We were long time supporters of G's previous restaurant. Very disappointed that Grainine did not take the time to stop and acknowledge our presence or say hello! Even though she walked past us at least a dozen times! The restaurant was not busy when we sat at the bar so as an owner of a new establishment we thought we would receive better treatment We did not like the two appetizers that we ordered, but the house salad and blue burger was very good. Our first bartender, do not know name,, was not very helpful, or engaging. We had to beg for A menu. Shelby then began to wait on us, and she is always a pleasure, very helpful and friendly. Not sure that it's worth the long drive to visit again due to the lack of customer focus. read more

We sat indoors and the overall ambiance felt nice. There is a small section for outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. Our meal started off strong with the mushroom and feta pastry. I really like the honey sauce paired with the flaky pastry topped with some tzatziki. The pork taco came with two moderately sized tacos. The pork was really tender and flavorful and I loved the toppings that went with it. I personally am not a huge fan of flour tortillas, but otherwise the pork tacos were good. My pork tenderloin was a little dry and the sauce felt a little overpowering. Green beans were a bit bland but the meal comes with bread and rosemary butter which I used a bit on the green beans for flavor. Croquette was super crunchy and soft inside, definitely my favorite part of the dish. Fried chicken was also very juicy, and the veggies were smoked. I'd say the fried chicken dish was overall a little bland for us, tasted better when we asked for hot sauce. Service was so sweet and fast, I felt like everyone was really friendly and attentive which I appreciated. But overall I would probably keep at least the salt and pepper handy as our entrees felt a little too light for our taste. read more

We loved this place. We sat outside and we're seated promptly. We tried the fried chicken (so tender and juicy seriously j can't believe how good) and my husband got the lamb meatloaf - super moist and delicious! I'm happy to have found this place and the menu is always changing too which I love! read more

I'm not excited about the menu. A few basic items would be nice. Maybe I'm old school but if I can't pronounce it I won't eat it.

Excellent restaurant. Had the duck and was amazing. Meatloaf and short ribs were delicious too!

Our dinner there was wonderful. The staff is very attentive & the food is great. Tomato bisque appetizer was quite nice, and the seared tuna entree may be the best tuna I've ever had; perfectly done. If you're looking for a welcoming place with good food, G's is the place you're looking for. The food and drinks are great. Her prices are reasonable, and she has a fantastic happy hour. I've never been there that she hasn't been walking around asking the customers if they're enjoying their food, and offering whatever she can to make their experience awesome. I can't say enough. Not only can I recommend G's for a quiet dinner for two, but also for large gatherings. The restaurant hosted our 18-person family reunion on a Saturday night in its spacious and sparkling downstairs event room and fulfilled all our expections -- excellent food with prompt and friendly service. What more can you ask? We agreed to limit the menu to two appetizers and five entrees, but heard no grumbling from any our guests. I would say the room can accommodate a group at least twice the size of ours with plenty of space left over for easy table hopping. The room also has a bar, which we didn't use, but which, I suppose, could be pressed into service for a larger group. read more

Tonight's food was delicious! We enjoyed Lobster Arancini and Tuna Won Ton for our starters... both so yummy and beautiful presentations!! Beautifully redesigned restaurant with an awesome bar!  Super clean and comfortable.  Servers and bartenders were really friendly and gave us excellent service.  Extensive cocktail menu- we tried the Gold Rush and it was delicious!  The cheeseburger and house made potato chips were awesome! We recently had Easter Brunch at Granine's new restaurant . We were frequent customers of her former location Blue North and were looking forward to the new restaurant. It's a clean, sleek and modern looking place. The staff are warm, efficient and engaging like Granine. She retained her former Chef so the food was excellent with subtle nuances. Extensive liquor selections enhanced the experience. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed. read more

We had dinner at G's last night and the food and the service were outstanding. We got 3 appetizers to share and all three were delicious and perfectly prepared. I personally loved the Tuna Tartare and the Blistered Shishito Peppers were my husband's favorite. My Salmon entree was fresh and cooked perfectly. The artichoke risotto that was included was super tasty too. My husbands lamb meatloaf was comfort food with a twist and his sides were equally delicious. Celebrated our anniversary with a wonderful dinner at G's On Liberty. The food was excellent - presentation was great, taste, temp... everything perfect. Deserts were the best we've had in a *very* long time. Service was friendly, thorough and efficient. As first-time visitors to Pittsburgh, we really enjoyed the wonderful conversation with the owner who turned us towards some great parts of the city to visit with a warm hospitality that made us feel like family. Thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to our next visit. :) read more

I've been coming here since they opened (as a former Blue patron back before Grainne had G's). I'm reluctant to even post this because I love Grainne and the food is honestly amazing, but I have an internal policy that I'll give any place another chance unless they're absolutely horrible to me personally and unfortunately they did just that. We had a reservation in place and about a week out, my friend and I called in to bump our reservation up by an hour. They said that would be difficult but they could bump it up by a half an hour (to 7:30). We said that would be perfect as the only reason we wanted to bump it at all was because we found out they were closing early for the evening and we didn't want to hold any employees up from getting to go home. Flash forward to the day of our reservation; we walk in at 7:20 and wait maybe 10 minutes for the hostess to even show up at the front (not a big deal except for the following interaction) we give her my name and tell her that we have a 7:30 reservation. She runs back to check and says it's actually for 8pm. I told here (calmly, and not like movie Dumbledore calmly) that we had called a week prior to change it, at which point she actually raises her voice and yells at me saying it's 8pm on the system, throws her arms up on the air, and storms off saying she doesn't know what she wants us to do, it's out of her hands. I've never been spoken to like that in a professional setting and I just thought this was so out of place especially in an establishment like G's. The bartender watched the whole interaction go down and props to him, he saved our night there because we honestly considered just leaving after that. He quickly got us seats at the bar and served us drinks immediately. We probably only waited maybe ten minutes for a table so honestly NONE OF THIS would have been a big deal at all. Our dinner was phenomenal and even though one order came out incorrect for our group, they were quick to catch it and correct it. Honestly had the hostess just told us there had been a mixup and apologized and told us we'd have to wait at the bar we would have been completely fine and I wouldn't be writing this review. I've just never had someone, unprompted, speak to me this way and I was kind of in shock over the whole thing. (We're pretty chill we could have even eaten at the bar). Having worked in food service I try to be understanding if someone seems to be having a rough day, but the way this hostess spoke to us was just completely unacceptable. I love the food and the atmosphere, but this was probably our last trip here. There are plenty of other establishments nearby with much friendlier service. read more
