Shredded beef burrito and ground beef enchilada (see the canned corn oozing out)

Went to Casa Machado with a friend tonight for dinner. I haven't been in years. It is right by Mongomery Field. The good: plenty of parking, friendly service, clean dining room, free chips and salsa. The bad: food was pretty mediocre and bland. The enchilada sauce was blah with no flavor. The ground beef filling in my enchilada was filled with mixed vegetables. The shredded beef in my burrito was kind of sweet which is odd. Overall the combinations weren't expensive at $18.95, but the food lacked flavor and they didn't offer extra hot sauce or salsa on the table. I got the burrito and enchilada combo and my friend got 2 enchiladas. They look almost the same.

Casa Machado has the Mexican food we were craving. Sometimes you just want to have the food you've called Mexican even though it may not be considered authentic these days. It is hard to find a good chili rellano and they have one that is delicious. The enchilada suizas were filled with chicken and the sauce was delicious. The chili rellano and enchilada combo was also great. Their rice, beans, salsa and hot carrots all add to the deliciousness factor. Our server was friendly, efficient and the food came out quickly and was piping hot. It's always fun to watch the planes at Montgomery Field as well.

Excellent service and parking too. Lovely room, delicious offerings. Nice view. $15.00 lunch special.

Service was good and fast, chips are good, chicken mole was just ok nothing special. Sauce was poured over chicken instead on cooking it in the sauce.

Hidden Gem!! This spot is always hustling and bustling but for good reason! The service is always fantastic, and so welcoming! They have Happy Hour M-F 5-7 pm, also daily food specials. You can't go wrong with anything you order... tacos good, tamale good, fajitas good, even the kids meals good! Always start with the guacamole it's the best!

This is a lovely little hidden gem tucked away at the Montgomery Field airport terminal. The restaurant is super cute, food was delicious, servers friendly and provides great service. My son thoroughly enjoyed watching the planes while we ate lunch.

Visited 12/30/2024 https://casamachadomex.com/ I had company for this one so even though there was nice large serving sizes we still had leftovers for another meal the next day. This is an interesting location as it is located at a airport above the terminal on the second floor. Check out Their Website Link. Lots of indoor seating with a fair amount of booths along the windows overlooking the air strip. Service was good for the most part. There is Full Bar Service available. For a Starter we ordered The Sample Plate loaded with Flantas, Taquitos, Nachos, Cheese Quesadillas, and Guacamole & Sour Cream on the side. Pricy but Tasty and a large Serving for the money. For our Main Dishes Loretta ordered The #2 1 Chili Relleno Plate Combo. Very Tasty but needed a bigger pepper and more Cheese inside. Good Coating and cooked well and Great Flavor. I ordered The #16 Combo Plate. Birria Taco and Pork Tamale. The Birria Taco was nice with moist tender shredded beef. Could have used more seasoning especially salt. The Pork Tamale was very good with a tasty filling and moist masa. Beans were excellent and the rice was tasty too. All in all I would come back to try more of their menu. Prices were a bit higher than the going price for a Mexican Restaurant here in SD but still worth a visit. Happy New Years Everyone. Looking forward to my next Adventure for 2025

Chile Verde: One of the worst ever. Bland, no heat, pork cubes were dry and tough! Just awful quality and flavor!

This place had been a go to place for my family for decades! The Sunday brunch has always been great. Last Saturday night we went for dinner. I hadn't been here in many years for dinner. I was surprised that they close at 9:00 PM and the latest reservation they would take was at 7:00 PM! On a Saturday night...No Bueno!! I ordered my staple dish, Chile Verde, which I can usually gauge a quality of a Mexican restaurant off of. Unfortunately, the Chile Verde at this place way under-delivered! It was bland with absolutely no heat! I even tried adding their green and red salsa to it, but still couldn't get much flavor or heat out of it. A total disappointment. I would give the place a 1, but the other dishes we ordered were between a 3-4 quality; plus I really like the location and vibe of this place. Unfortunately, because of their hours the place was mostly empty. The owners need to get their act together, clean the place up a bit and instead of just increasing their prices, which are already high, they need to increase their hours; at least on weekends.

I had to take photos in night mode so it looks a lot brighter than it actually is. If you are going with someone older or who has trouble seeing in the dark, they are not gonna see anything lol 3. I heard reservations were required months out but i went in the same day. It was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend around lunch time but they took walk ins left and right so maybe just dinner is what needs to be booked in advance? The decor was immaculate and everything that came out was delicious and it came out very fast. It is connected to the Lafayette hotel which has the jungle room, bowling alley, pool and multiple bars. You can easily spend the day here. Mmmm not if you have kids though. 10/10 recommend

Beware there's only street parking, no valet service (unless you're a hotel guest), so that can present a challenge. Reservations a MUST on weekends, especially with a group. Now for the food reviews. Everything we ordered was delicious from the squash blossom and smashed tuna tartare appetizers to the El Festin platter (made for groups) . Since the main dining area is kept dark for the dramatic gothic effect, it's tricky to rely on your sense of sight for the presentation of each of the dish. The highlight for me was the chili garlic shrimp tacos. So full of flavor! The only drawback is that many of their dishes are made with nuts. So if you have a nut allergy, which one of us in our group did, the menu was limiting. Overall, it's an incredible place for first timers and out-of- towners. I might return for a special celebration, but not repeatedly. Once is good enough experience, especially with so many other special dining options in our fine city.

Delicious food, great view, and wonderful hospitality!…read more On our last evening in San Diego, we went to Coasterra to wrap up our vacation there. This restaurant came highly recommended by major Visit San Diego websites, and we felt we should give it a try. Located right next to the water, the restaurant offers expansive view of the harbor and the San Diego skyline. Sitting is about 50/50 indoor vs. outdoor, and we chose the indoor sitting as it tended to get colder in the evening. Parking is available out front, but we took Lyft there. We came in around Happy Hour, and we were able to score two appetizers for $11 each. We got fried calamari and fish cervice as appetizers. For entree, we had the fish tacos and scallops. Both of the appetizers were excellent, and the cervice was so light and flavorful. My husband loved his scallop entree, and the taste and presentation were original and outstanding. My fish taco was enjoyable as well. For dessert, we had fresh churro that was paired with ice cream, which was excellent as well. Our meal came to $143 with taxes, which was a very good value with the quality and services offered. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, which made us felt right at home. As for the ambiance, it felt modern and relaxed. There were diverse customers from locals, tourists, and business people. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we will return.

The main courses we ordered we not what our taste buds were looking for. The flan ( Yes, the flan ) was the best flan I have ever consumed. As dense as a cheese cake and coconut flavors of the islands. We lookd forward to giving the place another go because of the Service, the Atmosphere, and the guacamole. We hear happy hour on a week day is the best time to indulge.

From start to finish, everything was wonderful and I will NEVER forget my experience. The food, I mean, the FOOD was undeniably delicious and full of flavor. I've literally never had a better taco anywhere else. The Al pastor was exceptionally juicy and tasteful and I'm so glad I went with my go to because it's a meal I'll never forget. We were split into two tables outside. Overall the experience was pretty underwhelming. The food was not very flavorful - it wasn't authentic Mexican food or even good California fusion Mexican food. I believe it's a chain so not sure if the other locations are better as I've only tried this one.
