice - most places would clip the nails anyway just to make a buck, even if it meant risking the dogs' health. I won't go anywhere else to have my dogs cleaned and clipped after that! The only con - sometimes it is hard to reach someone on the phone, but I have never had problems with showing up as a walk-in - they have always taken me right away! read more

I took our relatively new dog to Kelly at The Grooming Gallery last week after spending about 20 minutes on the phone with Kelly. Tara, our dog, is a 3-4 year old abused rescue we adopted 7 weeks prior and we are first time dog owners. Tara was very timid and frightened to go into the shop. Kelly spent at least 40 minutes with us just getting Tara into the door, the waiting area and finally inside the shop. After a while, I left and she was able to cut Tara's nails without a sound from the dog. I brought Tara back today for the full grooming, and it took another half hour or so to get her into the shop. Kelly took that time and was extremely patient with Tara. When I picked our dog up, she was happy and playing with Kelly, and looked gorgeous and healthy. I couldn't be happier with the way our dog looks, but more than that, the patience that Kelly had with her was a great relief for me during a time that could be traumatizing to a dog and potentially set her back on her road to leading a normal life. Kelly was absolutely wonderful! She fit in my 10 month old puppy Penny (Cockapoo) for a last minute grooming appointment and was so accommodating! When I dropped off Penny she spent a lot of time speaking with me and asking me many questions to get to know my puppy and what kind of cut I was looking for. Unfortunately, Penny had quite a few knots in her coat so I was worried her hair would be cut so short, but Kelly spent so much time with Penny to gently remove the knots and was still able to keep her coat fluffy and long! She even called me after a few hours to give me an update and let me know how Penny was doing, so sweet and thoughtful! We will definitely be back and we're so happy with Penny's new cut :) Thank you for taking such great care of Penny! read more

I brought my Golden doodle to the Grooming Gallery about a month ago. We had a horrible experience! First, they told me he would be done in about 3 hours. It ended up taking 7. I could justify that if he actually had a good cut, but his fur was COMPLETELY uneven and he looked terrible. I just brought him to the vet and even he could not believe what a horrific job they did. The worst part is that he came home with 2 wounds; one under his ear and one under his tail. They cut him so badly, that my dog had to wear a cone around his neck, in order to prevent him from further irritating and scratching them. They took 3 weeks to heal. When we picked him up, he ran out of there shaking. We soon realized why. I must say, my dog has a lot of fur and was very matted because of all of the snow we had, but we have never experienced anything like this before. I even told them that I prefer they shave him then try to get all of the knots out if they thought it would hurt him (we've had to do that in the past). Needless to say, we will NOT ever be returning to the Grooming Gallery. read more
