Went in a hour before closing on Tuesday. They have daily specials. Tuesdays was a combo plate of two tacos either hard shell or soft along with rice and beans. I got that and was not disappointed. The two people working were so nice and helpful with any questions I had which was greatly appreciated. I got the barbacoa and shredded chicken tacos. Only edit: the chef always makes great food. The taste of the food isn't the problem. The counter service and complete change in set up is the problem. Much better flavor than a lot of the menu at Valle, and the chile verde is more consistent than Grullense Market. Original post: Big let down. One year ago this place was the greatest build your own spot; fantastic flavors and great prices. Now it's just like Grullense market, they don't do the build your own, which was the huge win over going to Chipotle. It was fun convincing friends to come here. Orders are wrong and we've had to go back in to get food we ordered after already leaving. And tell you what, if they make a mistake, you'll be the one paying for it. 7/30/23 Getting lunch! The worker was very kind! Ordered their shredded chicken bowl with Mexican rice, potatoes, veggies, jalapeños, etc. Also with hot sauce and guacamole on the side. Paid for the order and wished a good day! =) Safe and clean restaurant. Practiced too! They also have fresh bakery items to purchase. Bowl looks delicious! Can't wait to get home and enjoy it! 1st time here when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised that it didn't look anything like the previous restaurant. Everything looked new and clean. The portions are a good size. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at, and the price is shockingly reasonable. I don't eat at any other Mexican restaurant in Hanford since I discovered this place. I love their grilled chicken tacos, and their Mexican fried rice is outstanding. The menu is really varied and you can get four or five different kinds of protein and your choice of fried or grilled flour or corn tortillas, or you can have one of those great big bowls with everything in the world in them. They have at least four or five different choices of protein, beef and pork and chicken. Last night I picked up two of the grilled chicken tacos and the largest serving size of their rice, and the cost was under $10. Wow! You can't even get a burger and fries in this town for under $16 so something that's fresh and excellent and very healthy portions for that price is praise worthy for sure! Some of the staff don't speak English so it's a little difficult to communicate what I want, but I can point and they can figure it out. There's a young woman who works there who is very friendly and has great customer service skills. Tonight I asked her if I could have a little bite of their fried potatoes. I love potatoes, have any kind and especially fried ones, and they were chopped in small chunks and had a red coating of some sort on them. She got a little plastic cup and was filling it up, when I said to her "No, no, no! I just need one bite!" She smiled at me and stopped filling the cup, and handed it to me. I just didn't want to waste food by her giving me more than literally one bite to taste them, because I'm such a picky eater it was likely I would have one bite and not like them. But that was NOT the case! They were YUMMY! That whole scenario was special, and that's part of why I'm highly recommending this restaurant. It's small, but there are several booths in there where you can eat, but I had been out running errands all day long and I was exhausted and really, really hungry, so I went home and immediately sat down to eat, and didn't think for a minute to take a photograph of how large those helpings were, and how appetizing it looked.
