Tried this place out for brunch on a Saturday morning and LOVED IT! My husband ordered the kimchi fried rice and I got the chilaquiles. Both were great but the fried rice was the greatest thing ever. We also got the sunrise mimosas which had champagne, Don Julio 1942, fresh orange juice. They were amazing. So while the service is really great and the presentation is decent, the food was really lacking in flavor also every single plate I ordered was missing an ingredient in it. Example- I ordered the sunset avocado bowl there was no dressing and they forgot the poached egg, when I asked for the egg when it came out it was not poached. The first time I went I ordered the prime sirloin skillet and instead of it tasting like prime sirloin it tasted more like Mongolian styled dish, for 16 dollars I was expecting more of a medium rare sirloin but it came out more sweet than savory and the cut of the meat was really choppy. I love the concept I think the kitchen needs to pay more attention to the food before it goes out and maybe a few adjustments need to be made to the menu. read more

Visiting family in El Paso and we decided to try out Grove for some brunch. We ordered the Grove Benedict, 2 Steak Benedict, and a couple kids items. When they were bringing our food out one of their servers bumped some fries off onto their counter. She proceeded to pick them up with her bare hands and put them back onto our plates. When I called her out about it in front of her manager who witnessed it she denied it until I told her I watched her do it. They ended up remaking our food and apologized profusely. They also ended up removing it from our bill which I appreciate. They get an added star for that. The other reason why it's still only 3/5 is because 3/6 eggs in our Benedict's were over hard. read more

Just finished having breakfast for the first time here and I gotta say, it was freaken awesome!! So excited to visit more often. The decor is a mix of earthy elements and manmade tiles. With cool bar sitting or the choice of the extended outside seating for dinning. The booths are comfortable with cool weaved seating to offset the darker faux leather on the booth side. As you look toward the ceiling you find perfectly cut wooden branches made from trees locally grown here. (I think) We where served complimentary water to start. I then ordered the latte which was delicious and served with thick good looking foam and nice heavy utensils, not the cheap stuff, which really matters when you have standards of a nice looking establishment. Breakfast was the MADAME CROQUE which is black forest ham between two Texas sizes toast. Covered in a creamy cheese sauce and a fried egg on top. My description doesn't do it justice. But it was well worth the try. A side of fresh fruit finishes the dish. If you haven't tried you should. You wont regret it, atleast I know I'll definitely be back but the next time will be seated outside! read more

Lovely place with friendly staff and disappointing food. Everything we tried was underwhelming. We kept reaching for the salt and pepper to get some flavor. The tastiest thing I tried was a side of potatoes. My pancakes were dry and crumbly. (I've never had pancakes I did not enjoy) I really wonder who signed off on the recipe for the chilaquiles.. we kept adding salt and pepper since they were soooo bland. I never saw a manager check in on any table. Our server was very nice but I wish staff was more mindful of empty glasses/drinks. Hopefully it improves overall because it really is a nice place. The atmosphere was relaxing as my family and I sat outside in the patio while a rare cool breeze made the evening more enjoyable. We started with Angie's Eggplant which was delicious and a must try. The food we ordered was equally tasty and I would recommend that you ask the staff what they recommend as they are friendly and extremely helpful. What a treat in my own backyard! Great atmosphere and food. Loved the kimchi rice and buchingae. The buchingae is spicy! Oh and the Bloody Mary was perfect too! Bad mistake. Since we liked the Angie's Eggplant, we decided to order it again. First of all, the presentation was different from the first time we ordered the dish (no biggie). This time, it was much saltier (that was an issue). Rate: 4/5 We also ordered the charred edamame. This was the greasiest and saltiest edamame I have ever tried, and let me tell you, I've tried lots of edamame. I have to give it to them, despite the fact that it was over salted and very greasy, I loved the charred taste it had. Rate: 2/5 Lastly, we ordered the cheese board, and I have to say, this was the biggest disappointment. First of all, it was $22, making it the most expensive dish on the menu, and the biggest disappointment of our night. It came with three cheap kinds of cheese, one piece of white toast cut up into four slices, a small cup filled with nuts most likely purchased from Sam's Club, five crackers, 1/4 an apple, a few slices of meat, and a little cup filled with jam. I am an avid lover of cheese boards, but let me tell you, this was the worst cheese board I have ever had in my culinary experience. It looked like a kid set it up in the kitchen. Rate: 1/5 For our entree, I ordered the soup of the day, which happened to be sweet potato soup. I personally loved this warm savory yet sweet soup. No complaints on this end. Rate: 5/5 My mom ordered the Prime Sirloin Skillet. When I tell you there were only four bites of steak in this dish, I am not kidding. The entire dish was filled with potatoes and green beans. The flavor was alight, but I don't believe The Grove should have been advertising this dish as a "prime sirloin skillet" when there were only four bites of sirloin. Rate: 1/5. This is a great new restaurant on the West side of town with a delicious, unique menu, great service, and friendly, attentive staff. Our server, Teresa, welcomed us and made perfect suggestions. I had the Kimchi fried rice, my Mom had the Grove eggs benedict, and my Dad had the Croque Madame. We started with the Jicama Pork Belly Tacos which were outstanding. We were all thrilled with our meals. The flavors were very unique and represented the diverse background of the owners. One of the owners, Sung, came by and explained the background of this new restaurant and made sure we were pleased with our meals. We certainly were and we will be back! read more

For Brunch, my friend ordered the Jicama pork Tacos. He loved them and said they were very tasty. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't as pleased with my food. Low standards and untrained staff. Will not return. We met for a business lunch, and were completely underwhelmed. Clearly there was no manager on site that cared about running a good restaurant. Even though there were only 3 tables occupied at lunch, there were it seemed several hostesses. Menu is a female focused frufru affair, with salads, a few sandwiches and some vague thing called a bowl. Waitress clearly had never been trained whatsoever to greet guests. She could not describe a bowl on the menu, and had to be asked for iced tea 3 times. The salad was small and uninspired, the burger was a junior sized joke, with limp soggy cold fries, and the bowl was a couple of piles of chopped vegetables and some unidentified grain...maybe barley. The owners clearly don't care, the management is unaware and the staff is better trained at Whataburger. read more

Went on a busy Thursday night as usual. Absolutely no complaints always a good atmosphere. I do have to point out the hostess that is always there (Not sure her name, think her name is victoria) anyways she always does a magnificent job in making us feel welcome, she for sure is the face of the restaurant in our experiences so far. Heard about this restaurant from a friend so I was excited to try it out. The layout of the restaurant is amazing, I instantly fell in love with the outside seating, as well as inside. We were promptly greeted, given water and our menus. Everything on the menu sounded really good. My son and brother opted for the chicken and waffles. I ordered the shakshuka and my sister the chilaquiles. The chicken and waffles were really amazing I loved them after trying some of my sons, he really enjoyed them too. Sadly, my shakshuka was a fail. It was really just a ton of tomato sauce and some runny egg and toast. No veggies, barely any egg I honestly took a few bites and didn't finish it. The chilaquiles were good, I really liked the red sauce had a lot of flavor but if you prefer more spicy go for the green it's really good too. It did take a while to get our food and didn't really like that our plates didn't all arrive together we had to wait about 5-10 minutes for the rest of the plates. To top it off it took about 15 minutes to get our checks and another 10 for her to pick up the payment, I eventually had to wave her down. I observed a lot of servers kind of just waiting around or chatting it up instead of clearing plates or running food out. I feel like there's so much potential and I would still like to try the lunch portion of the menu, so I'll be back and hopefully will have a better experience. This place has been hit or miss with both food and service. Twice I've had really great food but the service was just ok. Once the food was just ok and the service was pretty bad. This time I had to send my burger back since it was very rare and it came back exactly the same. The server also forgot to bring out cream with my coffee, did not ask if we needed condiments, and never checked on us. Newly opened brunch place which has very quickly become my favorite. My go to is the Kimchi fried rice with sunny side eggs on top. I always have it with their pork belly which makes it for a very good comfort meal. Portion is very generous. Real Kimchi bits make it a very authentic dish. Generally not a dish most people would try, but you'd be surprised at how familiar the flavors are. Their freshly squeezed orange juice is sweet and refreshing, would be nice if they offered different sizes though. I'd be willing to pay more if they had them in larger glass sizes. My husband had the potato hash skillet and that was downright amazing too. Very moist and savory, very much a comfort food especially for colder weather. The wait staff is always very friendly, even if some of them are still new and needing to catch up a bit. One of the owners is usually around and they take time to talk to you and make sure that everything is done well. Love Grove and I'm sure I'll be coming back very often! read more

It's on the west side in an area with a high SES so they figured that's why they get to charge high prices. I live close by and don't mind paying for good service and good food. $3.00 for a piece of toast, toast! 1 piece! It think it was $2.95 for a glass of tea, boiled dried leaves juice! Never got a refill even when we asked. Service was slow when the place was but a quarter full, food was bland and waaaaay overpriced. I ordered the hash skillet and it was greasy and bland but it did look nice. Lol! I'll give it another shot in a couple of months, maybe they up their game. For now, no thanks. read more
