This is the bar area. There isn't a bad seat in this restaurant. . .

The food was fresh and prepared to perfection . The fall menu has so many incredible dishes return trips are required The hostess, our server and the bartender were professional. We had one of the best date night. Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere.

Grotto is everything and more to my taste buds. My wife and I go every year for our anniversary and we are always blown away with the consistent greatness of the flavors they put in front of us. From the complimentary bread and oil to whichever dessert you fancy, the only fall from perfection is usually into greatness with our experiences. This time around we had bread and oil, salad and crab cakes appetizers, pork and steak dinners, with brownie and carrot cake desserts. My super star line up would be the Crab cakes, Pork and Brownie, but seriously you can't go wrong. Not to mention the sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes also cooked perfectly. We always get a reservation as it's our anniversary, but it wasn't too busy on a Thursday evening. The service is always lovely, kind people with prompt service in a nice dining area. It's comfortable and quiet, very easy to chat with anyone next to you or across the table. Prices have remained fair given, well ya know, everything. There is an additional fee for credit card payments now, which I didn't see explicitly but also wasn't looking that closely. We will likely always be back at least once a year! And Now that you are on your way... Enjoy!

The Scarlet Vetter says.....I decided to have dinner here while on an out of town business trip. I really was craving some Italian food, so I scoped out possible picks on Yelp and came across this one. It looked nice, and I was very intrigued by the menu choices, so I drove to the restaurant, which was only 8 minutes from my Air B and B near the airport. I am very glad I did. I took a seat at the bar, which was small but cozy. The bartender, Patrick, confirmed that I could order food at the bar, and he gave me the wine list and the menu, and he was very attentive. I selected a nice Barolo, and he brought me a beautiful large wine glass. For an appetizer, I ordered the calamari steak, which was tender and delicious. The panko breading was not as crisp as I expected it would be, however. For my entree, I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. It was really great....just the right amount of heat and plenty of fresh seafood cooked perfectly. For dessert, I had an expresso and a slice of lemon cheesecake. The cheesecake was a rich, rich lemon flavor. Very enjoyable. I am here another night and may have to go back as the experience was very good!

Been there twice - both times with a group of 12 in the back room - and it was great. Good food, good service. We'll be back.

If you have never dined at The Old Ledge, all I can say is GET. THERE. NOW!…read more Don't be fooled by the looks of this place, I promise you, you will receive some of the best food you've ever had in your life! I stopped in on wing Wednesday, and boy, oh boy, was I in for a treat. On Wednesdays, their wings are .75 cents per wing, a minimum of 10 per order. So, in true foodie fashion, I decided to order some for "now and later." I chose their Val wings, Salt & Pepper, and Korean BBQ. We also ordered a Cheesesteak, I had been told by 2 people that this was the best cheesesteak in town, and I just had to try it for myself. Let's start with their wings. Are they a great value ? Yes! Were they amazing? Also, yes! These wings were simply great. Great size, great flavor profile, just great across the board! I can't imagine coming here and not ordering their wings. So good! You're probably thinking, well, what about the cheesesteak... well, I can assure you that the 2 people who suggested I try it did not steer me wrong. This cheesesteak was delicious!!! Full of tender steak, toppings, and loaded with cheese just how I love it. To make matters even better on Tuesdays, you can order a loaded cheesesteak & fries for only $8. The Old Ledge is truly a hidden gem. Great atmosphere, amazing bar staff, and a phenomenal cook!

This restaurant has not the best rating here on Yelp but on Google it does so off we went. We made a phone reservation. That person was personable and helpful. Upon arriving we were seated in a booth very quickly. I love the old feel of the place. They bring you complimentary bread. Soft and tasty. My hubs ordered the petite prime rib and a baked potato and I went with the salmon and also a baked. We opted for cups of soup in leu of the side salads because lettuce is a current concern in the US. Soup was delicious. My meal of salmon was incredible! My husband's prime rib was so fatty! Higher ratio of fat than meat. We informed our waitress who sent over the manager who kindly offered to rectify the problem. He decided to go with the salmon instead and enjoyed it as much as I did. Staff was friendly, apologetic and attentive. Not sure why these overall reviews aren't higher.

Worst burger I've EVER EATEN! It tasted like a frozen burger from the frozen food isle. And my bill was over $40.00 for one person, no drinks just food. Ambiance was that of a BAR! Noisy, loud. I will NOT be back. 1st and last time. Order taker said chips or F.Fries with the burger i said fries and was charged an additional $3.49!

The wings were good, plenty of sauce and good, crispy skin, soft meat texture. What blew us away was the pizza. It was just a pepperoni pizza, but somehow it had it all. Soft, plenty of sauce, the perfect amount of greasy and stretchy on the cheese, and then the whole thing had a subtle crunch to it. Never had that in a pizza before. I hate talking favorites for things as big as pizza, but this just might be my favorite Pepperoni Pizza in Syracuse. We've been back twice since then, pretty much on a whim when we happened to be passing by. First time was on a Friday, so we got some fried fish and a steak sub. We went with both the regular fried and beer battered. We ordered the philly/steak sub because it was featured on their website. We kind of know what we're going to get when we order a philly from a pizzeria, but figured it was worth trying if they're going to make it the first high def photo on their website. Despite the hype, it turned out to be the same meat, bread and cheese you get from any other pizzeria, or any other place that doesn't really go for it. The fish was actually disappointing - one of the worse fish fries we've tried in Syracuse. The regular fried haddock had a hard bread crumb coating that pulled apart from the meat. You could snap it apart to break a piece off the filet. The beer battered shrimp was better, but the breading was soft and kind of peeled right off. Fried fish and philly steaks are never a bad meal, but this is about as low as it gets without crossing into malicious. We saw multiple people raving about the eggplant parmigiana, and I wanted to try their riggies. I figured Utica, Riggies, can't go wrong. Once again, we were in town, and it was on a Thursday, where they have a few dollars off. The riggies hit the requirements with the creamy sauce, the cherry peppers, the wicked tender chicken, and the peppers and onions were a good addition. My only complaint is that they weren't better coming from a place named Utica Pizza Company. They were exactly average - sauce could have been creamier, hotter, more flavorful. The eggplant parmigiana turned out to be nothing special, I'm not sure why people raved about it. Just an inch or two of thin sliced eggplant, breaded, cheesed and red sauced. With that last sentence as your recipe, you could make the same thing at home. We also threw in a medium buffalo chicken pizza, which was really good, but didn't have the same amazing texture the first pizza did. I had high expectations for this place, so if it seems like I'm complaining, it's definitely better than your average pizzeria. I'm sticking with five stars because the pepperoni pizza we got was absolutely perfect. We've been working our way through pizza places in Syracuse for years and this one stands out hard. Take or leave the other stuff, but absolutely get a large pepperoni and some wings.

Riggies are non authentic. Service was good. Not sure how a Utica place misses on a riggie but they…read moredid.
