Highly recommended! They have transformed a old property into a beautiful Asian decor with a Chester county feel! (Yes, that is possible!). An extensive menu that is not only the features favorites from Lily's KSQ - but some very well prepared American dishes. (I had a delicious pork chop with sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts.). GuGu never fails to amaze. there is always a wide array to try and tonight it was the Truffle Toro sashimi and sushi. it was amazing and May as well have been room temperature butter as it simply melts in your mouth. followed up by the duck as an entree the meal was amazing. The short rib fried rice was spectacular and left nothing to be desired. we also had the Live Lobster roll (it is steamed cold water lobster, not raw) which is always a must order when we eat there. For picky eaters not content with sushi type offerings the hibachi or grill items are amazing as well. My son ordered the General Tao's chicken and it was excellent and steps above your typical Chinese restaurant type. It didn't need to be drowned in sauce to cover up susbstandard ingredients. The chicken was excellent and will please anyone. The cat delivery robot is fun and exciting to see And watch. It was very busy and despite us arriving without a reservation, we only waited a few minutes to be seated. A number of families arrived right after us and had to wait so if it is a busy time, call ahead. Even if you have to wait, it is well worth it. It is BYOB so you can bring a nice bottle of wine and have an amazing meal that is one of a kind. This is not your conveyor belt type of sushi place. You are getting the highest quality and freshest sushi grade fish so just know it isn't a cheap low grade sushi place. Final thought: Try the Tuna. The Truffle Toro is nothing short of amazing and worth the (market price tonight was $18) cost. The bluefin Tuna is also melt in your mouth perfect. read more

I don't know why it calls itself fusion except maybe fusion is the trendy thing to be. What I see is Japanese and since that is what I am looking for that is good for me. I get in the area every other week and get a late lunch there when I do. Sushi rolls are good but recently I've been having the Sashimi Bento. It comes with a sweet potato roll which I don't like but they always let me substitute a different, inexpensive roll (at first I tried avocado but recently the waitress suggested a California roll and that is better). I noticed a big differences to other people smile and attention but not to us. The waitress provided great customer service to others and ignore my family. Every time we go out to eat, I want to come to GuGu. My favorites are the crispy Mongolian tenderloin beef. The pad Thai is also very tasty, although there weren't any bean sprouts which was unusual. Dynamite roll was amazing and I can't go there without getting the eel roll. read more

We have heard a lot of positive remarks about Lily Asian Cuisine in Kennett Square despite their higher costs than other similar restaurants, so we just ordered our first order from their sister restaurant. It was incredibly disappointing. The lettuce wrap chicken was so salty that I could not even eat it, and it was missing ingredients and flavor found at other establishments. The vegetables in all dishes were minimal and they seemed to be skimping to save on expenses. Their assumed signature dish of GuGu Chicken was Italian-like and pitifully lacking with just 2 pieces of broccoli and a couple of noodles. We do not plan to return unless they step up their game. read more

This place is absolutely amazing for hosting events. The downstairs is an outside open air area that can support up to 100 people. We had about 50 folks there last night and it was absolutely outstanding. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and it is BYOB so we brought a ton of drinks for our guests to enjoy. So excited this is finally open. My husband and I went for lunch. Space is lovely - they did a phenomenal job repointing the stone and brick - the wood is all beautiful - really nice interior. Food was delicious and we are picky (!!!) because we like to cook. We got the Bento Box lunch special - very reasonable at $12-14 - I was full after the soup and sushi. This is Asian with a twist as the soup was butternut squash vs a traditional asian miso, wonton or hot & sour. My guy got the General Tsos short ribs - delish! I got the Curry Massa???? something - really good with chicken avocado peppers mushrooms and potatoes - also delicious. We got spicy tuna rolls instead of the sweet potato (guy hates sweet potatoes LOL) rolls that come with the Bento Box - really good. I also got a salad for extra $1 well worth it - very fresh and LOVED the dressing. Service was excellent and very attentive. Again, we are picky and loved this place - so happy to have a new restaurant in KSQ! Go check it out - you wont be disappointed. read more

I've eaten lunch here three times, always choosing the lunch bento box. It has been good, but not amazing, usually at a 4 star level. Today we were disappointed. We arrived about noon on a Monday. The building has been beautifully renovated from what it was as Hugo's or the Longwood Diner. We were promptly seated in the large back area, which was rather chilly. We kept our jackets on as did diners at one of the two other occupied tables. Our waitress quickly brought our drinks and took the order. Miso soup came almost immediately and was normal, standard miso soup. We finished the soup and waited about 25 minutes for the two bento boxes we had ordered: thai massaman chicken curry and pad thai with tofu. While waiting we observed the waitress accompanied by a robot bring out four orders to other tables. Entertaining! When our boxes finally arrived we found the temperature of the dumplings variable, some cold, some luke warm. The chicken and vegetables in the curry were nicely cooked but the flavoring was quite bland. The dish of rice came out about five minutes after the box. This curry was OK. The pad thai was mostly noodles and very tasteless. I saw no bean sprouts or egg, only a few scallions and peanuts for vegetables. Nothing special about this lunch. read more
