My boyfriend and I found G's Coffee shop after searching for a place that could do a reliably good breakfast sandwich on a ROLL, not a bagel. Undeniably it hit the spot! In less than 5 minutes, we had two delicious, filling, and cheap breakfast sandwiches made to order! We both got sausage, egg, and cheese with ketchup on a plain Kaiser roll. These were $7 each, and had plenty of every ingredient. It's also conveniently near inwood hill park which was a lovely place to sit and enjoy our food! read more

Destination for a trail/road road starting in Tibbets Park in Yonkers. By no means an extensive menu review. I did have the breakfast tacos w/ chorizo. Fantastic! Service was very good. Saturday morning and the place was busy. Staff was friendly- but not overly chatty. Tacos served up in under 10 mins. Coffee shop vibes all around. Tight space with about 5 stools for counter service. Great spot looking forward to hitting up more of the menu. read more

This is a long time Inwood favorite but I never tried it before. My old roommate and I decided to grab breakfast burritos here after a stroll through the farmers market. I was unimpressed.. Coming from LA's amazing breakfast burritos, this place pales in comparison. Now I know, NY wins as far as pizza and bagels go but LA wins when it comes to donuts, tacos, and breakfast burritos. read more

Big, big YES to this spot. Besides great food they are generous beyond what you might think supporting local charities, particularly the local food pantry on Isham/Seaman Ave. These folks donate a great deal of food, and their own staff to help support the local pantry that feeds hundreds each week. Again, their food is good, but their spirit of generosity exemplary. Go there, eat, smile, be nice to your neighbor. They've got it all. Kudos. read more

Went here as a babish fangirl. The hour long subway ride was so worth it. The breakfast burrito was TRULY delish! I do not eat pork so I did chicken + veggie and I was not disappointed. I'm from Texas so I feel my tastes are pretty reliable on what's a good burrito or not lol. The green sauce/salsa was tasty, not at all spicy for my southern palate, but the owner told me that for NYers it's plenty hot lol. Ask anyone who lives in Inwood where the best Breakfast Burritos are and undoubtedly you'll be directed to G's on 207th. I've been coming here for years. Not only the best bk burrito (get with chorizo) in town, but tasty tacos and a hearty Mexican omelette , the food is delicious and the staff friendly. I'm a Handyman who lives in Hell's Kitchen but I get a lotta work uptown. I've been coming here for years. The manager Steve has become a friend. Every time I come to the neighborhood I stop by. They also have a bathroom (but you really should buy something if you're gonna use it). G's is located less than a minutes walk from the A train on 207th, right next to the barber shop. Funny how this place showed up on my Yelp home screen widget after i commented on another social media app how great this place is for the best breakfast!! A social media influencer had visited this joint, eating one of their AMAZING breakfast burritos & i had to comment how great this joint really is all around. i miss living in Inwood solely for this reason! i used to live on the same block as this joint & very much miss it. i regret not trying their other menu items but their breakfast burritos omfg so worth it in every aspect! the guys & girls that work there are really nice too & always make you feel welcomed!! love this joint & now that i'm back living in the Bronx, i wouldn't mind the hour walk from my place to this joint just for one of their breakfast burritos again read more

Y'all. Chiming in to validate the many reviews about how the chorizo breakfast burrito is the truth and how you are definitely missing out if you've never stepped foot in this place. I order it with everything and ask for it "well done." While I still wish the potatoes were crispy, that would only make it 11 stars. It's already a perfect ten! It's pretty filling-- If I have it around 11a, I'm set until late dinner time. What more could you want? I haven't felt the need to expand my horizons and order other stuff because the cravings for this burrito are still strong...but soon. Thank you, G's, for being a real one! read more

Every neighborhood has a fulcrum point: the immovable spot around which retail life is anchored and the social scene buzzes. G's--tiny for restaurants, even by Manhattan standards, and easy to miss (even the "G" on sign outside has faded to near invisibility) - is the fulcrum point for Inwood. Patrons fly in and out of this sliver of a bodega on the corner of 207th St. and Cooper for lottery tix, a pack of gum, and the food. And one item in particular. G's offers three menus: (1) the standard diner fare of breakfast omelets, lunch sandwiches and grilled burgers; (2) the 'Sides Menu' of fries, onion rings, & mozzarella sticks; and (3) the Mexican Menu. Skip the first two--they are distractions--and go straight for the Mexican fare. And once you've done that focus in, regardless the time of day, on the Breakfast Burrito. This is comida del cielo - a perfect combo of chorizo, home fries, avocado slices, scrambled eggs, and pepper jack. Wash it down with a Lime Jamalito and grab two Mantecado cookies on your way out. Probably the best taco spot I've accidentally discovered. G's Coffee Shop has such a warm spot in my heart and tummy. Fast, reliable, great taste and veggie options! Whether coming home exhausted or going out on the town, G's has always been there. I like to think of it as a one stop shop supplying most of your bodega needs and then some. They do other meals like breakfast sandwiches and alike but those veggie tostadas have me by the wrist. The place is cozy but seems to have high traffic regardless of the size. We lived in Inwood for 16 years and when Doo Wop deli closed we found G's. It's kind of an Inwood secret and quickly became out go to. It's small so seating at the counter is limited but service is fast so we usually go a seat quickly. The tacos and tostadas were my favorite. I ordered the pork tostada with a fried egg on it for breakfast. My kids lived off of the grilled cheese and the best milk shakes. It's an old school place with a lot of regulars and super friendly service. read more

Wow, I love this place! My boyfriend and I would go here every Saturday religiously and get two Bacon Egg and Cheeses and OJ/ Iced Coffee. Snug Corner Deli that is Quintessentially New York. The flautas and breakfast burritos are also A1. Apart from the food, what makes G's so magical is the people who work there. They are super kind and have a way of making you feel welcome, like a block club family. G's is truly a neighborhood landmark. Last year, I was heartbroken that I had to move due to the pandemic. Tired from packing and slightly melancholic at the thought of goodbye, I headed over to G's for my last meal in Inwood. After I finished my meal, I locked the apartment door behind me, and said goodbye to the neighborhood. This place is close to our son's apt and it always smells great when we walk by. Finally we decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did. We tried the chicken and pork empanadas. They were very good with the right amount of filling, seasoning and crust. We will eat here again and definitely try the tortas and tacos which looked delicious! I can't wait to go back! read more

Such a wonderful gem we are happy to have found it. Owner has been here for 20 years and place opened in the 1930's. What I love most is the counter with barstools by the kitchen area, reminds me of old diners when I was young. I had a ham egg and cheese with ketchup and it was so good. The roll was perfect. Would love to be here more often though I am never in the Washington Heights area. What a great little diner though, I wish them much success! read more

This place is heaven and may be the one restaurant that will never fail me in Inwood. We've tried many different things in this spot - breakfast (pancakes, eggs, breakfast burritos), lunch/dinner (several sandwiches, burritos, tacos, and tortas). Everything has been outstanding. I think their breakfast burritos deserve an award. It's the perfect balance of ingredients and even when delivered it maintains its texture. Their coffee is surprisingly delicious too. I like it better than the local coffee shop. My mother who never likes anywhere we take her asked me to order this for her three times in one week. She ordered at least four different types of sandwiches, although lamented that they didn't have pastrami in stock. The Mexican half of our family claims that these are the best tacos and tortas they have had in NYC. The chorizo is probably their favorite. Their salsa is really really good and their preparation is always fresh. It is true, they have really fresh avocados. Even in winter. They have the treats that you need to go along with your dinner. They have some fun Mexican groceries, too. I wish they had some agua fresca, but I think I'd prefer they focus on what they do best and not worry about doing everything. Their delivery is fast. I will say occasionally they close early so always call ahead to check if they are still opened. They are a small family business, so things can come up. Speaking of the family - they are the nicest bunch. Above and beyond. I'm glad they do well because if anyone deserves it, they do. read more

Wow! I am so happy Yelp led me here. It was so nice to have some authentic Mexican tacos. Having recently left Texas I was having withdrawals from Mexican food and this place definitely helped me get my fix. I sat at the counter to order/eat. The staff was very friendly. I love being able to see my food being prepared on the grill, as it heightens my anticipation. It was prepared very quickly. I ordered one chorizo and egg taco and one lengua taco. For anyone who doesn't know: lengua is cow tongue. Do not be afraid. It is delicious. I promise. All the tacos came garnished with cilantro, onion, avocado, and salsa verde. If you don't want any of those things, be sure to ask ahead of time. The salsa is great, not too spicy. Reminded me of grandmas. I will absolutely be back.. Again and again and again. read more

Tom and Gus have been holding down the fort for years! I've been coming here since I was enrolled at Good Shepherd School across the street. Whether you crave golden pancakes, a toasted bagel, or avocado tacos, they will whip it up just for you! Ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo and it was delicious. They always make sure it's carefully prepared using fresh ingredients and presented beautifully.
