I ordered delivery from here. The guacamole was okay. It was very fresh and slightly chunky, but also quite salty. I ordered spicy and it had no kick at all. It also didn't come with as many chips as I would have expected. The veggie mexican empanadas were disappointing. The dough was very crispy, but noticeably bitter. Maybe there was something wrong with the ratio of ingredients in the flour, but the flavor was very off-putting. My husband, who pretty much eats everything, wouldn't even finish the one he tried. The tostones were tasty. They were not crunchy, but we still enjoyed them. The accompanying sauce had a subtle flavor. For my main, I had the veggie quesadilla. The veggies provided a hearty bite and the tortilla paired well with the sour cream and sauce. My husband got the shrimp enchiladas. This dish was shockingly overpriced at $38 for three relatively small pieces. I know delivery app prices can be a bit inflated, but this felt egregious. I was happy with the churros. You can choose caramel or chocolate. The churros were stuffed, rather than served with a dipping sauce on the side. They had the perfect amount of sweetness. My husband has a sweet tooth and would've preferred more of a sugar coating. My daughter didn't even eat her chicken fajita, and no, she didn't want to take it home. At the end of the whole experience we needed up with a hefty bill with and automatic 20% tip --- for a party of THREE! When r has the tip been automatic for a party of three, that included TWO KIDS!!! Appalling!! And to add further insult to injury, they charged a 3% credit surcharge. My overall total: appx $194!!! Did I mention we were a party of 3 that included TWO kids UNDER the age of 12???!!! The Cuisine used to be much better, guess it's a different cook now. I've had food here before, and the food and I'm house service was excellent. Today, however, it left a lot to be desired. I tried to place an order via GrubHub for pickup that would have totaled over $150. When I attempted to put in my card, the link wouldn't allow you to access the section to put the number in. I called the restaurant to place the order and was told I needed to call UBER to handle the problem! It would have taken ten seconds to take the order and have it available for pickup! I made reservations prior as our party was 11 and we were able to secure a spot. The restaurant has a bar area and plenty of seatings throughout the bar. We were immediately seated and greeted. Restaurant was busy but there was still Available tables. The restaurant has a great ambiance I love the paintings on the walls. However, our servers and PAVEL is what made the night so great as they provided excellent service and made us laugh throughout the night. We will definitely come back for the next birthday event here. For Appetizers- we got two of the Guapos appetizers platter and it was perfect as it brought a variety of appetizers to try. We also got some epanadas and maduros rellenos everything was 10/10 the empanadas were my favorite they were so flavorful. For drinks some of us got champagne, wine and margaritas. The margarita passion fruit was bomb with Don Julio tequila even better. Inside, the walls are decorated in a traditional sugar skulls. Theres also a dj which is there on certain days after a certain time. Tuesdays are Drag Nights! Youll have fun for sure! The happy hour is top tear in my option. Offering apps and drinks. As some places ive seen have a small option of apps available for happy hour. Love the updated menu as well. When we ordered our drinks we wanted a pins colada but they just put the mix in at 8pm so it wasn't ready that was a disappointment. The passion fruit Margarita was delicious. A neighborhood place that may not get much exposure outside the downtown Yonkers area so I'm here to shout out what a great experience we had here. Long restaurant with nice bar, DJ booth and art work throughout the restaurant. The bright blue couch banquets were comfortable and the hospitality was muy bueno. I hear they have a good nightlife scene and certain day(s) they have DRAG shows. We started with cocktails that were kick ass strong. Split the Cuban empanadas. Empanadas come four to an order which enabled us to have a variety. I liked the ropa veija the best, chicken, shrimp and a vegetable were also good. For main courses the Pernilito was a massive pork shank covered in a demi glaze serve on a huge wooden plate than spun with rice & beans and maduros. The waitress laughed when she saw my face and reminded me, she said it was big! The pork is cooked slowly for 6 hours, and IMHO roasted to perfection. Fall off the bone with a satisfying taste. Definitely a hearty meal with plenty to take home. My daughter had two pork chops grilled and fried with caramelized onions served with the same demi-glace and mashed potatoes. She decided against the mashed so was offered rice. She opted for the yellow rice. A small portion of black beans accompanied her meal. I had a taste and let me tell you it was sweet and savory. Just delicious. They serve both Cuban and Mexican dishes with a variety of regular and specialties for both cuisines. Do yourself a favor and go check them out. Maybe you'll see me there. read more

Guapo is a great little Mexican and Cuban restaurant in downtown Yonkers that is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. The service, the food, and drinks are all on target!! Oh, and the fabulous special events they organize (like their amazing Tuesday night drag dinners) help make Guapo even more special. Things to try: 1) Happy Hour - From 5p to 7p usually, but extended to 11p on Tuesdays during their drag queen night. HH at Guapo includes half price drinks (but of course), and most of their drink menu is included. 2) The wings - Get the non-breaded Guapo ones! They are big and juicy and tasty! The sauces are also great (and the hot one is not too hot). 3) Ropa Vieja - This dish is super yummy and very authentic tasting. Plus, they serve up quite a satisfying portion. Note that the accompanying yellow rice is super tender and yummy, too 4) Fajitas - I ordered the chicken ones, which were on sale for 25% off on drag night. The dish was tasty and portioned well and served with that yummy rice I previously mentioned. Other standouts include the margaritas--all the ones we tried were good and strong! Also, be sure to ask for hot sauce. They have two kinds, and both are yummy (and the verde one is not really that hot).
