Been here a couple times and it's always good. We got seated pretty quick on a Tuesday night before 6. Our server was super nice and they have a great menu. Food came out pretty quick and the drinks too. We got the soup, a pizza, and fettuccine with grilled chicken. Good portions and all tasted good. I've had better fettuccine on the Hill but this was good too. It's a higher end place with prices that reflect that.

    Veal Parmesan

Veal Parmesan was chewy and under-seasoned unfortunately. Pasta on the side with white sauce was bland, needed more garlic. Garlic cheese bread was okay. Complimentary bread was also bland. Overall underwhelming for the price point.

Guido's is my favorite!! It is my favorite spot on The Hill to get St. Louis style pizza. I live out of town and almost always make a special trip to Guido's each time I'm home to experience the delight of eating a Guido's Deluxe Pizza but I add bacon to it. It's what I remember IMO's pizza of my childhood tasting like (elder Millennial here ;-) and I just crave it. This little family owned spot is such a joy to spend time patronizing that I even celebrated a milestone birthday here with family and friends recently. We had a wonderful time! In addition to great pizza they have wonderful generously portioned Italian meets Mediterranean style dishes along with St. Louis favorites like their yummy toasted ravioli! In a large group of us that included a vegetarian and others with dietary preferences, everyone was able to enjoy a yummy dish. The staff here is attentive and knowledgeable, though sometimes I try to sneak in a bit of cheer to help them to remember to smile. I love the cozy feel to this little spot. It transports you in the best possible way to a nice and welcoming Italian dining room and I'm here for it! If you're curious, I'd certainly recommend checking out my favorite restaurant on The Hill-Guido's Pizzeria & Tapas! In warmer weather they also have a cute little sidewalk patio that's great for people watching!

Old world charm you can count on every time you go to this iconic restaurant on the Hill. Service is nicely formal, really makes you feel like they are pleased to serve you and give you a good dining experience. Menu is another part of the Guido dining you can count on time and again. Hot, cold tapas, small plates, entrees, pasta, panini, pizza,......unique yet comfortable in ingredients and familiarity. Glad some things don't change.

I ordered the Meatball Sandwich. Overall, it was a good sized sandwich, with about five two inch meatballs. The meatballs were a little bland, and I would have liked more sauce on them. The bread was tasty, with a nice chew to it. The sandwich came with a good sized order of fries that were seasoned well. The restaurant was decorated well for Christmas and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Delicious and authentic, this place does it right. The cozy, intimate ambiance was perfect for our group of six, and I loved that they sat us at a circular table so we could all chat and share plates easily. Our server was super friendly and quick with drinks. For apps, the meatballs were my standout: tender, flavorful, and large enough to share with another. The goat cheese was good too, though I'd probably skip it next time--tasty, but not very "goat" forward. We loaded up our pizza with toppings, and it came out piping hot and perfectly cooked. A great low-key dinner staple spot on The Hill.

I love Guidos! I haven't been in forever so I decided to stop in and sit at the bar. I was really craving one of their pizzas. Their thin crust St. Louis style pizza is amazing! I got the chicken Alfredo pizza. OMG it's so yummy. It has chicken and bacon on it but also spinach and red onions. Just perfect. Of course, I couldn't stop in without trying some toasted raviolis...the St. Louis staple. They have some of the best T-ravs in St. Louis. Check them out! Make a reservation if you can. They can be busy!

We had a great date night here. Although the seating is a bit condensed we were able to enjoy our space. The complementary bread was basic and just ok but appreciated. We had the pizza with the mix of mozzarella and provel. It came out hot and fresh. I prefer the taste of imos better so maybe I would stick with straight up provel next time. The chicken wings were good. I got the sauce on the side because I wasn't sure of the spice level and even though it had a kick I would say it's probably tolerable being tossed in the sauce which was really good. I also feel like you get a nice portion for $13.99 which is rare these days with wings usually being so high. The Caesar salad was kind of bitter tasting. The calamari was good but a bit too salty and not meaty enough. The lemonade tasted like prairie farms so I wish they would upgrade that. Our server Alan was super attentive, and personable and did a great Job. And upon entering and exiting the staff was welcoming. Very much appreciated. Can't wait to go back for more!

I love love love Guido's! They have FANTASTIC tapas, great drinks, and great service. Every time I come here, I am incredibly happy when I leave. Check it out if you have a group that can't decide between Spanish or Italian food, because they have both!

Guidos is my favorite restaurant on the hill. It never disappoints. The service is always incredible. The food is absolutely delicious. The ambiance is cozy. Perfect spot for a date night or lunch with family and friends. Also, don't skip the sangria!

I have always received excellent service and delicious food from Guido's; they treat my service dog chili and me like family.

Excellent choice for a wonderful lunch. Great Sangria for the Spanish taste and super good Salcicia sandwich that was plentiful. I let the server choose my side that was pasta with a mix of red and white sauce. The sauce could use a bit of spice but otherwise good. The sandwich was EXCELLENT! I recommend it for either a lunch or dinner meal. Fries are good too with a nice crunchy crisp. Eggplant Parmesan was also reported as excellent too and better than some other places on The Hill.

My husband and I were in the neighborhood for a party on Friday night and decided to stop at Guido's for some small plates before heading home. We arrived at 9p and they close at 10p. I was pleasantly surprised how we were treated by the staff. I've work in the restaurant business years ago and know how it feels when you are close to closing and someone walks in. We were made to feel very welcome and were given amazing service! The restaurant was very clean and had a really good vibe. I have to admit I was expecting more of an old world feel but it was more contemporary and classy. We ordered the Guido's Signature Salad, Cordero Lollipops, Patatas Bravas and Bacalao a la Vizcaína. Each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely amazing! Our favorite was the Cordero Lollipops!! Absolutely delicious. There is quite a bit to choose from on the menu and that makes me very excited! Starting with the small plates gave me the tasting that I needed and now I want more. I can't wait to try more of the tapas, pizza and move on to an entree. Guido's get ready for me. :-)

I called to place an order, the man that answered was very short, he said they were busy and wait would be an hour and and a half, I said that's fine. Continuing on, ordered the special minus mushroom. Wanted to ask if a different topping could be added but was cut off and my ordering was over. OK, NBD. Got to the place to get the pizza, my husband went in to grab it and the man at the counter was rude and short with him. Also the place was empty so maybe we called in the order during a dinner rush hense the 95 min wait, again NBD. An employee pulled the pizza out tossed in in the counter and walked away. Then a younger employee walked up to the counter and collected money. I'm hoping the older man was just having a bad day, but being rude in 2 different manners is not a good look. When we get home and started to enjoy this pie half way into eating a slice was a nice piece of rubber, kind of looking like a hair tie or something. Now that's a huge turn off. First experience and now the last. Sorry folks but bad attitude and a foreign object is at all not appealing.

Parking is easy within a block or two. Outdoor, booth, and table seating is available. My husband had the gluten free pasta because it is also vegan, and no lie and true to form, it was delightful and light! The tomato sauce is Perfection: not too acidic, not too sweet, letting the grand yet humble tomato shine. I chose the puttanesca, one of my favorite traditional Italian pastas. I would order this again!! Had plenty for lunch the next day. Not to be left out: the toasted ravs and cannoli. I've had a few T-ravs since moving to StL, and these are excellent. The tomato sauce for dipping, once again, is a real treat. The cannolis? Precious, flaky, and dreamy. I ate one at our table and took the second bad boy home. FIRE.

While traveling through Missouri, my wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner. I searched…read moreYelp and came across Anthonino's. I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.
