Hojicha latte
Christina L.

An adorable cafe in Hell's Kitchen with reasonable prices and yummy drinks! My favorite is the hot Hojicha latte + chocolate syrup to make a Hojicha hot chocolate. It's just a perfect drink for the winter and tastes amazing too!

Amazing coffee. Interesting options. I loved the blackbird, I've never had anything like it! The firefly was just okay - I would say it's not for every palate, which is obvious by the hodgepodge of ingredients it has. If you're looking for something new - you have to try it! Seating is quite limited and wouldn't recommend this place for working.

Everything here is great!! I've come here several times now and everything I've tried has been really good - I recently got a latte and the blondies. The latte was smooth, hot, delicious and no bitterness. The blondies were moist, crumbly, and had delicious spices. And everything is extremely reasonably priced. The workers are always extremely friendly and helpful and it looks like a nice spot to work since they have a good amount of seats.

Mmmmm. Decaf cappuccino was beautiful and tasty. Earl Grey,,too. But the cheddar & scallion scone was crazy good. Moist (haha). Soooo delicious.

This is a cute hidden find on the edge of the Theater District. Needed to find a slot to kill time in between appointments and didn't want to go somewhere that I would t be able to get a seat so did a quick google search for Hells Kitchen and thought this would fit the bill which is did. Small, but plenty of seats, music not loud, and clean. I ordered decaf moccahino with 1% milk which sucks in paper but tasted great. Recommend

Dragonfly latte

Loved stopping by this cosy cafe on a Sunday morning. The place was packed and had a delicious aroma of coffee wafting right into the streets! We chose the dragonfly latte out of their seasonal menu and loved the kick of gochujang. Such a unique flavor! Also loved the walnut honey ricotta toast and black sesame kouigh amman. Cannot wait to visit again!

The Robin was so far the best turmeric latte I've had in the city. Nice flavor and consistency. And it wasn't too sweet even though it has honey. Service was good and I liked the ambiance. Would highly recommend.

Great spot off the beaten path and away from Time Square. Super chill vibes seats about 15 people kind of small, but works perfectly for the area. I came in around 11:30 and there was no line only one person ahead of me. The egg sandwich was absolutely delicious. The egg comes extremely fluffy. I added avocado for a nice finishing touch. My acid reflux won't allow me to have spicy so I just got one without the chili sauce although it sounds like it would be a delicious edition. I sought out a spot like this because I was growing tired of the crap food from Time Square. This place was perfect! I will definitely come again.

Such an adorable little cafe on 45th. My usual coffee place next door to the apt shut down temporarily while they open up a new location so I went on the hunt for another local place. Bird and Branch did not disappoint. They have a wonderful selection of seasonal drinks as well as a unique selection of regular offerings. Their pastry case was also calling to me, and I would have gotten something if I hadn't just come from lunch. Service was quick and friendly. I look forward to coming back to try new things. We got the dirty horchata and the nightingale this trip.

Matcha and coconut

My son treated me to this very pricey matcha coconut drink. Very delicious, light and refreshing. The fresh coconut chunks were so good to eat after drinking the matcha.

I love going on food adventures because i get to discover places like Bird & Branch. Love their unique menu and I had a hard time deciding. The board in the front laying out the egg sandwich made me want to order one and I did. Interesting sandwich and my thoughts are that the egg is steamed well, but the ginger scallion sauce is very overwhelming and takes over everything. The brioche also can use a warm up to make it soft and fluffy. I also ordered the house blend almond and Mac nut latte. Delicious - I drank it very fast. The last item I ordered was the miso rice krispy treat which is a big hit. I love the balance that the miso gives to the usual sweetness of a treat. I'll have to play around with this when I make my rice krispy treat. Casual. Indoor seating. Great service. Please come and create your own adventure.

A thank you letter I left for the Cafe staff!

Amazing! This is a cool oasis from a busy city. It is my favorite cafe in New York City. The mochi cake is a sweet dessert that I can have for my entire life, sweet enough to brighten my day but subtle enough to feel good about it, the best outcome created by hands from "sweet rice" and butter. Another must have is the "egg sandwich" seasoned with scallions and soy sauce within brioche buns. The perfect combination of best flavors from the globe. The coffee beans are handpicked and well presented for a patron to choose what is the right kind for that moment! Always perfectly made with ultimate care!

Blackbird

Unpopular opinion, but the drinks here were a miss :(. Really loved how cute the interior was (the moss art was super cool) and the overall vibes, and it seemed like the setup for making the drinks was really well-kept and fancy. I ordered the Blackbird (blackberry thyme latte with housemade almond macadamia milk), and I was excited to try their housemade milk, but unfortunately, I couldn't taste any of the blackberry or thyme, and the whole drink just came off as a more acidic coffee with none of the latte mouthfeel. Also got an unsweetened matcha latte and was excited because they use Ippudo matcha, but the drink literally tasted like plain milk. I gave it to someone else to try with their eyes closed, and they thought they were drinking a cup of plain milk. The drinks and interior are beautiful, but for the price and the flavor, it was absolutely not worth it :(

Didn't love the hoji brownies. They didn't seem fresh at all. But the place was friendly (and busy) so maybe this was a "me" problem

Do you guys have outdoor dining?

Hi, we have several benches outside the shop for seating, though no outdoor table service or in-street seating due to construction the summer.

Do you guys have restrooms?

Sorry, we do not have a restroom at the shop.

Considering this place for a business meeting, are there a lot of seats available?

Hi Rosemary, Thanks for reaching out! We have a total of about 16-18 seats, depending on how…

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
