The place looks clean, food was decent. The prices are good compared with todays inflation of everything. I'd say this place is a keeper for me, Will definitely come back.

I'm really bummed out writing this but this place needs help with the service. Lady helping my mom with here order seemed annoyed. But what put it over the top for me was when I asked one of the ladies cleaning up what the code was for the bathroom. I put in the code and it wasn't working. So I went back to ask her again to make sure. When I asked she gave it to me but with an attitude, like I owed her something. SMH. To top it off the food was cold. I wonder what would happen if I took back the food and said it was cold? The one bright spot was the pan frances and pirujos from the bakery. It's what I come for whenever coming to one of these locations. I'm not sure if things will change here. I read other reviews about the cold customer service from the ladies behind the counter. Just be for warned.

Yum yummy - super yummy. Am I a stalker- maybe I am - yes back again for more deliciousness. Restaurant delish, bakery side another delish. I'm obsessed with the bread pudding. Just so delicious chewy, not too sweet- perfect . Hubby obsessed with the cheesecake. Now restaurant- wanted the blanco chicken but still cooking- about 15 minutes wait but I didn't have time so I just ask for the next best thing- chicken with potatoes & tomato sauce - just a party in my mouth. The flavors. Staff friendly. Ambiance . Ohhh and their tamales . Today we had the chicaron- no I didn't lick my plate .

They have a small parking space, and meter parking outside, they take credit cards, the staff if very nice and welcoming, I order a ponche and it was really good and friend plantains with beans and sour cream. I haven't tried all their food but what I had was good and I recommend. They take credit card, and it a very nice place where you can order different stuff you feel like eating. Kind of like Panda Express Guatemalan style. The place seems very family welcoming and nostalgic food.

Q mal que un ponche de fruta sea hecho de lata! Se siente el nectar de la lata. Fail on this one!

Being a proud Guatemalan I'm always searching for some home cooked food to soothe my soul. Been coming to this spot for a few years and food is always on point. Ladies behind the counter can be a bit rough at times but hey that reminds me of growing up with my mother aunts and any Guatemalan lady cooking kicking me out the kitchen when I'm trying to sneak a taste. Service is quick they have a line with the food you can see makes it easy to point and make a choice. Place is spacious clean plenty space to sit and enjoy your food. My favorite dish is ilachas however we were there for breakfast this time so I ordered different stuff. If you haven't had Guatemalan food will highly recommend this great experience.

Unfortunately we will close the year with a very bad experience here on this place. Through the years I've been how the owner or owners of this palace have become greedy. Yes they have improved the place but they hike the prices like they are the only option in the neighborhood. And that's a lot to say, they have like 4 or 6 of this franchise. But lets get back to business. On this review, I will attach a photo of my receipt in case somebody can explain me why my tab went from $14.98 to almost $19.00 with the taxes. Its the only place that I know that taxed you almost 25%. The food its not bad for what it tries to be; homemade, but certainly I am sure that their employees make at least $23 p/h since they tax you that high after the prices on their menu. NOT WORTH IT people!!! Please look for the small guy places, that's really homemade cooking. This people already forgot where they are coming from. Now that they are corporation simply don't care about the original idea of becoming a place where the Guatemalan community got together to have a piece of the homeland through an affordable meal. That's sad. Not coming anymore to this place.

The restaurant was pretty dirty and the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. I had to beg a restaurant across the street to use their restroom. But, the food we ordered was mostly really good and the service was very friendly and accommodating. We even had a birthday cake with us and they offered to put it in their fridge for us and didn't charge us any extra for cake plates. We had a large group so we ordered some drinks and the giant sampler platters. Everything on them was really good except the chicken wings and pork belly were a little dry and nothing special. Pretty meh. But I loved everything else. The other thing that I don't personally love is that they have a have DJ playing music and talking as well as large tvs playing sports, so the restaurant is really loud. Like you can't hear the person right next to you. If that's your vibe, then check it out but I felt really overstimulated by the time we were done and couldn't wait to get out of there. I'm glad I got to try Escala but I don't know that I'd seek this place out again, unless it just happened to be convenient. Parking sucks in this area and there are so many amazing restaurants in K-town. I'd rather keep exploring.

Everything was seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. The fish and oysters were fresh and the drinks were damn good. My only tiny critique is that the Kona Kanpachi could've used a little more flavor, but the fish was so fresh and vibrant that I didn't mind. It's has a large bar area with natural light that comes in through the windows. They also have a lot of seating. When we walked in we were greeted right away by the host. He asked if we had reservations. We replied with a no. He took a few minutes and the said that he could seat us. He took us to a booth in the corner and then told us that our waiter would be taking care of us soon. He asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We told him water and he brought us some water fairly quickly. Then another person showed up and he told us that they would take care of us the rest of the evening. Our waiter was very friendly and did an excellent job all evening. After looking at the menu we decided what we wanted. We started with the guacamole chips and salsa. The chips were okay. They were lightly seasoned with salt. The guacamole was fresh and the salsas were tasty. I preferred the green salsa as the red salsa was spicier. For my main meal I ordered the Quesadilla filled with skirt steak, pico, avocado, salsa, and crema. The quesadilla was delicious. I've never had a quesadilla like this. It was rolled up and looked like an egg roll. The steak was very tasty with a lot of flavor and the other ingredients were fresh. It was so good. For my side I ordered the rice and beans. The beans were good and had flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked. Combined the rice and beans had flavor and were very filling. Overall Encanto was a very nice restaurant. The bar area is large, the seating was comfortable, the service was very good and the food was delicious.

The highlight of the meal was the ceviche. It came bathed in a delicious pineapple based marinade that had the perfect amount of heat. The octopus tostada was delicious but hard to eat. The mound of octopus and veggies was piled so high that we ended up using plain tostadas to spoon on a bite at a time. The kanpachi tostada was just okay, nothing bad but not great. I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back.
