After reading some of these reviews, there seems to be a reoccurring mishap of customers not getting their cars fixed and NOT getting their deposits back from this con man after being fed endless lies about their car getting fixed. Unfortunately I am one of these customers. I brought my vehicle into his shop last December 2025. Mike "gladly" took the car in and did not do any repairs for 6 MONTHS after telling me it would be almost done. Moreover, he also gave me loaner vehicles in the time being that he was falsely repairing the car and one of them stalled in the middle of the freeway while I was driving back from work! Smoke started emitting from the hood and the car came to a stand still. Not only does this man lie to his customers, he does not care about the well being of them either. I even had the Bureau of Automotive Repair visit his shop, and he promised to pay me in full and provide my car parts by December 20. Since then, I've visited his shop multiple times and called repeatedly, but he's either never there or outright avoiding me. I even gave him an extra month to make things right, but it's clear he has no intention of following through. This is a dishonest and unprofessional business. Mike & Miguel at Guidos have been taking care of me for the past year and I don't know why I'm barely writing this review. They always service my car like if it's their own and want me to be safe. Even if it's an oil change or brake job they're always there for me I don't need appointments which is best for me because I'm always on the go. We've been coming here for many years with all of our family cars. We trusted Mike for many years but something has changed and he is not the same reliable person we once trusted. Most recently he kept my son's car for 3 months, giving us the run around about needing to test the a/c and claiming it was at the a/c shop. When we insisted he return the car no matter what the a/c condition he finally left it for us to pick up. The car had and additional 5,500 miles on it, personal items were missing, and a strangers items were in the glove box!!! He claimed ignorance about the mileage, blaming the a/c shop but refused to give us the name or number of the a/c shop. Clearly he was lying about everything and refused to take responsibility. It pains me to write this review as when I first met Mike I felt he was an honest trustworthy mechanic. He came as a recommendation from Ms smog. Her services are impeccable. As far as Mike goes, he received my insurance money in Sept 2023 to repair my car. He was unable to do that after ordering two different parts. I trusted him and gave him the full insurance payment so he could proceed. Supposedly the parts were defective. It has now been 1 year and 5 months and he still has not paid me back my $6800 of insurance money. I cannot get my car fixed till he makes this right. He explained what his basic oil change is and how they go above and beyond to check everything and anything that could be a safety issue down the line . Although this is an electric service shop, I usually come here for an oil change for my BMW. It costs about $100. It seems expensive but for the synthetic oil, filter, and labor the price is just about right. Luckily I only have to change oil every 10,000 miles for my car. They have a couple of chairs and a few magazines for you to relax if you don't have anywhere to go. If you're hungry you can also walk across the street for some food. I like walking to the dog park which is down the street, which is probably a little creepy since I just dog watch... but whatever! Ask to speak to Mike. He's a really laid back guy who assists me with whatever I need. Recommendation: Call ahead! The wait can be lengthy if you come during busy weekends. read more

My dad has been coming to this shop for many many years and has always had nothing but a good experience. Unfortunately my car needed some work done and Mike educated me on what needed to be done and how soon it could be done. He also made me aware of potential issues that I should keep an eye on. He changed all of my engine mounts that made the car vibrate terribly, changed the oil, cleaned the throttle body and rotated my tires all within hours of me dropping off the car. The owners and crew of Guido's are the most nice, honest, and human mechanics I have ever encountered. Period! Mike goes above and beyond to not only give good service but to help people. When my car would not start from a dead starter he personally drove to me to give my battery a jump start to drive it to the shop, and gave me a very reasonable price quote for a starter + install lower than most other shops I called, and offer me a 3 year warranty on my new starter in print. He also replaced one of my battery terminals that was loose with an extra he had laying around to save me future headache. Today I woke up to find my battery dead from leaving my flashers on all night. I remember when Mike's dad began training with Guido back in the 70's. I was having some serious electrical issues with my beloved over 220,000 mile Dodge Grand Caravan. Every repair shop gave up. They advised it would cost more to fix it than the car was worth. Then, I remembered Guido's Mike's dad was still there! His dad(Miguel) introduced his son Mike. He immediately showed genuine interest, confidence and proceeded to break down the process and cost in a most logical manner. It was not a matter for him of weather it could be fixed that was a given just weather it might cost 85.00,225.00 or 400.00. At worst he said, he could simply replace the dashboard panel. But perhaps he could find the specific issue without doing so. I said we'll 400.00 was my budget. Anything less I could then have enough money to fix my passenger power window. Well, it did turnout cheaper and so I was able to spend the money he saved me on repairing the window unit. We are so lucky to have Mike take over his father's auto electric repair. I usually go twice to a business before posting a review. I feel that this is fair. Well, the first time I went to Guido was for an oil change. They did the usual and topped off the fluids. To my surprise, they checked my brakes and tires. Mike informed me that my front tires were bad and I should look into replacing them. He also fixed my cigarette lighter because he noticed the fuse was out (no charge). I was pleased with this service. I returned and got my brakes done and 4 used tires (they look pretty damn new!). This guy is honest. He quoted me prices for everything before he did it. I shopped around and his shop was the better deal. I was skeptical at first because I've been cheated in the past, but I'm very happy with this place. They fix everything! Great service! Great prices. Mike definitely has my service. Mike is interested in building a trusting relationship with steady customers. I took my older Accord in that had a hard start problem, and other mechanics couldn't figure out. He fixed it quite quickly for a nominal charge. Older cars often start with electrical problems, but he can go from there, and do pretty well anything. Went in on a Monday to tell Miguel about my issue on my 83 El Camino with a steering fluid leak. He said bring back tomorrow morning at 8am and we'll check it out. Showed up the next morning and they knew to expect me and left my car with another mechanic. They had the car Tuesday, Wednesday, and finished it Thursday. Miguel keeps you updated throughout and made sure to call me before doing any other work. They took care of the steering fluid leak, added a heater core part I took, replaced the three belts (which I agree were needed because they were making a squeaking noise/ cracked) and figured out what was making a loud noise when starting the car. It was the starter. I also asked him to check the electrical to see if there was anything draining the battery like a short and it turned out it was the alternator. As an extra they replaced my battery terminals and they looked nice. I'm happy with the work they did and it cost me under $900 for all this work. You be the judge on price. Parts, labor, and taxes. I believe the #1 quality you should look for in a mechanic besides the great ability to fix cars is honesty. I have a 2001 Pathfinder, and 2004 350Z which I will only trust in the hands of Mike and his mechanics. Before I started going there I used to take my cars to the dealerships for repairs. The dealer would always tell me I needed more done than I really needed, and also quoted more $. With Guido's Auto Electric I have found a place where I can trust the Mechanic, and in my opinion a Mechanic is the Dr. of your vehicle.
