I pass by this bakery daily and I had never noticed it. I woke up on a Saturday and saw a post on Facebook. Everything looked so good that I decided to check it out that same morning. I'm so glad I did. They have many pastries to choose from. They are all a good size. We liked the two we got that day. The bakery is small. I didn't realize they had pastries behind the counter as well. I was in a hurry, but I can't wait to return to try out more. The day I went they had tres leches conchas. It sounds amazing.. everyone was super nice and helped me right away. Prices are reasonable. I got two huge pastries for under four dollars. Small little hidden gem right off 1604/Cluebra road. Upon entering we were greeted by two young ladies. Inside it was clean but not a lot of store front space. And no where to eat inside, this is a take and go kind of place. Plenty of options to choose from here. So many it's a little overwhelming! Definitely will be going back! We had a cinnamon roll, very soft and moist. Not too sweet and cinnamon was just right. But this was not little cinnamon roll, we will definitely have enough for a few servings each! The cheese and strawberry danish was also very moist and fluffy. Again not too sweet, went perfect with my coffee. The blueberry danish was ok just not my favorite. There was not a menu that I saw and not everything had prices posted. You can save some money by paying with cash, I think it said they charge 4% fee for paying with cards. read more

My favorite bakery for Conchas in S.A. Small place, but they have all the usuals you'd expect from a panaderia, and they're all delicious. The tres leches conchas in particular are amazing. This is a small little place with a mom-and-pop feel. No place to sit and enjoy though. There is a parking lot for the center but I can see it filling up fast. Delicious looking breads are displayed against the wall and in a case. There are refrigerated sections as well. Not many are labeled and the young lady behind the counter wasn't particularly helpful as she just silently stood there, but before I get into that, why did I decide to stop by here? I read that this place had amazing conchas and that made me think, because I've only tried them once - from HEB - and they were meh and dry and I honestly never looked back. But once I read these sweet breads can be moist? Count me in! I was ready to give them another go. I was excited! But wait, we're vegetarian and I googled it and the topping on the concha (similar to the delicious topping of a pineapple bun at an Asian bakery) is traditionally made with lard. No problem, I'll just ask! If I can't have it, then I can't. NOT THAT SIMPLE THOUGH! Why? The lady didn't know. She only asked the only other lady there, but she didn't know either. Since no one knew and there was apparently no way to call the people who did know, I ended up getting 2 pig-shaped gingerbread cookies out of the plethora of baked goods in the shop. Do note they do charge credit card fees back to you so I guess it was a good thing I only got two cookies or else I wouldn't be able to scrounge up the cash. I left a bit disappointed, I admit. Since there was no certainty in the usage of lard, I had mixed feelings. I'm fine if I know I couldn't have it but now I'm just left hanging with the possibility that I could have it, which is horrible. I guess I'm stuck with my memory of HEB conchas, haha. The good news: the piggies were delicious. They had a licorice-tasting spice in there (anise? Fennel?) that I was not expecting. I enjoyed dipping it into my Earl Grey latte. They're like a soft, not-too-sweet cookie-bread with an egg wash, that reminds me of a Persian ginger-cardamom cookie-bread I've had. I hope they'll find out if they use lard soon, as I found service a bit lacking on that front. They seem to cater more to regulars and clearly aren't used to more in depth questions. Despite the small family business feel, they didn't provide the intimate service one would expect from one. I don't speak Spanish other than the bare basics and I find myself wondering if that would have helped me obtain a better experience. read more

This used to be my favorite place until last weekend, seems like the bakey discriminates against you unless you are actually mexican, i am hispanic and felt very disrespected when i was speaking to the older woman behind the counter geting my cookies and breads and then a mexican customer behind starts to speak in Spanish to the older women and starts to interrupt my order to ask her questions and pay for her item ahead of me, so i gave this customer a piece of my mind. But at no time did anyone one from the bakery tell this woman she was wrong. For that i will never return. Just because i may not look mexican since im light skined and dont speak fluent spanish but do understand it doesnt mean you can ignore me and treat me that way and for a small buisness you should be setting expectations for customers that there is a line and you will be right with them. read more

Worst customer service on 20 Aug 2023. Employee working was not the friendliest. This bakery has a glass encasing behind the register. A customer can't physically see what is behind and she doesn't have name/label for items. My parents asked for pastelito ? Mind you every region in Mexico has a name for pastry. Employee gave my parents what she thought was a pastelito when my parents kindly informed her that the piece she had grabbed with wax paper was not the item they wanted because what she grabbed was considered a "cortadillo" they politely asked that she give them the piece of bread they were hoping to receive. Employee refused and gave my parents 3 pieces of an item they did not want. Her response was " Didn't you see the sign?! All sales are final" . Both my parents are both senior citizens and visually impaired, they drove 35 min to get to bakery only to leave disappointed with her lack of customer service skills. My parents paid for the charge even when wrong order was provided. Had it been me you were helping, you would have gotten zero of my money or business. Every time we go to my mom house she always says "me traes pan dulce" which means bring me Mexican sweet bread. I mean what San Antonian doesn't know about Pan Dulce?!?! If you don't you must live under a concha . So we Yelped the closest panadería (bakery). This when we found Guanajuato Bakery. Gracias Yelp!!! Because of COVID, they do require to a limited amount of people inside and to wear a mask. Thank you for caring for your customers safety! We waited in line, not for very long. I mean if you know, you know that when you go in, you almost automatically start rattling off "can I please get...". The interior is so clean and it smell delicious . All you can smell is pan dulce. Páramos de cortarla para ir a hablar con alguien de la panadería. Mi hija esperaba que le ofrecieran algún crédito ya que era clienta de ellos. Cuando mi hija fue la dueña inmediatamente le hablo mal y le dijo que si le regresaba el dinero que ya nunca le iba a vender pan. The Rosca de Reyes was supposed to have 7 plastic babies inside as part of the tradition. We had a family gathering with the Rosca and when we cut into it, there was no caramel. We moved passed that and continued to cut it to enjoy the tradition. However, the plastic babies were also missing. We were stopped cutting it and my daughter decided to take it back to the bakery and talk to them about it. When she went this morning she thought they would offer credit since she was a customer there. The owner was immediately rude and told her that if she returned her money, she would no longer be welcome at the bakery. The owner returned the money and after she noticed that some pieces were missing, she yelled at my daughter, told her she was wrong, and called her names. Terrible customer service!
