The staff were friendly but our server seemed to have too many tables as he never came to ours to take our orders, we had to keep walking to the bar to get our Mimosas refills. The restaurant was clean and decorated like a typical beer themed restaurant. The brunch buffet was ok. The bacon was great but no other meal items stood out. I've been to other drag brunches and I feel like this one started late. It was a total of 4 performances, 5 if you include the MC. 3 of them were great (the MC being one of them. The star was a queen from RuPaul Drag race ... she gave the worse performance. Guilford Hall is a great place for groups because there is so much seating. I love the outside area set up with picnic tables which gives it a relaxed feel. My family and I had a few drinks after Mother's Day brunch. I ended up ordered the Caesar salad which was a bit underwhelming, but did the trick. My sister ordered the Pomegranate Chili wings which she loved. They smelled so good I was honestly a bit jealous. The staff did a nice job of coming around to check on everyone. Absolutely the best pretzel I've ever had in my life. Beer is legit, and good variety. I has English IPA and Kölsch. Both were good. Their food is also surprisingly good. Steak frites were tender and cooked perfectly, although there was a bit too much "char". Still very good. Had whiskey bread pudding as part of the restaurant week menu and it was excellent. Stopped by for a dinner and a drink. I don't recall the beer I had, but I believe it was a Kolsch. In any case, it was delicious. I ordered the beef stroganoff for the main course. There wasn't as much meat as I was expecting and wasn't super flavorful, but it was very tender. The noodles were cooked al dente. The service was fast and friendly. The former Crown Cork & seal factory has been meticulously restored and also offers patrons a lovely outdoor ambiance/beer garden. The hostess was incredibly welcoming when our party arrived. The beer menu includes a variety of options, even flights! Bear in mind however, this isn't like your typical Baltimore brewery. Guilford Hall is modeled after a European-style beer hall. Don't search for happy hour deals here but you will find a hefeweizen or a delicious octoberfest. While we were very impressed by the massive pretzel on the menu, overall the food is a tad pricey for what it is. For instance, the Duck Confit Poutine entree ($16) was a teeny crock. We ordered this, albeit among many other items, to share and the serving size afforded each of us a single bite (we were a group of 4). We also felt a tad rushed by the bus boys. Easily the worst service ever! I got my food about an hour after I ordered, and half an hour after the rest of the table. It was over cooked, expensive and not very good. I checked this place out for happy hour and I'm glad I did. First off, it's a lovely space, open and airy, and the bathrooms are to die for! Sat at the bar though there was plenty of seating throughout available - I just always like to sit at a bar, lol. A bartender handed me a menu and I perused the beers. I saw they did full 16oz pours of their draught beers, but also did flights as well, which is an option I love. Unfortunately there weren't enough beers I wanted to try to order a flight. I went with the Golden Ale, which was really good! I also ordered the grilled salmon. It was soooo good, I wanted to lick the plate. I popped into Guilford Hall Brewery on a Saturday night and am happy with what they're doing there. The staff was extremely good natured. The beer master (I can only aspire to have a title that impressive one day) Martin even gave me tour of the place and described the journey that the owners embarked on and long short they've come a long way. Anyway, I'm not a huge beer guy so I was happy to learn that they are one of the rare breweries that has a liquor license. I had a couple of Spiro Peach Teas and they were the perfect mixture of refreshing and strong. I mean of you're going to drink, drink right? The kitchen was closed so I can't speak to the quality of the food but I'll be back to check out the brussels and fish and chips. I'm glad Station North is gradually growing it's neighborhood spot scene and will definitely return. read more

I love a good brewery, and when they have fun events I love them even more! Ive been here a few times and mostly on burger night because not only do I love beer, I love 2 for 1 beers even more! The burgers are so good, juicy and well cooked and the fries are perfectly seasoned. The burgers come on the best pretzel bread ive ever tasted, I cant wait to just eat pretzels here. Ive been on trivia night and its such a good time, the staff (both trivia and brewery) made sure we were having a good time despite being the worst in the room at trivia. I love this place for watching the games with friends or for brunch. Plenty of seats and lots of TVs with all the games on at once, but its spacious and classy so you don't get a sports bar vibe. The bottomless mimosas are great and all the food is great and reasonably priced . They have mainly Gerrman beers mainly but also wine plus a full bar if you want something else. Sadly I cannot recommend the beautiful Guilford Hall Brewery. It has so much need for improvement... Service is non-existent, really hard to swallow. COVID is a thing of the past, and the tables scanning menus with Toast and servers being stretched between many tables... Not a good formula. Today was a repeat visit, and yet we had the same basic poor service and overpriced food. A $10 Caesar Salad should have been $4 and was NOTHING like the picture on the Toast app. The kids sliders was a joke. $7-8 at best and he didn't even like it. The Bacon & Bleu Bloody was a watery, weak bloody Mary before the bacon and Bleu cheese were left off and brought out in a less than desirable fashion. Bacon grease dripped cold bacon isn't exactly what I wanted or expected. I ordered five minutes or more after the rest of my party and my mixed drinks and meal came out 7-10 minutes before theirs did, and they didn't order nearly as complicated of a meal. The esthetic was great! The beers were ok, but the atmosphere was not great. Food menu was overwhelming, and you also had wine and cocktails? It seems that this place is going through and existential crisis and the owners are trying to make everyone happy, which from the business perspective I sort of get it but with that attitude you are doing mediocre things to make everyone happy. Pick a theme and stick with it. We sat at the bar and we were able to see the bartenders, they don't know how to pour a beer and one of the servers asked for a French 75, the bartender said 'I have heard about it but I don't know what it is' both of them started to look to see what it is. Also, the menus where nasty, there was dry left over food on them and there were two kind of prints for the menus, (thin and thick paper). It is a shame because I really want this place to do well, but they might need to figure out what are they, are there a restaurant, a tap house, a sport bar? Oh, Guilford. You have so much potential yet I fear poor management will be the death of you. To be clear, we live super close (the door-to-door walk is just over a minute). Yet our experiences have been so underwhelming since opening day that we rarely go. Recently, we had someone in from out of town and decided to go here for dinner. We had all been previously though not in many months. We took an empty table in the courtyard and waited to be acknowledged. And waited. And waited. We tried to flag down a food runner (who made eye contact) but she looked away and meandered back inside. (Side note: two of the food runners appeared out of it - draw your own conclusions). One of our party wanted a paper menu rather than scanning the QR code on the table so they went to retrieve. Finally, after about 15 minutes someone came to the table. Drinks were ordered and an apology was offered about the delay in visiting the table. The server said she would bring us our drinks as well as a bottle of water. Our drinks were served several minutes later (the water did not arrive until about 30 minutes later). We placed our food order and everything seemed to be going well. The appetizers arrived quite quickly but we did not have cutlery or napkins. As the pretzel arrived first, we asked for napkins. The food runner retrieved and brought us beverage napkins (wtf?) though when the other food runner delivered the salads literally a minute later, we pointed out to him that we did not have setups/cutlery. He left to retrieve them and we stared at the salads for a minute while we waited. The server arrived in the meantime and we pointed out to her that we needed cutlery. She quickly brought setups to the table for us. The (out of it) food runner finally returned with cutlery and pointed to what the server had just dropped off, saying, "They're right there." Still, he left them and went back inside. Literally within two minutes of our appetizers being delivered, our entrees were served. Awful pacing. But we were happy to have food. The food was mediocre. The fish had no flavor, the lettuce was wilted in all of the salads and the burger was overcooked. Guilford, you've got a lot of nerve charging the prices you do for the quality of the food you serve and the service provided. While I hope you succeed, as it's great to have something like that in the neighborhood, you've got to make some serious changes. And what is the point of putting discount offers in your emails when no one who works for you is aware of them or familiar with the concept? Please, I implore you...do better. I'll start off by saying the ambiance in this place is great. I loved walking in and seeing the different varieties of seating, the lettering on the walls, and all of the people chatting with their friends. My friends and I enjoyed every beer we ordered. We tried to taste a little bit of everything. The friendly prices definitely allowed for that. For the cons: 1) There seemed to be lots of workers wandering aimlessly, not doing much. I arrived and waited almost 10 minutes before a server came with drinks for the rest of my party, and when I tried to ask her for drinks, I was told to wait for my waitress. She eventually came another 5-10 minutes later. I tried to understand this when it was a packed house, but when the hall got emptier, service still seemed slow. 2) The food had excellent presentation, but the flavors were very much lacking. The sausages tasted like unflavored pork at best. I'd liken them to the middle of a corndog. The pretzel was alright, but the beer cheese tasted like something from powder. I just expected better. 3) The only time service seemed fast was when they were removing our empty glasses. I would love to come back for beer, but I'm not sure I would venture out to eating more of the food. I would hope the service would be a little quicker, too. read more

We came specifically for restaurant week to try out the food and beer. We also came at 5:20 so we could experience the happy hour beer specials. Overall we had a very bad experience. We sat down and waited 25 minutes before we were able to flag down a manager to come and take our beer order. Shortly after the only server scheduled during restaurant week came over to take our food order. We realized after waiting another 15 minutes for our beer that the order had never been placed. After finally flagging down our server again he placed the beer order and the manager came over and made an excuse about there being a lot of beer orders which I knew wasn't true because I was watching the bar the entire time. He did at least offer to comp our beers. We got our beer at 5:55 so our window for happy hour ended. Our 1st and 2nd course arrived at the exact same time. The pretzel and flatbread were ok. The steak and frites were good as well. The beer battered fish, however was horrible. It was panko breaded with no hint of beer batter and looked nothing like the pictures we had seen online. The only saving grace of the meal was the dessert which was good. We got the salted caramel cheesecake and the whisky bread pudding, both of which were amazing. When it came time for the check out beers were still on the check which I had to point out which made the already awkward situation even worse. After paying, I noticed the automatic 20% gratuity was also added to the original total, but didn't want to seem like more of a nuisance after complaint multiple times and figured $2.40 wasn't worth bringing up. Our final server was fantastic and really friendly, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to salvage the experience for us. We will not be going back. read more

We came at a time where only a hand full of tables were served, waited for 30 minutes to get our order taken, for about an hour for even the first course to arrive (a pretzel that should take 2 minutes to get to the table). We had finished our drinks when the food arrived, but eventually had to leave after two hours before our deserts were ready. Overall very poorly run, no communication between waiting staff and kitchen, amateurish experience for which we were autocharged 20% gratuity. Go for a drink. We went for dinner on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. Surprisingly, my party of two was promptly sat at a high top near the door. Thankfully, staff noticed us shivering and shut the front door (thank you!). Our waiter, Nnamdi, helped me decide between the bangers and mash OR the shepherd's pie. I came here with a few friends for drinks and dinner and had an awesome experience! I had my dog with me so we sat on their outdoor patio which was pretty big, well decorated, and pleasant! I love how dog friendly they were. They came over right away not only with waters for our table but also a water bowl for my dog! Later on they gave her a biscuit too! I ordered the flight which was an awesome deal! $12 to try 6 of their beers! For food I shared the pretzel and sweet potato fries which were all awesome. I ordered the sausage sandwich which I think could have been seasoned better- I thought it had come with mustard but I didn't taste any. I also ordered a half liter of the Golden Ale.
