Wasn't for us. We like customer service, which is hard to come by almost anywhere. I HATE ordering through QR codes! Server never came to check on us and didn't know where to find where to refill your water yourself, we hoped the server might actually do that as we had empty cups during our meal. Bison Huckleberry burger was salty, gave me a stomach ache and felt sick after. Next time we're in town, we'll go to a place with glassware, good food, service and human interaction! read more

I want this place to be successful many have come and gone at this location. I went yesterday and someone was changing a diaper at the table next to us while we were eating. No fault of the business but geez! Today we came and asked for a menu and the female server said "They are over there." Pointing to where the menus are and then walking away. We all Paused in a bit of shock. All ordering is done online through a QR code. It is get your own silverware, napkins, order yourself so if you enjoy doing it all yourself on vacation this is the place for you. (I was a server in another lifetime and things have changed!) We are locals and I would rather have someone take my order than direct me where to get a menu with no assistance. The outdoor area is nice and the food was decent. I went back to back days cause friends wanted to try it. We all had the same opinion no frills-meh. Maybe some fine tuning and advising servers to get a menus or do something if asked many elderly can't order off an app. The prices are basically the same as others in town and they asked for a tip like anywhere else, but you do most of the work. read more

In town visiting my grandson plus his mom and dad. Us boys decided to give this new place a try so we headed out for dinner. Nice atmosphere and a wide variety on the menu. Our waiter was very helpful and took good care of us. If this wasn't an 11 day old business I would have been a little harsher, but I think they'll keep moving in the positive direction. We wanted to try the Mozz Nuggets but they ran out. We order a Bison burger and protein bowl, plus kids Mac and Cheese. For our appetizer we ordered the truffle fries. Although the bison burger tastes well I think it was smaller than a 1/4 pounder or so over cooked it shrunk. The huckleberry bacon jam was very good and I would try it again. The protein bowl was a surprise item as no other place in whitefish has one. It was enjoyable. The beers were cold and once again it was pretty good. If they were a more established, I would have given them 3 stars. I know they'll improve and be one a great established food joint in Whitefish read more

I went for a hike this morning and after I was done I noticed Grouchy Grizzly just opened up here in Whitefish and I had to go check it out. Living here I always love when new spots open to try. Quick heads up before you go, there's no "waiters" here. You seat yourself, you get your own water, you get your own silverware, and you order everything through an app. Even your drink, they hand you a cup and you go fill it up yourself at the fountain. Which did take me about 10 minutes to figure out since I didn't read the signs haha. So if you're looking for that classic sit down full service experience, this isn't it. But once your food actually comes out, it comes out fast, and someone does swing by to check on you and grab your plates, so it's not totally hands off. I got the big mozz nuggets to start and then the burger. For what this place is, which is a big open American spot built for grabbing a bunch of drinks and food with friends, it delivers. The food was consistent and decent across the board. The burger itself was good. The fries were cooked good. The sauces and condiments were dialed in and the bun was honestly incredible. My only knock is the beef patty itself left a little to be desired, it had that Cisco sourced feel to it and mine came out a touch overcooked. Everything else on that burger though was really, really solid. I was also totally food stalking everyone sitting around me and can say with certainty I will be back to try a few other things. All the other food looked incredible. The decor in this place is amazing too, they clearly put real thought into the space. Overall I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Great vibe, great location, solid food, just know going in that this is an order through the app kind of setup and not a traditional service experience. I also just for fun decided to do some internet stalking on who opened it and based on their track record of success all over the country I would bet it stays consistent and continues to improve. read more

The bison burgers are amazing and a go-to. Fries are good, they could use less salt. Rice needed to be cooked with much less oil, way too rich. Brews on tap are great. The Lewis heff is a nice wheat beer type. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere is second to none. read more

Really liked the food. Steak tips were a great call. Marination was really good and was cooked very well. Sauce that came with was perfect and old school crinkle cut fries hit the spot. Side mustard with the steak was not special. Sauce is better. We also got the huckleberry bison burger was good and dressing was really good. We had some other menu items also that didn't disappoint. You order with QR which was the only negative as there is limited interaction for questions or suggestions, but I understand why. Nice atmosphere, nice people, easy parking, and TVs if you want to watch a game. Would definitely recommend. read more

Nicely decorated and a great outdoor patio. Ordering can be confusing especially for older folks less familiar with online ordering. There are paper menus available and they do take in-person orders at the bar. They are also very good about checking up if you are able to connect. Self-service is the key here. The food was very good. We had the prime dip with fries and one with tater tots and the steel-head trout which came out as salmon. Deducting a point since no one came and asked if that was ok. Well, the food was good, the menu and the prices were good. But there was no service. You have to order on your phone get your own utensils and drink drinks. It's like going to McDonald's you place your order they deliver your order. Received my salad, prime, dip, and ice cream dessert all at the same time. Ate my salad first, but my sandwich got cold by the time I got done with my sandwich. My ice cream was milk. Using a QR code is very difficult to change or inquire about anything. Doubt if I will return until there's table service. And I'm sure that will be coming soon. read more

Came in for dinner and was very impressed! The nachos were huge and the prime rib sliders were by far the best I've had! They have a great beer and wine selection as well.
