I agree with Michelle P, you can make better Mexican food at home. I gave it two tries, but at the end of the day the food (chili, beans, proteins) are extremely salty, and the food and drinks are way too expensive. I want to like G's. They are quite close to my home and have a very nice establishment. I have been 6-7 times hoping for a good experience. I'd say that maybe two of those times has been positive. And those times involved drinks only. The staff is generally friendly, and the margaritas are tasty. They have a fabulous tequila selection, and the staff knows it well. The food has solid potential. The vegetarian burrito is good. However, when I ask for some other item on the menu and specify without meat, or without some other ingredient, they fail to comply and act as though correcting their error is completely inconvenient. Lastly, the hours at G's are not dependable. They often close shop early on slower nights. I have gone once or twice around nine for margaritas with friends and they were lights-out. If you want to establish yourself as a neighborhood bar, you must be open when people expect it. read more

Yea not sure where all these 5 star reviews are coming from. Tried this the other day based on those and man it was not good. First of all the place was nearly empty, but I try not to judge places on that. The food was extremely bland except for the overwhelming taste of pepper. Pepper in everything. The salsa, the burrito, etc. Its really all I could taste. Even an hour later, my mouth just tasted like pepper. The chicken in the burrito and fajitas was shredded 'lemon pepper' chicken, with extra pepper thrown in. The waitress told us they are changing the menu, and hopefully switching to different chicken. So maybe someone else can try them and update the rest of us. My wife commented that the food was almost as bland as her cooking when she first started. Really not good. I certainly would never go there again for Mexican food. read more

Tried this place out because it was close, and we ended up really liking it. Two of us got the Dirty South burrito smothered in green chile and cheese; smothered was definitely the way to go. The smothering sauce had a thin, chicken broth quality, which might sound weird but was really good. My dad's tacos looked just ok; I shared my burrito with him, which I think he enjoyed and appreciated. Giving only 3 stars and not 4 because my Sangria seemed pretty watered down; it was listed on the board as a special, so I expected better. read more

3.5 stars Super casual spot for a super casual meet-up. One of my team members suggested this spot for a quick meal knowing that I love tacos and that I wanted to eat outside. She called this place a "dive" but it didn't even come close to my definition of a dive. Although I didn't peek inside so I cant comment on the bar situation but the patio was a solid choice for 6 of us enjoy some time outside. The menu is online and I was excited to try some breakfast tacos, even though it was 5pm. My two team members also said the tomatillo salsa and the 'white trash' tacos were really good here as well. My tacos (eggs, cheese, potato and bacon) were good. The flour tortillas were not as soft as I'd like and the filling to tortilla ratio could have been better too. But the price (cheap!) and flavor (yummy tomatillo salsa) it was a solid meal. Service was friendly. read more

This is a go-to neighborhood spot for us. The fresh chips with queso and quac are delicious. The chile and most sauces are really hot so be prepared, but they're all tasty. The margaritas are homemade and consistently good. The only reason they don't get five stars is because they rarely have enough servers. The ones who are there work hard, but can typically use another hand to avoid running from table to table. I'd definitely recommend checking them out though! read more

I have been coming to this resturant every Friday for a year. Specifically the white trash tacos always bring me back. A delicious taco with shredded chicken, bacon, ranch, cheesr and lettuce wtih their home made Gs extra Hot salsa! We usually start off with their freshly made chips and salsa. If you dont like hot, i recommend Gs house red - amazing! When I bring friends they always leave satisified. The service is friendly and usually quick. If you get there are 1200, expect a little more of a delay because of lunch hour. But staff is great, food ia great and atmosphere ia comfy!! read more

Wtf $10.50 pitchers of Guinness and Blue Moon, TROUBLE! As for the food it was awesome considering it was happy hour food and even for that it was way better then expected. The nachos for 2 or $3.99 were awesome the chili was not hot but had a great deal of flavor. As for the "G's x-tra hot sauce" it was good, not great and not very spicy but for some I could see it being a bit much to handle. As for the service I can't speak to all times that are mentioned in the post below but the lady we had was bar tending, bar backing, waitressing and bussing. This ain't the chop house so don't expect a waiter at every table. If you read my other reviews you will notice I hate bad service and don't see this to be anything less then so,done giving there all to make there money. Feeling spontaneous, we were cruising the area and discovered this local bar and saw that it was happy hour so... We ordered a pitcher of Blue Moon, a house margarita, nachos (with cheese and green chili), fries, and two orders (a total of four) of tacos, which equaled 27 dollars. If that's not happy hour then I don't know what is! (The pitcher of beer wasn't on the happy hour menu, but it was only $10.50!) I am a huge fan of the green chili! The service was good, especially given the fact that there was only one bartender and one waiter when there was a full house. A new regular spot for happy hour? I'd like to think so! read more

Based on the changes I've seen at G's over the past year, I'm upping my review to five stars. Having become a regular, I can say with confidence that G's is the best place of its kind this side of 29th Avenue -- and maybe beyond. G's had humble beginnings as a quirky burrito joint with a window to order and lots of space. Then came a hand-crafted bar that was way too high before being lowered. Now G's has a tequila collection that brings out the lush in me, a respectable line-up of draft beers, and Mexican staples that, simply put, would give me a reason to live in the worst of times. In a final stroke of genius, G's vastly improved their tacos by just slightly grilling each tortilla before serving, resulting in pliable but crispy taco goodness. I recommend the chicken tacos with tomatillo sauce, the Colorado burrito, or the chili rellenos. But really, everything is good. The only item left wanting on the menu is the nachos, which are just conventional tortilla chips with cheese, beef, beans, and whatever. On a cautionary note, the BBQ chicken burrito spiciness can vary wildly from visit to visit, and even though I enjoy mouth-burn to the point of food-masochism, at times it's too spicy even for me. But keeping clear of the nachos or BBQ chicken burrito, you can't go wrong at G's. And when waiting for your food, you should take some time to examine the Wall of Shame, featuring photos of non-celebrities like Dealin' Doug and the Shamwow guy. Then after dinner, you can even relax on some leather couches they've arranged in the middle of the place. There's no shame in ordering another round as you lounge around like you would at home. Didn't eat anything this last weekend on an residence-hunting day since breakfast except a Snickers bar and some energy drink, so I was more than ravenous when I found myself in the neighborhood and had to stop by G's again. Amazingly quiet, just a handful of people moving into and out of the place, but they said things had been very busy all day. Ordered the large (battleship-sized) burrito and once again set it swimming in a sea of green chile and cheddar cheese. My one teeny tiny gripe -- amazingly I finally have one -- is that they don't have an option between sharp and mild cheddar -- I was really jonesin for some sharp and they only had mild. Knock off .1 pts. 4.9 out of 5 is still a 5. (And I know the guys there saw my review, so hopefully it is something they'll look into :) I "hacked" their menu this time and BYOB'd (Build Your Own Burrito) it -- black beans, chicken, NO rice, gobs of cheese, drown it -- no problemo. Was about... mmm... maybe 8 minutes? I got to luxuriate myself on their wonderful leather sofas (just 1 of them tho :) while I waited. If you find yourself on the N end of Wadsworth around 92nd, do yourself a favor and stop by. ***NOTE***: Someone asked me if the place was "across" from King Soopers and it is, *but* it's NOT on the N end of 92nd. PREFACE I went for lunch. I like enough food to keep me from murdering someone in the afternoon, but not so much that I need a nap. I also don't want to spend dinner prices. FOOD Get a moderate-sized meal for a moderate price. I'd call the quality slightly better than average. And the speed-to-table (for me) was impressive. DRINK Four beers on tap, including ridiculously low prices on a local megabrew ($2 pints / $5 pitchers). Bottles and cans of my favorite Mexican beers are available. Of course, I just got a glass of water (which was also tasty). SERVICE I didn't have any issues. Someone was at the bar. Everyone was helpful. The server came to my table regularly. Upon ordering, the food was up in NO time. No complaints whatsoever. ATMOSPHERE Ok, it's a bit gritty. The tables and bar were clean, which is really the important part. The music was just a terrestrial radio station (with ads), but it was fine. There were some DRINKERS in the crowd, and their topics of conversation were less than PC and loudly broadcast (as drinkers tend to do). To put a fine point on it: I wouldn't take grandma there, but I can hang. CONCLUSION This place TOTALLY works for me. Comfortable, casual, tasty, and reasonably priced. G's is great. The tacos are good. And a pitcher of Coors is like $5-$6, which is about $3 cheaper than at Sweetwater. I love the atmosphere, and the people who frequent this bar are great too. The last time I was there, I was watching the nuggets in the playoffs. The staff was great and informed me that if the game went a little long, they would let me stick around after closing. Gestures like this demonstrates to me that this is a place that really cares about their local clientele. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to friends. If I had any constructive criticism it would be to stay open later on weekends. I also wish it was a little bigger, but it's still a really chill place to be. :) read more

We came in here today for lunch and to get out of the office. I had only 45 minutes from the time i left to office and back for a meeting... We sat at the bar, and there was no one else in the place ( Around 12:15pm). The gal behind the bar was friendly and attentive. I noticed there were a lot of 'to go' orders... We ordered chips and salsa... they came out fresh and warm... and the salsa had a GREAT kick to it. After eating too many of them... my tongue was starting to burn a little. Loved it!! I ordered the Steak Fajita Taco ( Grandma Style)..the soft tortillas are crisped up just perfectly. My friend had the taco, but beef... we like them both, but the steak was definitely the better of the two. Great prices... they charge for the Chips and salsa... it is worth it though.... I think G's has changed their tacos since I wrote my first review, because they're different than I described in my first review - and I love them! They seem to grill the shell to harden it - yumm. And their salsas are wonderful. I love the tomatillo on my tacos. I do like this place. The burritos are good, too. It's got less of a coffeeshop vibe now, but that's okay. G's has become our "go-to" place for quick, inexpensive tacos whenever we're looking for some good, fast Mexican. I recommend G's. It does seem they've learned fast and are always improving. They even lowered the bar - literally! It was too high and awkward to sit at, but it's not anymore. Weird, but nice. read more

After visiting this place TWICE, same sentiment and feedback both times from my family which is LOW. We have a 5 year old and BOTH times! We requested a kid's chicken quesadilla...BOTH times it came back just cheese and tortilla with nothing else. I also hope you won't order the Green Chili "Bowl"....OH MAN, what a JOKE! Comes to you in 1/4 of the plastic bowl to-go container where other restaurants fill the "bowl" UP when a customer orders a "bowl" vs. "cup" of soup. I'm not sure if we came to this bar during an off night, but I wasn't impressed with anything that evening. My brother in law was raving about this place, and I loved the idea of it. Tacos, wings, and drinks all in the same place. That to me sounded awesome! My brother's girlfriend arrived earlier than us so she already had a table saved. As soon as we walked in, he was a little shocked that it was that busy. I didn't think it looked that busy, but whatever. The prices of the drinks and food wasn't expensive so that's a plus. For drinks we started out with their margaritas. That should have been a sign for what's in store. The marg's were more sour than anything, I could hardly taste the alcohol. But I chopped it up as it was their "happy hour" margarita: more watered down than the non-happy hour ones. I wanted to try all their tacos but I didn't want the fat kid in me to win. So I just tried 4 of them. I ordered the beer battered fish, rooster pig, so-cal, and steak fajita. We also ordered a lb of the G's SWEET SRIRACHA wings. It took forever to get our food. And what's odd was that we got our wings before the tacos. I expected the opposite. We didn't get our tacos until 10 minutes later. The wings were okay. They were overly sauced, but had a nice crunch to them. I have definitely had better, but the wings were much better than the tacos. The taco shells was weird. They felt like they were left out for a long time. part of it was hard, while the other parts were soft. The beer battered fish had a texture similar to frozen fish sticks. Rooster pig just okay. The so-cal was too spicy for my wife to eat. I ate the rest of it but the flavor was just spicy hot, nothing else. The steak fajita was probably the best out of the 4, but that's not saying much. The service here was just horrible too. We watched them bring out food to tables who were seated after us. We also had to ask for water several times before they brought us out a glass. What a great neighborhood bar! I didn't even know this place existed and it's less than a mile away from my house. We went in the other day for lunch and it was great! I had the tacos and they were perfect! The tortillas are super delicious! The tomatillo salsa was good! My husband ordered his burrito extra spicy, and he was impressed by how hot it was. Also, can't beat $2 pints of beer all day long! plus it looked like they had other good drink specials during football & hockey games. Great place. We will be going back here! read more

Okay honestly this is the best breakfast burrito I've had in a long time! Pretty picky about food so I don't normally write reviews but this place is awesome. Christine was my server she was really nice and super attentive and the food came out almost within minutes of me ordering it. Plus they had Cholula which is usually a deal-breaker for me if a place doesnt have it. Good for kids/ babies or goups who want to drink at 11 a.m.... ha which is exactly the type of crowd I saw when I was in there.
