Go-to bakery for Mexican sweet breads, cookies, cakes and biscuits. They specialize in traditional Mexican Pan Dulce, along with some original goodies. Affordable in some cases, it does get pricey, when buying some of the more holiday typical offerings. We come here weekly to get their biscuits, which are more Mexican style and delicious. Love their polvorones (cookies) too. Great location, good people and service. Nice place.

A historic Mexican bread bakery that has been in operation for 60 years! Was not sure what to order my first time here, but the staff was more than helpful! There are just so many choices to pick from. The Pan Dulce options include: sweet potato empandas, Pink Cake, and conchas. Pick whatever you think looks good and you won't regret it. I choose the sweet potato empanada, the gingerbread pig, and the Mexican wedding cookies. All were delicious. Different than what you'd taste in a normal doughnut shop but so many fun flavors to experience and try. If you're interested in trying a Mexican bread bakery, why not choose from the best at Bedoy's!

Bedoy's is an iconic name in brown San Antonio, i.e. la raza lol. They have a classic selection of Mexican style pastries and sweets. I arrived right before closing tonight to find a young lady cleaning in the back but dutifully donning her apron to come wait on me when she heard the bell. You can tell they had a busy day because alot of the inventory was wiped out but there was still enough to choose from. Maranitos (gingerbread pigs), empanadas (turnovers with filling, usually pumpkin), piedras (sweet pastry made like a drop biscuit), and polvorones (large sugar cookies) are among my faves. My most favorite (but they run out alot so I don't always find) are the Mexican biscuits. I warm them in the micro and put some butter and rasberry jam and I am in heaven!

I've been wanting to give this bakery a try when I was visiting San Antonio. Finally stopped by today to check it out. There was a small line to get in due to Covid restrictions and how many customers (7) are allowed in at one time. They have a much wider selection of treats than I thought and I was able to come home with a few. Unfortunately, none of it's labeled, and as a "gringo", I don't know most of the items. I originally went in looking to find bolillos that were similar to those of my youth when my mother would go shopping somewhere in San Antonio. These bolillos were OK and very simple. However, at 4 for $1 --they are quite good!

The baked goods aren't on the menu, so when we walked by the counter filled with croissants, kouign amann, bear claws, apple pie, cheese cakes, it was hard to choose what we wanted!! We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Almond croissant - a monster sized, flaky croissant with a generous almond filling. Guy Fieri highlighted this croissant on his DD&D show. It's probably a million calories not worth it! Tequila strawberry tres leches croissant - a small, cream filled croissant with strawberries. This was our least favorite. My husband didn't like the filling, I didn't like the sogginess of the croissant. Coffee - really good brewed coffee with free refills. We plan to go back a few more times while we're in town!!

I chose this location because it was close to my hotel. The first thing that caught my eye was the pastry display. I had heard great things about their conchas, so I purchased a chocolate concha, a chocolate croissant, and a guava-filled pastry. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. All three pastries seemed a bit dry to me and didn't live up to the hype. I also tried their brunch offerings, which were good but nothing particularly memorable. On a positive note, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, respectful, and welcoming. The ambiance was casual and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to visit overall.

It tasted about as good as a donuts gets. This shop makes their donuts more cake-y, but not overly sweet. I really came here because I wanted to try the bacon in the sun, and it was also great! It's savory and sweet, and tastes like if a pancake was a donut. I liked both donuts, but I think I'd only get one at a time, because it got too sweet for me at the end. Overall, really good donuts, I'd only get the specialty donuts because they're all quite expensive.

Aggressive drivers, anxious shoppers, and every retail worker putting in a Nikola Jokic triple-double. I understand it is a different beast of food service when it is December 24th. Christmas breakfast is what starts off your day before ripping through presents, and this year my parents thought Duck Donuts' Christmas-themed donuts would be a fun change of pace from the cinnamon pull aparts that we normally do. On Christmas Eve, we placed a mobile order on the Duck Donuts website, which requires a mandatory tip to order online, and we selected the ASAP option that said it would take about 30 to 40 minutes. My dad, who was in charge of picking them up, said they were kind of behind and typically that was fine. However, as the donuts were coming out of the fryer, they were immediately decorating them with the icing and the crazy and unique Duck Donuts toppings. When the order was ready, my dad noticed that the dozen donut box was quite hot. Donuts are not usually served warm like that. When he got home to show them to us, all the designs of their gingerbread and other Christmas flavors had melted. All the creams had completely melted. It looked gross. We put them in the fridge to try and preserve them from melting any more, but only so much could be done to salvage them from their depressing state. It was a little tragic. I feel like this is a very rare occurrence from Duck Donuts, as we have had donuts from this location before and enjoyed them. It felt like the fault of Christmas special orders and the rush that led to a breakfast disaster from what was meant to be a special start of the morning. All things considered, the donuts were fine. They tasted okay, but they gooped up in your hands and just felt wasteful. For the price, you would hope they would not melt before you got home. Duck and cover donuts. At first, from the outside, I thought I was walking into a barbershop because of the door, but stepping inside was a fun surprise. The space is really unique--almost like a mini indoor shopping mall. The coffee shop is right at the front, but as you walk further back, there's a barbershop and a few other small shops to explore. Despite all that, it still has a chill, relaxed vibe.
