we had an emergency situation with my daughter's dog and unfortunately, she passed within 15 minutes of us being seen at Guardian in Middletown...... I can't say enough about the amazing wonderful staff that treated us with empathy and care in the short time we were there... everyone from the receptionist to the vet techs to the veterinarian herself ....couldn't have been more kind and treated us with the utmost tenderness during this really time

I've come here more than I'd like to admit for my three outdoor dogs. My experience has always been very positive here. Very attentive, communication is clear and service professional.

This is an update from a review I wrote previously. I do not have enough good things to say…read more I have now been here twice with very different outcomes, though both ended exactly as they "should." The first time was 6 years ago with my dog who was bitten by a venomous snake on a hike. By all accounts, he should have died. They absolutely saved his life and kept me updated every step of the way (it was covid, so I couldn't even go in with him). He had to stay overnight for 2 nights and the vet even called me at 10pm with progress reports. They gave me an estimate range, and while it's expensive to save your dog from a copperhead snake bite, the bill actually came in at the very lowest end of the range. They were phenomenal. My dog fully recovered and is happy and healthy. Today, I visited again with my 15 year old cat who needed to be put down suddenly and our local vet was closed. Once again, they could not have been more thoughtful in how they handled us and our beloved cat. The vet explained things clearly and sensitively. Immediately, they offered to sedate him in the exam room with us so that he wouldn't have to be scared and taken away. They brought in a bed for him and we were able to be with him and pet him until the end. It was the least stressful it could have been for our cat. Every staff member was sensitive, respectful, and accommodating. I'm incredibly grateful. Two of the worst days of our lives could have been much, much worse without the care we received.

I am deeply disturbed by the dishonest billing practices and dismissive customer service at VCA…read moreFlannery Animal Hospital. During our visit, the vet explicitly advised me that blood work was necessary to properly diagnose my pet. I was given a financial estimate that included this blood work, which I explicitly agreed to and authorized. At discharge, I was charged the full amount of that estimate. Because no one discussed the lab findings with me, I assumed the results were still pending and that I needed to call back. When I called for the results, I was shocked to be told that the blood work was never actually performed. To make matters worse, the staff insultingly claimed that I had "declined" the service--which makes absolutely no sense given that I paid for it based on the required care outlined by their own vet. When I tried to address this blatant error, the front desk staff was incredibly condescending and dismissive, giving off a "deal with it" attitude. Charging a pet owner for diagnostic procedures that were never performed--and then shifting the blame onto the client--is entirely unacceptable. Check your receipts carefully if you bring your animals here.

It was so different when I came here. Unfortunately, it was not the outcome I wanted - but the doctor (whose name begins with an M I believe, I'm sorry - I'm so bad with names!) informed me we can do all these procedures, but in the end my pigeon Lola was too far gone. It was the most humane thing to let her go. I really felt like I got all my questions answered, the doctors/vets/workers were so empathetic and kind to answer all my questions. If your animal is in an emergency, and you want the honest truth, and honest help from people who care about animals - come here. Even though I ultimately experienced a devastating loss, these people really helped me when I needed it most. They also offer pet funerary services which was nice as well. Thank you so much.

It was like being in our own home. There was a fish tank, bookshelves, etc. My husband thought it was a bit over the top, but I can see how dogs would find it much more comforting than a cat would. Molly was peaceful and calm. She was allowed to be in her carrier after the initial catheter procedure. She didn't like the catheter in her leg, but otherwise it was much better than lying on a hard metal table. We opted to let her gently fall asleep and then left the room for her final moment.

After searching Yelp for an open Veterinary Hospital on a Friday night; found Eclipse open 24 hours. So, I made the call and spoke with them to confirm they were open and they have the ability to address her situation. Arriving after a 20 minute ride, there was no waiting time, they took her immediately to the treatment area for a prompt examination of her situation. After completing the initial intake documentation we spoke with a technician to explain the situation that led us there. After a period of time, the ER Vet - Dr. Charlotte Van Horne spoke with us regarding the different pathways of a diagnosis for the treatment of vertigo, along with of her progression . The Doc gave a thorough explanation and was showed patience in answering all our questions. She didn't rush or push her treatment, and I appreciated the clear explanations provided and treatment plan. After a day at home, we decided to bring her back Saturday since my dog refused to eat or drink water for approximately 24 hours, hence she was unable to take her meds. The waiting room was busy with other dogs and cats. We spoke with the staff and then consulted with Dr. Katie Bazewicz on her diagnosis and our options. We chose to admit her for the next 24 hours so my dog can get the proper amount of fluids via an I.V.; actually kept her admitted until Monday morning when our dog would be examined by the Vet Neurologist - Dr. Boaz Levitin. He provided a thorough exam and gave his diagnosis which gave us comfort with the current treatment plan and didn't just push us for an MRI, which isn't the best option due to my dog's age. We were extremely impressed with the level of care and attention we received. The entire medical team was professional, knowledgeable, and communicative; from the receptionist, med techs, nurses, doctors, and specialist. The staff were friendly and empathetic throughout our several visits. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The waiting room is large and nicely decorated for the holidays. They have a complimentary water, along with a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine to include a soda/snack vending machine. The price points for the services may be higher than your usual Vet bill, however you need to understand that this is a 24 hour ER service. It could be a little pricey, but my question is how important is your furry family member valued by you and your family in your home. Overall, I was very satisfied with the care provided and would highly recommend Eclipse ER Vet Hospital to others. The compassionate and professional service I experienced is a credit to the hospital and its entire staff.

Unfortunately, my dog was diagnosed with a heart murmur which I was unaware of, so they did not feel comfortable giving her the sedation she needed to take proper X-rays of a possible hip or lower back injury, which was a bit concerning. We did have a long wait, but to be fair, it was a rough night there and there were pets there with more significant injuries, so I appreciated their prioritizing them. They were able to administer pain meds though, which helped my dog feel much more comfortable overnight until I get her in to see her regular vet the following day. The bill was a bit high for just a preliminary evaluation, a basic cbc, and one shot of pain killer but it was worth having some peace of mind that my dog was seen and in far less discomfort overnight. I would definitely go back if I needed to, as the care she received was prudent and they were honest with me about their concerns about the risk of sedation for my particular dog.

What an incredible group of people!…read more My dog is susceptible to pneumonia and when he had a wet cough on a Sunday, I knew it couldn't wait for his primary vet on Monday. In the past we went ton other emergency vets and unfortunately it was always a long wait, you were away from your dog the entire time, and they wouldn't release your dog to you until after you paid. VEG is different than all those places. We were seen immediately and while they do have an open concept ER, they gave us a private room just in case. The nurse (Diana) and the vet (Dr. Schwartz) were all incredible. They took such good care of our dog and us! They allow you to be with your pet during X-rays which I found amazing. The behavior this practice has exhibited has been avoidant, evasive and disappointing. I called distressed after my dog was having complications healing from surgery after a lipoma removal. We arrived on a busy Sunday and were taken at the end of a triage. During our time there I voiced to MULTIPLE techs that my dog was bleeding through his gauze. 2/3 responses were a deadpan stare and the words "ok". It took 3 times of me asking/ pleading for someone to listen to me. Even then I was armed with loose gauze and a wee wee pad. When we were finally seen I was so relieved i let this all fall away. I was so happy my pet was taken care of I went home following their orders and protocol. The next day I realized all the sutures at the site had fallen out and we were back at square one after spending hundreds of dollars. Naturally I was upset and placed a call to the location. I was placed on an infinite hold 3 times with no answer until i called from my friend's phone to which they picked up immediately. I have been calling every day since Monday with not a single person giving me a call back or without any financial compensation for the negligent job they did. I have given them since Monday to give me a call back and fix this. I've called every day without a call back. A wonderful nurse immediately checked the kittens and found one had dangerously low blood sugar. Unfortunately, after waiting over an hour and half Dr. Alexander Bingham told us our kitten had no chance of survival and strongly recommended euthanasia, saying she would die within hours and nothing will help her. We refused to give up. Another doctor gave the kitten corn syrup, and she became more responsive almost immediately. He came again saying that its agony movements... We took her home, kept her warm, bottle-fed (that we bought in petsmart) her, and today she is completely healthy and thriving ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That same day, my cat was later diagnosed with a deceased kitten still inside her. Dr. Alexander Bingham repeatedly pushed for emergency surgery and spaying.Wheny I asked why spaying he said "it's just how I work". However, after receiving oxytocin, she naturally delivered the kitten herself just before surgery, making the procedure unnecessary. She also made a full recovery. The bright spot of our experience was nurse Amanda R. Anette, whose kindness, compassion, and empathy meant everything during one of the hardest days of our lives. My biggest disappointment was Dr. A.Bingham's lack of empathy, poor communication and speaking faster than you can hear. Absolutely willingness to give up so quickly and trying KILL instead treating. Instead of offering hope or discussing all possible options, he immediately recommended euthanasia for a kitten that is alive and healthy today because of mine and my fiancee stubbornness. I am incredibly grateful for the nurses and the second doctor (I don't know her name) who gave my pets a chance. Without them, the outcome could have been very different. This week we went with a newly adopted dog so we could get her microchipped and have her Rabies vaccine done. For some reason, even though the first shelter the dog was in had "spayed female" on the paperwork, the lack of a spay date made the person signing in our dog suspect that she was not spayed. Do yourself a big favor and bring in spay documents if you have them. If you look at our dog's abdomen, there is a spay scar. We had to have bloodwork done to the tune of $40 because they did not want to give her a rabies vaccine because there was no date of a heartworm test on the shelter paperwork either. The shelter had the dog on heart-worm preventative and flea and tick meds. We needed a form filled out so we could apply for a Lifetime PA dog license since she was now microchipped. This was a $15 fee but it saved us gas and a trip to our vet which I guess is fair but it literally took two minutes to fill out. I did end up paying close to $300 for everything. Finally, I had to wait several minutes to get the rabies certificate filled out. During that time I noticed a board with rebate information. I was surprised that the clerk who we paid made absolutely no mention of the rebate I could request for the flea and tick meds we purchased. What surprised me even more is that when I went on line to do the rebate, T.A.R.A. was not on the list of participating veterinarians who sell the product. I had to add them on manually. All this being said, the veterinarian and the tech who took care of our dog was very nice.
