I've been to the La Habra location and it's nice to know that the Rowland Heights location is just as yummy and has the same amazing deals like their lunch specials at $22.99. My pops found this place on TikTok, which by the way, I think is funny and ironic since I don't use that brain rot app even though I would've been the person to most likely use it. Anyway, the $20 price point sold him and the reviews seemed decent enough, so why not give it a chance? The $20 menu is only available between 1130 AM to 4 PM. However, they offer this generous pricing EVERYDAY which is awesome. I'm stuck at work from 9 to 6 throughout the week, so it's very rare I get to take advantage of something like this. Since I was dieting (I know, I know, dieting & KBBQ in the same sentence doesn't make logical sense), I only stuck to the non-marinated meats and ate only vegetables, so I can only speak on those things. The brisket and beef belly were excellent, although this was based on my preference since they were definitely on the fattier side, especially the beef belly, but that's a given. Speaking of bellies, pork belly was good. It was uhh... Thick and long. And meaty for sure. Thick pork belly is best. They also offer thinly sliced pork belly if you prefer that. Their "buffet" section is very limited. They do offer something unique that I haven't seen before which was tortillas lmao. I've seen IG reels of people bringing their own tortillas to KBBQ, so it makes sense that they'd offer it. And they have pico de gallo too which was pretty bland. It was more of a tomato, onion, cilantro salad 'cause there was zero acidity or seasoning. According to my sister and nephew, the buffet stuff was just alright. Service seemed to be a common pain point for a lot of people and that was my main concern. Service surprisingly wasn't that bad to be honest. It did take a little bit of time to flag people down or receive service, but nothing unreasonable. Plus, they are DEFINITELY understaffed here which is why they take a little while to get to you, but they were never rude or made us feel rushed or anything, so that was nice. This place used to be Buga KBBQ, which we really liked a lot, especially their beef belly. It's changed ownership and been renamed. Came here for the first time since the change, for their $19.99 AYCE lunch special. For the money it's a good deal. However, I thought the meats and flavors were just okay. I like that for some of the meats and bon chon items, you can get them yourself at their self serve area. The lunch special price is what brought me in - it's good but not great. I think people will either love it for the value or be just okay because of the quality/taste. It's your own preference on what matters more. Interior hasn't changed much from before. We found Gui Gui when we did a search for an AYCE KBB in the area. We liked that the place was really clean and the staff is on top of everything making sure we had everything we needed. They have 3 different options and all have great meats included. I liked that they had a meat bar area where we could walk up and grab it ourselves. Sometimes we want more or less of an item so this made it easier for us to get what we wanted. If there was a meat not available at the bar, we could press the button at our table and the server would come right over. There are many side items that we enjoyed like the gyosa, glass noodles and rice. They also had jalapeños and onion which is always something we look for to throw on the grill. We came here at the last minute and really had no expectations. We were just hoping it was good as some of the reviews stated. We arrived JUST before the rush, so we were lucky enough to get a table. After looking at the different levels, we decided to just go with Menu C. It comes with the usual banchan sides (kimchi, rice paper, pickled cucumbers, etc.) of which you have to order separately also. So, how this works is that there are some meat items for order and some items at the bar. We ordered beef belly and brisket initially, and both were solid, though we liked the beef belly more. We also got the marinated pork belly from the bar, and it was very good. We also did had some of the marinated meats... and they were only okay. Some of the banchan sides were also at the bar, which made for a few trips back to the bar which, for us, was on the other side of the restaurant. Now, this started to be a pain as we had a larger party and things were getting eaten pretty quickly. I think the biggest issue for us was the poor air ventilation.
