I tried their Nightingale and it was delicious with notes of earl grey mixed into a creamy milk and espresso concoction, giving it a tea and espresso flavor profile. I paired it with their black sesame square and it was heavenly. The texture and flavor was nice and soft and pleasant to eat. Overall I enjoyed my visit to Bird & Branch. The service was quick and easy going as well. It was super small and not easy to have a seat in as all the tables and seating were occupied, including customers putting their bags and holding it unnecessarily. Accepts cash, card and Applepay. A beautiful cafe in Hells Kitchen. Can get crowded in the morning but what cafe doesn't, you know? The service is great and helpful. The coffee and baked goods were delicious. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a great place to stay and sit as the seating can be limited, but I don't think that's a bad thing! The shop gets your order in a reasonable time, which allows you to explore the neighborhood. read more

Everything here is great!! I've come here several times now and everything I've tried has been really good - I recently got a latte and the blondies. The latte was smooth, hot, delicious and no bitterness. The blondies were moist, crumbly, and had delicious spices. And everything is extremely reasonably priced. Great spot off the beaten path and away from Time Square. Super chill vibes seats about 15 people kind of small, but works perfectly for the area. I came in around 11:30 and there was no line only one person ahead of me. The egg sandwich was absolutely delicious. The egg comes extremely fluffy. I added avocado for a nice finishing touch. My acid reflux won't allow me to have spicy so I just got one without the chili sauce although it sounds like it would be a delicious edition. I sought out a spot like this because I was growing tired of the crap food from Time Square. This place was perfect! I will definitely come again. read more

The baristas were the sweetest people ever. I ordered the nightingale latte w the earl grey. I personally wasn't a big fan of the nightingale latte, so I asked if they could make me a blackbird latte w the blackberries. They gladly made it for me, and the blackbird latte was delicious. I also got a ginger and molasses cookie, and it was the softest, most delicious ginger cookie I've had. It literally melted in my mouth. This place is a cute hidden gem. This is a cute hidden find on the edge of the Theater District. Needed to find a slot to kill time in between appointments and didn't want to go somewhere that I would t be able to get a seat so did a quick google search for Hells Kitchen and thought this would fit the bill which is did. I don't know what it is about this place, but I absolutely love coming here. I ALWAYS get the Blackbird, which has espresso, almond macadamia nut milk, thyme, and obviously, blackberry. It is absolutely delicious. I've also come here for the egg sandwich, with the additions of rou-song and avocado. Believe the pictures, it really is that soft, fluffy and delicious. Back during the Covid era there was a larger seating area outside. It was great to be able to hang out and marvel at the trees, the birds, and nature (in the city, hah). That seating area is dramatically reduced, but my love for Bird & Branch is not. I make the effort to drop by whenever I'm in town. read more

Nice little cafe but seating is limited. Everyone comes out really fast and staff are great. Solid coffee but some of the signatures might not be for everyone. An example would be the nightingale. Such an adorable little cafe on 45th. My usual coffee place next door to the apt shut down temporarily while they open up a new location so I went on the hunt for another local place. Bird and Branch did not disappoint. They have a wonderful selection of seasonal drinks as well as a unique selection of regular offerings. Their pastry case was also calling to me, and I would have gotten something if I hadn't just come from lunch. Service was quick and friendly. I look forward to coming back to try new things. I love going on food adventures because i get to discover places like Bird & Branch. Love their unique menu and I had a hard time deciding. The board in the front laying out the egg sandwich made me want to order one and I did. Interesting sandwich and my thoughts are that the egg is steamed well, but the ginger scallion sauce is very overwhelming and takes over everything. The brioche also can use a warm up to make it soft and fluffy. I also ordered the house blend almond and Mac nut latte. Delicious - I drank it very fast. The last item I ordered was the miso rice krispy treat which is a big hit. I love the balance that the miso gives to the usual sweetness of a treat. Amazing! This is a cool oasis from a busy city. It is my favorite cafe in New York City. The mochi cake is a sweet dessert that I can have for my entire life, sweet enough to brighten my day but subtle enough to feel good about it, the best outcome created by hands from "sweet rice" and butter. Another must have is the "egg sandwich" seasoned with scallions and soy sauce within brioche buns. The perfect combination of best flavors from the globe. Will be attempting to gate keep this spot- it's just too good. Prices are on the high end but seem to reflect an extremely high quality of food and drink. I had a black iced coffee, which was bright, flavorful, and refreshing. I appreciated the small touches of a glass cup and a metal straw: little details that are both environmentally friendly and elevated the experience. I didn't try any specialty drinks but I was extremely tempted by the unique and delicious sounding flavor profiles. It's midtown, so seating is obviously a bit limited, but the shop is laid out well to maximize space. Turnover was high enough while I was there that pretty much everyone got a spot. read more

Unpopular opinion, but the drinks here were a miss :(. Really loved how cute the interior was (the moss art was super cool) and the overall vibes, and it seemed like the setup for making the drinks was really well-kept and fancy. I ordered the Blackbird (blackberry thyme latte with housemade almond macadamia milk), and I was excited to try their housemade milk, but unfortunately, I couldn't taste any of the blackberry or thyme, and the whole drink just came off as a more acidic coffee with none of the latte mouthfeel. Also got an unsweetened matcha latte and was excited because they use Ippudo matcha, but the drink literally tasted like plain milk. I gave it to someone else to try with their eyes closed, and they thought they were drinking a cup of plain milk. The drinks and interior are beautiful, but for the price and the flavor, it was absolutely not worth it :( read more

a random "coffee near me" search brought Bird & Branch to my attention - a very cute space with a couple tables inside & outside. the neighborhood definitely knows more than I do as we had to snag a table with dedication & haste - the Americano came with a literal do-it-yourself set up that was adorable & made the drink feel much fancier than just espresso with water. The espresso was slightly sour, but you could tell the almond milk was quality - their Nightingale drink was really interesting. it had a savory Earl Grey milk, which made it kind of taste like a savory bubble tea. add a pack of sugar and if you're looking for a sweeter coffee, this will do much more for you. - we both got the classic breakfast sandwich, add avocado on one. the workers stuck with our questions gave recommendations and smiles so kudos to them for being kind - the eggs were a thick fluffy square block. they were sandwiched between two buns that were slightly brioche like & maybe as fluffy as the eggs! there was a slight kick of the soybean chili but it was more salty the spicy. it was cancelled out but a thin layer of mayo. I wish there was more sauce to make those unique flavors pop! read more

Was on the hunt for a cute coffee shop when I found this one. While the seating inside was limited, it was a gorgeous day to hang on the benches outside. What was a surprise was the innovative coffee drinks and food options. A little overwhelming but I loved seeing something new and different! I went with the seasonal option and it was delightful. Happened to meet and chat with the owner while outside and loved hearing they've been in business for 7 years and even survived through the pandemic. We need more places like this! After we enjoyed a show on Broadway, this was a cute stop for unique and eclectic caffeinated beverage options! I had the matcha brownie and the matcha latte with oat milk and the double matcha was an awesome choice! The brownie was very tasty but not too sweet at all and the latte was the same. They used steel straws (reusable in the house!) and made their drinks with love efficiently. The vibe inside is nice with space to sit and look around at local shopping finds from stickers to mugs and nick-nacks.
