Purchased the breakfast biscuit today. The biscuit taste like dawns soap. I highly suggest the staff testing this batch because I don't think it is supposed to taste like this. If it is, I highly recommend not ordering it unless you want the flavor of soap in your mouth.

Ground hideout coffee is a coffee shop on the corner of E 4th street with indoor and outdoor seating. I came here with my family of four to grab a quick bite before a road trip. The staff was friendly and able to make some good recommendations. I got the sunrise sandwich and cookie butter latte. The cookie butter latte came with a biscoff cookie on top which made it look really cute. It was not overly sweet which I appreciated. The sunrise sandwich had a house made habanero jam which provided a good amount of heat. The arugula was a nice fresh ingredient addition atop the crispy bacon. If I lived in the area I would surely be back because this place was delicious!

Rose matcha tea- so good and so pretty

The matcha is pretty good here. I got fancy and tried their summer special: matcha mango - but without the syrup cuz I don't like my drinks too sweet. The mango cold foam was sweet enough and delicious. Not pictured is the vegetarian breakfast burrito I got , came with salsa verde (love that)- so filling and tasty. It was perfectly soft and crispy at the same time. Very cute small shop, big beautiful windows, and they had some outdoor seating as well. Only street parking mostly metered.

I placed a pick up order for 8:15 am and upon entering the establishment, the person at the register didn't say anything when I went up to the counter. He just had a blank stare and I started the conversation by saying goodmorning. Blank stare. I told him my name and that I placed my order online. Blank stare again and he walked away and came back to hand my drink and the only words I heard during this very awkward interaction was "here you go" and thats it. The Carrot Cake Latte was nothing special and the flavors clash with the weak espresso taste. I don't think I could justify the price and lack of service to return.

Cute little coffee shop on a corner, plenty of street parking and seating inside and outside. Neither drinks were really strong a little bit on the sweeter side. Drinks were out really quickly and service was quick too. It's worth another visit !

The drinks were amazing and food was spectacular. Portions seem small, but they are very filling. The owner was welcoming and gave us great recommendations. The ambience is excellent. The layout is very open and has great natural lighting. Highly recommend!

I tried their cappuccino and enjoyed sitting inside the cafe. They use a blend of a light roast espresso. While it's a nice cup of cap, it's very smooth taste of espresso while I like mine to be more espresso forward cap. Breakfast options, sandwiches and pastries available Service was friendly and quick. Ambiance is nice inside and out. They also have coffee making accessories available for sale as well as candles and tea.

Gave this place a try and it was pretty okay. It's a nice quaint little coffee shop! The staff were really nice. Theres some seating inside and outside! I got the carrot cake latte, which was actually very delicious! The coffee tasted smooth and the cream cheese cold foam was sooooo good! We also got a matcha with sugar free vanilla syrup, but it was kind of disappointing. Maybe it was an off day, but it tasted sort of sour and a bit weird.

Bacon, egg, cheddar, biscuit. Fresh amazing biscuit.

The biscuit is homemade and absolutely amazing. I got mine with scrambled egg instead of over easy. I told the young lady that I like mocha and sweet. She recommended strawberry cold foam, and then little less sweetener in the white mocha. It still had that great coffee taste, a little sweet, and then that hint of fresh strawberry. It was so absolutely amazing, I ordered another one for the road on my travels.

At the corner of 4th & Elm, you'll find a wonderful coffee joint where you can feel right at home. Pretty fast service that comes with a smile. Great indoor vibes, but it's even better outside to people watch the very vibrant and diverse community in this part of DTLB. I enjoyed my pistachio latte. Their other menu items look and smells amazing. Definitely worth coming back!

I found this place on Yelp and was so excited to try! I seem good reviews here and on TikTok. My sister and I finally got around to trying it. It's a quaint coffee shop in the heart of downtown Long Beach. I was lucky to find street parking. Upon arrival, I wasn't impressed or disappointed. Everything was pretty standard. They had a regular menu and limited time or seasonal menu. The service was sub par. Kind of dry but they were kinda busy. I ordered two drinks, the smores and brown butter or sugar one. The smores had more flavor (I asked for extra sweet on both) the browned butter one was nothing spectacular. They were smooth but didn't have a strong coffee profile. I don't think it was good enough to go back but I can see why the locals enjoy it.

Great vibes, solid coffee, & solid breakfast sandwich. Friendly service! The breakfast sandwich was the star! The brioche bun, sweet & spicy jam, bacon, egg, tomato , greens, and red onion all came together perfectly!!

Camp fire latte (?) It had a SINGLE melted marshmallow.

If you weren't looking hard enough, you can easily miss this place. I dont know if it play on word in part that "Hideout" is a part of their name or it just happens to be that difficult to find. Just be aware. Customer service is great. The pastries looked fresh. The interior looked clean. The coffee... it was okay. I can say it won't be my go-to place for coffee considering how competitive coffee is in Long Beach, but I would still say to check them out.

Not a super huge fan of French cuisine; however, the menu looked good and mostly reasonable prices. Restaurant is super cute with indoor/outdoor seating. We started off with a bottle of cab (41.00, ouch)! It was noted as a different brand on their menu and they came with a bottle of Josh Cellars which isn't a bad table wine but about 3 times the price! We ended up ordering the fondue for the app (24.00) which comes with bite size pieces of bread and diced apples. It was ok, a little too runny and had an interesting hint of beer flavor. Next up we both ordered the brie & prosciutto sandwich which came with a side of au gratin and greens. The sandwich was excellent but the potatoes were cold. We ended our meal sharing creme brulee for dessert. It was good but also served cold. Total bill incl tip: 163.00 bucks (double ouch)! Overall, meal and service was good, but I would forego the wine on a future visit as it was way overpriced for the brand we got as well as the cheese fondue. Will definitely be back though. Very comfy and charming atmosphere.

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! Not to worry, her Blueberry Lavender Latte was also top-notch, with a smooth, not-to-sweet flavor combination. The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.
