This ended up being one of my favorite coffee stops in New York. There are countless coffee shops throughout the city, but this was one of the few places where I immediately felt comfortable enough to stay awhile since it wasn't packed inside. We ordered a nitro cold brew and an iced flat white with oat milk. The nitro cold brew was different than what I'm used to. Most cold brews I drink have a more dark and slightly bitter profile, but this one was a lot brighter and more acidic. The iced flat white was the real winner for me!! It was one of the best coffee drinks I had during my trip. The oat milk paired perfectly with the espresso and was v smooth and nutty New York coffee shops can feel suuuper crowded and difficult to find a seat in but this space was warm and cozy and comfortable seating. It wasn't overwhelmingly busy. It was a great place to sit and recharge. read more

love ground central because it is one of the few spacious cafes that lets you work as long as you want - there is ample seating and the wifi is consistent - the food selection is quite limited but the coffee is good, however, they make it HOT. my americano sat for 15 minutes undrinkable, even my friends mocha with more milk was a hazard zone. - the music can be a little loud but varies based on where you sit. read more

Cozy coffee shop with lots of seating. I enjoyed my latte and was able to find a table to work at fairly quickly. There's a lively chattery ambiance makes for good white noise. Docking off a star because this place isn't that great to work unless you're doing offline work. My VPN refused to connect to their wifi and even basic non-VPN apps weren't loading due to security issues with the network. You can use the LINK NYC network if you're sitting closer to the door but that slowed me down on VPN. read more

Unfortunately, the internet wasn't working during my visit, so I wasn't able to take a meeting or work remotely. A clean, friendly spot for coffee and a bite. I was in the neighborhood before an early morning meeting and needed the morning cuppa. The barista was friendly and encouraged the house Nutella banana bread, yet I was hesitant for that much sugar. I went with the croissant (from one of several bakeries in the city) and would next time go with the house recommendation. Croissant was neither soft nor flaky, and the ends were of equal texture to the middle of the "bar" - no crescent shape should have been a sign. That said, GCC looks like a comfy place to hang and do some work, and the coffee is worth the visit. read more

Honestly, one of the best almond milk mochas I've had in the city! What made it even better was sharing it over great conversation with my girls. I had coffee here on the way to the theater. It was okay I had the cortado and a stale piece of sweet bread, it was a large cube. I don't know if it wasn't fresh, or if that was the intended texture. There are couches, bookshelves, and this cozy dark space in the back that's perfect for reading or working. It's definitely one of those picture worthy cafes. The coffee itself is slightly above average. It's good, but not something I'd go out of my way for. Their espresso is fine but nothing that stands out. I came here to work remote on a weekday afternoon, and wow it was busy lol. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was how loud it was from people chatting, coffee grinding, and music playing. It was busy, but I was still able to find a seat near an outlet right away, and there were usually a couple open seats or people just had to wait a few min for someone to leave. There were a few outlets around the tables in the front space, and I saw some cozy looking chairs and couches in the back, though this area was full for the duration of my stay. I ordered a simple drip coffee, which was nothing special but kept me awake through my post-lunch slump. While the seating situation was good, the free WiFi was kind of spotty. My laptop connected but never had full bars so my Zoom and Teams weren't running properly, and Google chrome kept blocking me saying that the connection wasn't protected. I ended up hotspotting from my phone instead because I was too lazy to look up somewhere else to go and figured other coffee shops would be full in the afternoon, but I probably wouldn't come back here to work. It was also so loud from all the people chatting in the background, so it was distracting for me when I was in meetings. This is a decent spot to work offline without meetings or to catch up with friends, but if you need to be in meetings I would find somewhere else to post up. read more

I really enjoyed my matcha latte here yesterday! A dear friend and I hadn't seen each other in years and decided to catch up while he was in town over coffee/tea. This provided the perfect location! For the area, this coffee shop is more of a boutique vibe and very different from the many chains in this area. There was a good amount of seating for a smaller shop. We had no problem getting a table for two at 4 PM. I had an iced matcha latte with oat milk. It was not sweet, which is how I like it! The balance of flavor was perfect and I would totally order it again. My only negative was that it was very warm and humid in the store. It is super hot right now, so it would have been nice to have stronger AC, especially for those of us sitting inside. I look forward to going back and trying their espresso next time! read more

The physical shop itself is nice. The 3 empemployees inside can kick rocks. They have crappy attitudes and could care less to attempt a try at a being polite. As I walked in, the three were going on and on about seeing their psychologist and other crap. Super comfortable shop, lots of bar and table seating out front and then the library area in the back filled with books and comfortable couches and chairs. I love the decor here and as always the staff was super friendly. Ordered a chai for the first time as I usually do cold brew and it was one of the best chais I've had in a really long time, absolutely perfect for a miserable day with record rainfall. Also tried the banana bread with Nutella. I'm not usually the biggest Nutella fan, but this was delicious! Banana bread was super moist and flavorful and the Nutella wasn't overpowering. This is my favorite coffee shop in Manhattan, right near Central Park in Hell's Kitchen. All the walls are unique artwork specific to the culture of the neighborhood.
