The cakes and pastries are the best. Service is great. And it's good vibe. I love the empanadas.

I remember seeing these bake shops in California and was pleasantly surprised to find one in SA! I believe it's only the second one in TX. I had been searching to find a bakery for a special occasion celebration recently...but finding one that was open over the holidays was difficult. This one popped up and so I checked it out. This Filipino bake shop had some beautiful cakes displayed. I wanted to order a cake that had a combo of chocolate and coffee, and the employees here were very helpful. Ended up with a choco mocha crunch cake- $39.99. Nice and light and was topped with they called honeycomb candy- light and crunchy with a toffee/caramel flavor. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered an ube coconut roll for my Birthday! Two flavors I absolutely love, anything ube or coconut!! This roll was yummy! Very light, with a mild flavor of ube, and contained small pieces of coconut. My absolute fave that I will order again!! Note: they do not bake onsite, as their cakes are shipped frozen from CA. They do sell savory meals and snacks like empanadas and packaged rolls etc. I may have to try next time.

This place is awesome. We stopped in for coffee not know what type of restaurant this was. The coffee was great... nice and strong. Services was fast. Nice music playing in the background. We had a great time drinking coffee enjoying the nice atmosphere.

Can't forget to stop here after a long HOTTTT day at seaworld. Gotta get the halo-halo and some ube & butter mamon!

Good quality of food just like in the Philippines! Also all of the staff we interact with were all attentive.

I tried the spicy chicken empanada, pork empanada, and the ube bread. Empanadas are around $3.89 and the ube bread is also around $3. The spicy chicken was amazing! The crust of the empanada is very unique. It is different from Argentinian empanadas. The empanada outer shell is more pastry-like, so it is crumbly but not dry. The spicy chicken filling is SO creamy! The ube bread was almost like a light sponge cake texture. I am interested in trying more of their cheese bread items as well as their entrées!

Newly opened location; second location in Texas. Bigger than the Houston counterpart, it provides a sizeable seating area. It has a good amount of breads to choose from ranging from packaged emsaymadas to moist choco cakes. At the counter you can order hot meals such as empanadas and arroz caldo. They also have a good selection of cakes offered in slices or as a whole. A favorite go to is the mocha cake and ensaymada.

Placed my order online and was able to pick up my order earlier than expected. Paid for 5 pandesal but only received 4. Everything was delicious. The bakery itself is clean but only person working the back and the front. The sans rival was delicious as well as the ensaymada. I did get a bowl of arriz Aldo, hot and yummy. Halo halo was so good to bring me back to good parts of my childhood. Ty

I had been hearing about the news that Red Ribbon Bakeshop was opening a location here in San Antonio and I can't believe the day has come. When I found out that it would be closer to Sea World, I was a little bummed since we live at the opposite side of town. Yesterday, we went to Trader's Village to see the sunflower fields. We had an impromptu family dinner to go to and I thought to bring the Mango Supreme from Red Ribbon Bakeshop. Thankfully, it was a 15-minute drive away and we planned to eat lunch there. There was about a 10-person line outside, which gave us time to review the menu and decide what to order. There's about 4 tables inside and 2 lines to order. Since we're there on the 2nd day of operation, they're still working through the efficiencies. The display case showcased their cakes beautifully and the store shelves were full of baked goods. Dad and my husband wanted the Arroz Caldo (Filipino breakfast porridge). It looked really good, very hearty with lots of chicken. Both Dad and hubby thought that it had too much chicken, an unusual problem! I ordered the Palabok, a noodle dish with shrimp sauce topped with boiled pork, crushed chicharon, and fried garlic. The crunch of the crushed chicharon on the palabok was so good. I realized now that I forgot to put lemon juice on my palabok. I thought it was for the arroz caldo! That would've made the dish even tastier. My husband also wanted to try the chicken and pork empanada, and Dad and I shared a pork empanada. The chicken was on the dry side but the pork was perfectly good! We successfully bought the Mango Supreme cake to bring as dessert for dinner. I couldn't wait to eat it again! I honestly can't remember the last time I had a slice. When I got my slice, I had to sit momentarily to admire all the layers since I'm a baker myself. From the delicate chiffon to the signature cream layers to the mango glaze to all the fresh mango pieces. It was so light and airy! I just love the sweet taste of fresh mango. The dessert was surely a hit and everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It was wonderful to share this Filipino experience with my family. I also bought a 6-pack Butter Mamon and was gift the 7th free. It's been even a longer time since I've eaten one. I shared them with our neighbors. My husband and I each had one thing morning. Hubby was wishing we had strawberries to enjoy just like strawberry shortcake. He enjoyed it and it reminded him of a similar sponge cake that his Mom used to make. I had the buttery mamon with coffee and it was simply perfect. Now, I want to try the other flavors like ube, mocha, and cheesy. Even though it's a bit of a distance, I'm already thinking I want to try the Brazo de Mercedes, Sansrival (for me), and Ensaimada (for Dad).

First of all, the amount of excitement I had when I found out there was a Red Ribbon opening was through the roof - having moved from California, Red Ribbon was always a staple. That being said, I will be a admittedly hard in the place a little bit because like Jollibee, it's a big chain with some existing expectations. First of all, I'm not sure if this is true now of all Red Ribbons, but the selection is so small now, and it seems like most of the character I remember has been shed for standardized, corporatized packaging. The prices are also steep, which I imagine is partially also because the goods need to be transported farther. But, I also think they know Filipinos will come and support regardless, so I walked in and had the distinct feeling of being nickel and dimed. Also - the meal combo menu does not have dinuguan. The vibe is honestly sort of touristy - I think everyone there was a Filipino female bringing their non-Filipino partner or friend and perhaps some kids. I think that's the draw, really: a nice, tame intro to Filipino food and desserts for the inexperienced. That being said, there are strengths. There was someone making sure that the shelves remained nice and stocked. Literally, an employee was waiting, watching as I plucked a single mamon off the shelf so he could put one in its place. Parking is great. When I was there the staff looked mostly comprised of newbies who had several mishaps with the ice machine trying to make a halo-halo, and the cashiers were clearly reciting a script; some would get very flustered if you said or asked something that required them to go off script. The baked goods are all nice and moist (but, if you're hoping for something on par with the fresh Filipino bakeries on the West Coast, please adjust your expectations first). I don't know if I will go to the trouble of coming back anytime soon just yet, but I am glad it is here. If you come for cake, get the mango cake. Nuff said.

The food was good but I did notice the flavors were not exactly how I remember it to be in the Philippines and in California branches. The restaurant may need more chairs and tables to keep up with the demand. The overall bakery was tidy and clean. The ambiance was quiet. I kind of wish they played some music or made the music louder. We had a palabok, ube ensemada, and mango bar. Overall come here for the nostalgia!

Tequila strawberry tres leches croissant - a small, cream filled croissant with strawberries. This was our least favorite.
