Tucked inside the ever-bustling Cimarron Plaza, The Grove Brunch Café feels like the kind of place that gets brunch on a higher level -- equal parts aesthetic, intentional, and flavorful. I stopped by post-workout and ordered a to-go meal, but couldn't resist starting with their Butterfly Tea Latte (unsweetened). It's visually stunning -- a dreamy bluish-violet hue that looks almost too pretty to sip -- and surprisingly balanced, earthy, and light. Think matcha's sophisticated cousin with antioxidant flair. I also tried the Healthy Asian Salad, and let's just say it truly lives up to its name -- maybe too much. I'm a self-proclaimed health junkie, but this one felt like foraging directly from the sea. Gigantic leafy greens, earthy mushrooms, some kind of seaweed situation... it was fresh, yes, but I found myself feeling like I was eating straight out of the ocean. Admirably wholesome, just not my jam. Next time, I've got my eye on their vegan bowl, which looks much more my speed. The menu overall is impressively expansive, thoughtfully inclusive of vegan and vegetarian options, and brimming with what I'd call "elevated casual" plates. My waitress was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and effortlessly cool -- matching the vibey energy of the space itself. The interior is chic yet inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating perfect for El Paso's sunny brunch culture. If there's one thing that surprises me, it's the hours. For such a popular, food-forward plaza, closing at 4 p.m. feels almost criminal -- those folks with 9-to-5s can only dream of a late-day Grove fix. Still, when you do catch them open, it's a genuinely delightful spot that makes brunch feel intentional rather than routine.

This review has been suiting in my drafts. My visit was October 29, 2019. Yep. Still have the photos on my phone. Wait to be seated. Inside or out. Communal seating at bar and square table by bar behind hostess station. Entire menu served all day. Always a plus! Cold syrup. Powdered sugar from Korea so not as sweet. Owners are Korean. Next to Keg and a brew. Limited parking in front.

Server was nice , I did feel like the tables were a bit close together but it was nice and busy for a Saturday! I had the sweet potato pancakes and they were nice and not overly vegetabley. And the side of potatoes were a bit salty and seasoned well, kind of greasy towards the bottom. My friend liked her skillet with steak, next time I would want to try the drinks and pastries.

There's a time and place for everything. On a busy Saturday lunch hour, is not the time to be dancing behind the bar with your coworkers and ignoring your customers. I walked in and since I'm a single person, I want to go to the bar. I sat there watching the bartender just mosey around and at first, was completely ignoring my presence. "Am I invisible?!" No greeting, no acknowledging, just a sloppy leisure walk and she had no care to be at work. Eventually she approached and asked if I'd like something to drink...(what gave you that idea, I'm sitting at the bar?) Well, I'd been sitting there for almost 10 minutes, so I wanted to try their Bloody Mary (the one with the meat and cheese skewer). She never explained there were two different ones or even gave me an option. I would've spent the $15+ on the other, but I guess that would've been too much work for her. Another 10-15 minutes go by and she asked if I'd like something food. Sure, I guess I'd built up an appetite watching the staff do nothing but gossip behind the bar. I ended up ordering the Crab Cake Benedict. After another 5-10 minutes pass, she comes back and states they're out of their house potatoes. (Of course) So I substitute for sweet potato fries, and since I have made it this far with my first time not so great experience at this establishment, and I am determined to not come back. (In the meantime, she'd also forgot about the couple sitting next to me the remainder of their order after they were almost done.) Long story short, I was not impressed with quantity of food and quality of service. For such a nice establishment, they need to do better!

My wife and I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM to take advantage of the brunch menu and celebrate a family birthday. We called earlier that morning to make a reservation for our large party of 9, which I highly recommend. The seating inside the restaurant is limited, specifically for large parties. The time we went was super busy and we ended up being sat outside in their patio seating. The patio seating isn't bad, however it was very windy that day, and the wind was catching certain parts of our table, making it uncomfortable to eat. Of course this isn't the restaurant's fault or anything, but it affected our experience nonetheless. Our server was mostly attentive, although there were numerous occasions that we had to go looking for him to ask for something--refills, silverware, etc. He did okay, but could have been better. Food-wise I'll stick with reviewing what I ordered--I decided to go with the "Brunch Burger:" a burger with house-made bacon jam, fresh arugula, Dijon mustard, havarti cheese, and an egg. It came with a side of fries. My burger was just okay. Nothing special. I ordered it medium, but it came out more med-well to borderline well done, but I wasn't going to send it back and wait more. The combination of the other ingredients was fine, but again, it wasn't amazing or anything. Fries were crisp. Overall our visit was okay, I would probably order something different the next time around if we came back!

Well, one year later, we hope this place would have improved. When this place first opened, the food was amazing, however, its been consistently pretty bad. The omelette was super salty and greasy. The steak in the salad was overcooked. The server was very nice, however nonexistent. She came over at the beginning and completely interrupted our conversation. We asked for the music to be turned down slightly so we could hear each other because it sounded like we were in a nightclub. Mind you this was at 12 noon on a weekday. Don't get me wrong, I love to play loud music and dance and go to clubs, however, this is not the time or the place. Loud music seems to be a reoccurring issue in El Paso restaurants. I'd like to add that we waited about half an hour for the food to come out and only two out of the four plates came out so part of our party got to eat their food first, which is very rude. Somebody needs to let servers there know that serving all the people at the table at the same time is good etiquette. How do you get a job at a restaurant without knowing this? Do the managers train the staff? From my experience the quieter, the restaurant, the more elegant, and classier the establishment. This place needs new cooks, possibly with some cooking experience. This is a reason why we don't go out to eat anymore. Unless we see some improvements in the restaurants around us, it's just not worth it to go out anymore. Why go to a loud restaurant where you can't even talk to the people you want to catch up with? If you want to go to a club go at night. If you want to drink go to a bar.

The Bailey's French toast was amazing !! The flavors mixed so well and it wasn't overly sweet like it may seem.

This is for today only and their limited time turkey havarti sandwich on "homemade" ciabatta...aka a thick dry biscuit. Very little turkey. Huge chunk of dry bread. Do not recommend. It looks nothing like the picture. It was awful and I'm kicking myself for not sending it back. $17 wasted. Good thing it's a limited time. I'll stick to my tried and true favs and not try anything new because most times they hit it out of the park. Still hoping someone will take the advice of taking the nasty air freshener out of the bathrooms. It's toxic and overwhelming.

I loved this place! Great food, fantastic staff, and nice atmosphere. Shaun behind the bar took care of us better than I could imagine. His drinks are a 10/10. He was very quick with refills and gave incredible recommendations. Ask for Shaun's French Toast Burger and you will not be disappointed. It's not on the menu, but it's unbelievable! read more

NEW PLACE CIMARRON COMPLEX. AMBIANCE IS AIRY AND WITH A TOUCH OF TROPICAL ELEGANCE. Met a Friend for lunch, more like Brunch, we sat outside, the day was breezy and nice and less noisy than indoors. Indoors music was to loud, so people were talking loud as well. But don't blame them for sitting inside, it is very well decorated, Visually stunning.... Our server was very good and gave us information on several of the dishes and gave us time to choose. My Friend ordered the Omelet and I ordered the Pork belly Jicama tacos and we split an order of Chilaquiles. Our food came out pretty quick. AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING SERVICE AND GREAT PLACE TO HAVE BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, LUNCH OR DINNER. BEAUTIFUL PRESENTATION AND GREAT FLAVORS... I brought the tacos home for my husband and he really enjoyed them. We plan to come back, hopefully with a group of friends and enjoy family style. For being only a month old Restaurant, it was spot on with everything. Glad El Paso is growing great tasting and visually beautiful food eating Restaurants. read more

Everything is good!! I've had kimchi fried rice (so authentic), beef skillet, asian salad with salmon, and korean noodle (was a bit salty for me tho). Already been here three times in a week and a half. I'm gonna make more future visits!! read more

Stopped in for breakfast on my way through El Paso. Ordered vegetable omelette and pancakes with coffee. It wasn't overly busy however it took 50 minutes to get the food when it arrived it was cold as was the food my dining companion's ordered. The taste of the pancakes and eggs was good if you get them hot they would be better. Coffee was average. The waitress was courteous. I would give it another try but would not be a first choice. read more

So this place disappoints more than satisfies. From the moment you order your food to the moment it's brought to your table, takes forever. I think it's been a few times that our food came out in a timely manner. Crazy part is, the food is great. The servers are great, food, drinks are great, just not too sure on why it takes forever to have your food brought out. So if your in a rush, this is probably not the place to go. If you have plenty of time then please enjoy!! read more

This place is by far my favorite!! I love coming here on Friday mornings after the gym to have some coffee and a hearty breakfast! The restaurant is extremely cozy and the service is exceptional. A Yelp recommendation ad my husband and I enjoy brunch menus on the weekend. Around the corner from our house. Coffee is very food. Love that they serve it in a deep cup and saucer:) My husband ordered the Farmers Omelet and I the chicken and waffles. Rosemary potatoes on the side. Nothing fancy or out of this world but good enough to go again and enjoy the coffee and try another brunch item. Atmosphere is pleasant; busy and a little on the noisy side. Maybe next time we will sit outside. read more

Food was good, service was terrible. That's the only reason why I'm not giving this place 1 star. Our food came out in portions, like our sides came out way after we got our main dish. Our server was nice, but we got no apology or explanation as to why our food came out after a table that ordered after us. We waited at least 45 mins for breakfast food. Ridiculous! read more

Great brunch or dinner place. Margaritas here are really good. Their fried calamari appetizer is one of my favorites. I've sat and eaten all three of their desserts and I can honestly say their Matcha cheesecake is absolutely delightful. Service is always good. Outside seating is good for a late afternoon. read more

Waited 15 minutes for a table which is reasonable. Got our menus and water at the table immediately but it's close to 30 minutes and no one has taken our order. We let one if the girls know that no one had taken our order and still another 15 minutes went by. When another girl came by to finally take our order, she only replied, "sometimes there's bad days". Really? No apology or anything. All the surrounding tables were also complaining about the service. We will not be returning. There's too many other restaurant choices with great service that deserve our business. read more

I ordered the egg and hash skillet. I don't posses the vocabulary to describe the amazing flavors. Green olives that I don't even like as part of the recipe? It was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Sat outside which is quite nice. They are very friendly. Thought my server was terrible in that she drifted off for long periods of time. Other tables had me wishing for their server. It's that good that I won't mark them down. read more

It is a small restaurant and this time it was full with people. To get our table it took around 35 minutes which is understandable for the amount of clients they had there. We placed our order and drinks which the drinks came at a reasonable time but our food took 45 minutes to arrive. This was not cool since inside the restaurant is loud you really have to talk loud or repeat yourself to get things accross. Another thing that got me was the amount of flies that are inside the restaurant not cool point and the waitress attention was not there, who knows maybe she was overwhelmed with the amount of people at the restaurant. This is one place we're I will not be returning and that is why I gave them 2 stars. read more

Great place in west El Paso. This place will please vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. One of my fav is the Korean sweet potato noodles! They are absolutely delicious!! The only thing this place needs is a person attending the restrooms 24/7. They are quite filthy when you are there at 12 noon or beyond! read more

Our first time there was amazing! My husband and I attended after church and were really satisfied. The service was amazing. Victoria the hostesses was really sweet! She did everything she could to seat us. The table had plates and cups and she quickly went and cleaned it for us, not only that but she went and grabbed us water since we let her know we were very hot and thirsty!! Patiently waited for the staff to clean our table, but took what seemed like forever. Server didn't provide menus or offered how to see the digital menus. We were rarely asked how we were doing or if we wanted refills. Girlfriend ordered the vegetarian skillet which was bland. Highlight of the experience were the mimosas but they couldn't save the rating. Overpriced menu for subpar service and food. read more

This place has great potential but is lacking service wise and menu choice wise. If you are looking for vegetarian options this place is probably great. Not looking for vegetarian options good luck ! Ate brunch here on a Sunday. Pretty busy but service was terrible. Menu items were okay but no sides included for the price. No breakfast kids menu. Came back for dinner on a Wednesday. Place was dead. Service was better but burger has no sauce no cheese and no taste other than onions. Other half ordered steak skillet. Got maybe 4 pieces of steak. 150 sunset much better option for the price . read more

Disappointed. Looks like we hold a minority opinion. However, while food was tasty, servings were inadequate, eggs were cold, coffee lukewarm, and service abysmal. I ordered the "Full English Breakfast." Cherry tomatoes, not full-size, mushrooms cold, and sausage linked which was a far cry from European fare. Wife's Eggs Benedict were small and cold. Requested salt and pepper which took five minutes to get, which made eggs even colder. Requested refills on coffee; never came. We left a generous tip which wasn't deserved. Suggest management spend more time training staff. People were waiting for tables, which weren't being cleared. Realize we're just returning to the norm but emphasis on customer needs was sorely lacking. read more

I had just come down from a Tom Lea gallery event upstairs and the restaurant was packed. I figured it was a long shot, but they still found a way to seat me. Service stayed friendly even with the rush, which I always notice. The burger was easily one of the best I've had in El Paso. Clearly handcrafted, cooked right, super juicy, really flavorful. What impressed me most was the bun actually held everything together instead of falling apart halfway through like most gourmet burgers do. At about $20, it felt justified. One thing worth noting, especially if you're into spirits: they have one of the largest tequila and mezcal collections around. Definitely a destination spot if that's your thing. I tried their carajillo but found out they add Baileys, which made it sweeter than I usually prefer. Not bad at all, just more dessert-leaning than my taste. Live music from Jordan Taylor was happening that night too, which made the whole atmosphere feel elevated without being stuffy. Because that first visit stuck with me, I went back recently to try their lunch special with a friend. For $26 you get an appetizer, entrée, sides, guacamole, tostadas, and dessert. It's honestly a great way to try a range of dishes without committing to just one plate. Funny enough, it doesn't look like a huge amount of food at first... but we were completely stuffed by the end, so kudos to them for balancing portions well while still giving variety. Standouts: * The octopus cocktail appetizer was excellent. Bright, fresh, good texture. * Carne asada was cooked exactly right. Tender but still had bite like a proper steak. * Mushroom components in several dishes were surprisingly flavorful. * Desserts were a highlight. The arroz con leche arancini especially. Crispy outside, creamy inside, not overly sweet. Very well done. Some things were more middle-of-the-road: * Salmon dish leaned bland, lots of texture but not much flavor. * Guacamole tasted a bit acidic. * Goat cheese in the enchiladas was subtle to the point of disappearing. * Corn and mashed potatoes were fine but nothing memorable. Timing was reasonable. Food came out in about 20 minutes, but with a full meal you'll want to plan roughly an hour to an hour and a half total if you're not rushing. One practical perk: they validate parking at the Plaza garage next door, which downtown absolutely needs more of. Overall, beautiful space, solid service, some really strong dishes, and a few that could use more punch. Still very much worth checking out, especially if you're downtown already or want a nicer but still relaxed lunch or dinner spot. I've typically loved this spot as a go-to brunch place after moving from Austin, but lately the service and food have been slipping. Their chilaquiles are usually excellent plus the breakfast classic. However, on our last visit, the coffee was burned, our server was nowhere to be found, and the food wait was long. To top it off, when our food was finally almost ready, we were told our side wasn't available. There was no proactive communication from any of the staff, I would have changed my entree if I'd known. Sadly, this visit left me questioning if I'll be coming back anytime soon. I hope they can return to the quality and service that made this place one of my favorites. read more
