I came Saturday for lunch. The beef tacos are delicious - moist and tender meat, melted cheese on the taco shell (Yay cheese), with a side of refried beans, rice, and shredded lettuce. I order it almost every time I go. I am not one for spicy food (I know - why then am I in a Mexican restaurant?) and this is one item I can safely eat. If you do want spice just add some of their salsa to whatever you order. They bring two salsas to the table with complimentary tortilla chips. One is kind of spicy and the other one definitely spicy. I have a new last meal. It is Guayo's Carne Asada Rib eye steak. It is the signature item on the menu so I had to give it try. That was the best steak I have ever had! The steak itself was very tender. However the green chili and cheese made this a religious experience. Im not a big drinker but the Margaritas were outstanding too. Very good red chili meat. Tortillas were fresh and tasty with butter on them. We really love this place hidden on the downtown street of Miami where all the antique shops are. I would suggest if you are in the mood for really good Mexican food hidden away in an old historic town and business district ... this is the place. The only reason they did not get 5 stars was because the service was a little spacey. They kept forgetting about us needing drink refils and just seemed like they had to much other stuff going on but there were only a few of us eating at the time. If the service improves - next time they will get 5 stars because the food really was amazing! read more

This place was delicious!! The decor is a bit out of date but makes up for it with its amazing customer service and delicious food. I got enchiladas with green chilies on it and it was so good!! The beans were creamy and the rice was not hard. I grew up in a small town so when I found this place we just had to try it!! If you're driving by I would definitely recommend!! I was there today with a group of about 20, as my car club stopped for lunch when we were touring the area. Solid Mexican combo plates. They lose a star for the service. We had one server and she couldn't handle us on her own. Too many screwed up orders and forgotten refills. Still, it's wasn't that bad. read more

Very good Mexican food. The red and green chiles are both very flavorful. The corn tortillas are excellent. Both the regular and hot salsas are fresh and delicious. The chips are a little bland, but that's why you have salsa. Shredded beef tacos are nice and juicy, with just the right amount of salt. I love, love Guayo's on the Trail (as well as the one in Miami). Guayo's Mexican food is my favorite, and with so many delicious options for Mexican food in Globe/Miami, that's really saying something! Their red chili is the best! Yes, it might look a little dated inside but that kind of thing doesn't bother me, I think it's part of their charm. It's a really old family business, and I love that. They are also very accommodating and helpful, we have held too many gatherings here to count over the years and they have a couple of nice big areas where you can seat lots of people. We were referred to this restaurant by the park ranger at Tonto National Monument. She said that it was the best mexican food in the world. Perhaps I am spoiled by living in SoCal or perhaps I just prefer a different style of Mexican, but I believe she was sorely mistaken. The food wasn't terrible. And I was pleasantly surprised by how good the margaritas were. But certainly not the best in the world, nor in the Southwest. Both the chimichanga and the combo plate of enchilada, tamale, beans, and chile were about $10. Seems a bit overpriced, especially for being in the middle of nowhere. It was clear that my combo plate was done first since there was a film sitting on the beans from being under the heat lamp. Also, while our server was charmin and helpful, the restaurant was very in-your-face (signs on the menu guilt-tripping you not to use credit and around the restaurant apologizing for not thanking you, which they didn't) about preserving small businesses and small-business charm, but the servers were overly concerned about who had what table and not helping the customer and the cashier seemed bothered when I went up to pay. That said, it seemed like a place for regulars so they must be doing something right for the locals. read more

Sometimes Mexican food is... well.. just food. While the dishes on the menu aren't unique this restaurant does them very well In a casual atmosphere. I had the beef chimi with green chili and it was flavorful with something extra I still can't understand. It almost seemed smoky. The rice was perfect and the beans smooth. I also tried their relleno which was uniquely filled with creamy chicken and cream cheese. It was perfectly battered and cooked I would have preferred a more potent chili used in it though. The salsas were fresh and herbal with the green salsa having a nice bite and the read almost a bit sweet. Excellent. Enough said. If you're in this area definitely go. Old, vile building. It looks dirty inside. I ordered "mini"enchiladas; they were humongous. Three covered 3/4 of a platter plate. We were in a large group that had made reservations at least 30 days in advance. We were seated in a private dining room. For over 30 people we had one server. I've been coming to this place for 38 years. The food is fantastic. Service ebbs and flows but the food is worth it.

So Globe has A LOT of Mexican restaurants and this is one of the better ones. I recommend their spicy salsa over the mild. They have really good entrees. I've had their tacos, enchiladas, and tamales. All were quite delicious. The service is great and friendly. The restaurant was clean. The only cons were with the cheapness of the place. You only get a small bowl of chips with your salsa if you want more chips you gotta pay. What to take your leftovers home, you have to pay for the to go container. Want a to go cup, you're going to pay. Then they have the nerve to ask you to pay with cash so they can avoid the credit fees. So just a heads up. Otherwise great food and service! read more

If you're driving through Miami skip the wires in downtown Miami and just off the trail before you get to globe. We always go out of our way to hit this restaurant on our way home from Tucson. The food is always great. I totally disagree with all the bad reviews about the staff. We have never experienced a rude server on any of our visits. As a matter of fact, the one waitress even remembered us from an previous visit months earlier!! But I do agree that the chip bowl is a little skimpy. Regardless, Guayo's has great tasting Mexican food that makes the trip worth it. read more
