Stopped by on a Sunday and very glad we did. Lots of parking and seating indoors and outdoors. I can see that it's a great spot especially in the summer months. They have board games inside and multiple seating areas. The crabcake sandwich with fries , old bay wings, Bavarian pretzel was so good! The house made ketchup was a hit and complimented the fries well. If I'm ever in the area, these would def be my go to. We also tried the hot chicken and waffle, the breakfast Sammie (the hash brown was. AMAZING!) and of course their beers. Being that it was right off I-95 and route 1, it made it a great stop for people on the road.
Such a fun opportunity to enjoy Irish brewed Guinness, local inspired beer and some local/Irish fusion food. Based in a random location in the outskirts of Baltimore, this beer oasis has what you need to feel just a little closer to Ireland. From the fresh Guinness draught to some Irish fusion foods, it has a little something for everyone. Went here on a Saturday and while the tours were full, we were able to enjoy some samplers, pints of Guinness and the quintessential Smith Island Cake with a Guinness infused twist. The cake was delicious and the beer highlights were the Dublin brewed Milk stout and the and the Open Gate Brewed scotch ale. Service at the bar was a bit haphazard and less than Irish standards, but enjoyed it none-the-less. Overall I also found the beers expensive for being at a brewery.
We stopped by for a lunch during St. Patrick's Day weekend, because it just felt on theme. The establishment is beautiful and it seemed they had some seasonal installations to celebrate the holiday as well. Plenty of outdoor fire pits and an area for golf. After climbing up a mountain of stairs we made it to the brewery lol. There was just so much going on inside, some people were there just to drink, others for food, and some just to walk around the factory/store areas. While the facility itself is fairly clean, the bathrooms were funky. I'm going to chalk that up to it also being a bar. Our server went missing on us and if it was for Tony, we wouldn't gotten our food or drinks. Shout out to Tony for taking excellent care of us! The heritage burger was a 5/10. The patties were definitely fresh out the freezer--no taste, and the texture was pretty bad. But the side salad as a 10. Im not sure what kind of vinaigrette was used but it was delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of beer but Tony allowed me to taste the shamrock (ginger and lime?) and beermosa (orange and grapefruit?) which were both pretty good. It's nice to know that they cater to people like myself with more custom drinks. I would have ordered a full size drink if it didn't have the beer-like aftertaste. The friend I came with ordered the shepherds fries which I thought was better than the burger, a solid 7/10. I think this place is exclusively for beer lovers. If you don't love beer, I would skip.
I really enjoyed my time here. The brewery is more than just a restaurant. It's also a cool event space and an overall nice place to just hang out on a nice day. The space is open and bright with huge windows. The food was also good. I had the beef stew and really liked it. The portions were good. I also had a beer flight, which was a nice way to try a few different flavors. The Baltimore Blonde and the Lime flavored one were my favorites. Our waitress was also super nice and helpful. I definitely plan to return with friends/family!
All of the beer was good. Service was better than i expected and shoutout to David for a great experience. The food was mediocre and we had like 6 different dishes that night. Maybe just the cook that night bc everyone kept telling me how good the food was here. Will def come again. V good gift shop unfortunately maxxed out the cards here bc you need all the cute things. I easily made a rezzie using the OT app. They only offered three flights. The two above and a cocktail one. Since we were at a beer spot, figured we should try the two beer flights. I'm not the biggest beer person, so I preferred the lager one. Lighter beers so easier to drink. Food wise, the fish and chips were delish. The egg rolls were a little too much given the ruben fusion aspect. The stew was a little salty, but a nice big portion. The pretzel was bready chewy comfort. Worth checking out. Came here for a tour and had a great experience with our tour guide Jason! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. During the first half of the tour we learned about the production process, the craft beers they make, the history of the building and Guinness marketing in the US. During the second half we enjoyed a tasting. After the tour we went back up to the bar for a beer and oysters, and there was also trivia going on that night. Overall we had a great time and were impressed with everything. We'll definitely come back the next time we're in Baltimore.
Did the brewery tour with guided tasting. The tour was interesting and the tasting was great. Jason did a great job. Afterwards we went to the bar and tried some additional beers and had oysters. The oysters were great. The variety of beer styles is amazing and all that we tried were good. This is more of a craft beer place than traditional Guinness. They have the well known Draught available but the beer made on site is all craft beer and the brewers are allowed almost complete free reign to brew anything they want if they think it will sell. Really cool concept to have the resources of a major brewery giving their people creative freedom.
Came here because of a West Point student reunion before the Army-Navy game. We ate dinner, and the food took quite a while. You order online, and our food came out in about 20 minutes or more. They delivered most of the Caesar salad but forgot the sauce, so I kept thinking it didn't taste very saucy. My sister's burger still hadn't come out, and when it finally did--about 15 minutes after everyone else's food--they brought my salad sauce too... which explained a lot. That said, the chicken was perfection. My friends got the beef stew and said it was pretty salty but still good. They also ordered the burger and said it was excellent. Unfortunately, the pretzel sauce was terrible. Overall, the food was good, but the staff could be more attentive, like refilling water more often and clearing dirty dishes. It's a nice place with tons of people and plenty of parking, even though it was very busy. Beautiful place by the way!
We stopped in here after a trip to the National Aquarium in downtown Baltimore. We weren't sure how the accessibility would be since we had a 3 month old in a stroller, but we had no issues at all! There was plenty of parking and lots of outdoor seating for when the weather gets nice;. Inside, there was a private beer tasting going on on the bottom/basement level. We took the elevator upstairs to the dining area and were able to be seated with the stroller right next to the table and a bit out of the way from the restaurant at or the dining area. The menu had lunch and dinner selections with many repeats for both mealtimes. I had the cheeseburger and thought it was great! They also make their own ketchup which I thought was innovative and tasty. The beer selection was large offering both Guinness selections and local craft beers to try. It was a busy weekend, so they were out of some beers that we wanted to try, but the waitress pointed us to some good options. The would visit her again with any sized group.
Delicious food. We had Scotch egg (delish) and the cookie flight with beer - I'm not a beer drinker but the cookies were delish and would pair well with the beer if you like beer flavor Service was attentive. We ordered off the app, which was fine and different waiters came by to just check in on us. Very cool ambiance, the outside of the building had great design and the inside had cool brewery vibes.
I was born and raised in Baltimore and was back in town for the weekend. It had been about 5 years since I'd been home, and this was my first time checking out the Open Gate Guinness Brewery. Really cool spot and huge! There's a full restaurant inside and a beer garden outside. I ate inside since I had my daughter with me. The Baltimore Blonde Ale was my favorite, crisp, light, and just easy to drink. The food was solid too. Being back in Baltimore, I had to go with the crab cake sandwich, and it didn't disappoint. Overall, great atmosphere, good food, good beer, and I left full and happy. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Baltimore!
Would recommend! The facility itself is quite large, both indoor and outdoor. There's a fun energy around the place, with background music and tons of beers to choose from. The outdoor seating is relaxed with umbrellas covering the picnic tables, useful on a slightly drizzly day or a sunny one. We ordered a flight and a couple drinks at the bar and the bartender was very helpful. Good selection of ales. The only downside is that we were celebrating with a friend from out of town and outside cupcakes/food items are not allowed. read more

Service was great. They were all friendly and fast at the bar. Ambiance was nice. There's a gift store inside. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor on the front patio with live music on busier days (im assuming). The pretzels were nice. It came with the typical mustard dip but also with queso which was nice. Crab cake sandwich had plenty of crab and no bs filling. The fries were good as well. And the caesar salad was standard. I only wish they served ciders and wine or just one of the two along with beer. Not everyone can drink beer. Plenty of free parking outfront read more
My husband and I signed up for the guided tour. We arrived early and sat at the bar. We each had a drink and shared the bangers and mash. Paid extra to have a drink on our tour, which was nice. Our tour was very informative. Learned a lot about the Guinness family. After the tour we went to a special room for tastings. My husband and I both enjoyed the tour and our tour guide. We will definitely recommend to others. read more
What a fun place! Met some friends after work, the London Lager was perfect ending to a long day! Crisp and citrusy! The beef stew intrigued me, so I ordered. It was a little disappointing - very very salty. I ended up getting the crudities and dip platter and that was much better. Great atmosphere- I'll be back! read more

the short - it's astounding to me how different your experience here can be depending on where you opt to sit. The beer is the same everywhere, but if you're going for food, I'd definitely recommend getting it from the taproom inside. details: Guinness offers a beautiful patio area and a beautiful indoor area with a bar/seating. You should definitely take advantage of the patio if available (they also have a bar outside, but with a few less taps). However, the food situation is vastly different. They have a separate menu for those who want to dine outside, but the quality of food is comparable to carnival/fair food that's quickly prepared and tossed together to vaguely resemble a plate of food. It's quite disappointing given the price they charge makes you think it's higher quality entrees. That being said, the taproom food offerings are many many times better (you can order at the indoor bar). I had the french dip the last time we visited and it was tasty and fresh. The sauce was flavorful, but not overpowering and the side of fries were crispy. The service is nearly self-service for the most part. They have a few bars you can order drinks at with stations set up to self-serve water. There's usually staff walking around that will occasionally ask you if you need anything (they're very friendly), but I wouldn't think of them as a dedicated wait staff. The ambiance is cool and gives off modern-brewery vibes while still giving touches of the classic "Guinness" feel. Guinness is definitely the place to be for corporate events, so don't be surprised if you see like 4-5 different networking events going on during your visit. The venue is large enough that this shouldn't bother you. There is a lot of space and room for a lot of people - I only imagine this being a problem in absolute peak times. Guinness is definitely a must-see experience for those visiting or if you live in the area. It's a beautiful venue with a large selection of beer and good food (if you pick the right place). Overall they have a great selection of beer, lots of different fun places to sit, a great indoor/outdoor vibe, plenty of parking, good service, and great food inside. I love that they always have some different experimental beers and offer flights. Anytime we've gotten food inside we've enjoyed it. Everything is hearty and filling. I wouldn't say it's the most balanced. I find it hard to get veggies here, but it's still delicious. The downside to me is that the food outside is not good. I would compare it to food you might get at a high school football stand and not be anywhere near the quality level you see in these pictures. There is also only a limited selection of beers outside. I love the outdoor set up, but wish they had the same food and drink options in both places. Our 2 year old is obsessed with the flat turf and that he can run free and safely. I love how spread out it is and everyone I've interacted with has been extremely friendly. My friends threw me a surprise bridal shower here years ago and the tap room felt like a great place to mix and mingle with my friends. On a Sunday it wasn't too crowded and we enjoyed the company and the drinks and food. read more

I am not a beer drinker but Guinness Open Gate Brewery had so much to offer everyone despite beverage preferences. I ordered the Pineapple Passionfruit ale which was really fruity and refreshing. Usually my go-to is a cider because it doesn't have the hoppy flavors but this was just as good. We ordered a cheese board, pretzel, and raw oysters. The others in my party loved the beer flight offerings. We stopped by the store which had so many great souvenirs ranging from beer, magnets, glasses, decor, and clothing. This may be the place we bring out of town guests when they visit! It was a very family friendly environment with tons of seating indoors and outdoors. Lion is a home brewer and a lover of stout brews. Guinness is a favorite, so it made perfect sense to visit her Open Gate Brewery for his birthday. It was worth the drive! This is the only US location for Guinness. They chose it because there are 50,000,000 people living within a four hour drive. That kind of blew my mind. We first took the tour, which was very well done. We then headed to their restaurant. Ordering was by an online app, with staff delivering food to your table. They know where you are by the QR code. The food was good, burger was very good. It was a little odd ordering the way we did though. After food we went to their gift shop area, and then out to their yard. This is an area with lots of picnic tables, bar trucks and a food truck. No cost to park or visit. There's a cost to take a tour, for food, drinks and gift items. We had a great time and will be back. read more
This is a place where you go to gather together and have some fun. Outdoors or inside with an open space - it makes a great place to gather some friends and just hang out. Their ordering system is just a great idea. You order from your phone and you pay from your phone and you tip from your phone and you are good to go. You can get your items and not having to worry about splitting the check. This place was well thought out and it makes it a no brained to come here. I'm not really a beer fan but this is my go to spot. I came back on Saint Patrick's Day and it was busy! All throughout the day, but I didn't feel like it was unnecessarily busy. This place is totally worth checking out! My wife and I finally checked it out last month with our best friend and two other friends before an Orioles game. It reminds me of a Mid-Atlantic version of St. Louis's Anheuser-Busch brewery with better beer. We believe they own the entire complex with several large buildings most of which are used for imports. They make a good number of beers here but only sell Guinness Blonde and the limited edition to take home. There is a lot of outdoor seating in their Beer Garden but it fills up and a little bit inside as well as restaurant. Luckily our friends grabbed a table or we may have been out of luck. They do tours but they book ahead of time so we did not see one that day but looked around a bit indoors and got a shirt with the Maryland flag colors on the Guinness harp from the store. My wife, our best friend, and I tried the Beer-Mosa (5 on Untappd), Coconut Lime Wheat (4.9), Sweet & Spicy IPA (4.9), Hop Exploration Series: New Zealand (4.5), & Guinness Cherry Stout #1 (4.4). For food we got the Bavarian Pretzel and Fish Tacos which were both delicious. It seems the menu has changed and they now have a Vegan Brat that we would love to try sometimes. They also have a lot of fun events like Oktoberfest and All You Can Eat Crab Fest (the latter which we can't do since we do not eat crabs). We look forward to coming back! read more
This place is so spacious and located somewhat on the outskirts of Baltimore. Surprisingly really kid friendly--I'm convinced that it's a quasi-daycare, there's a good amount of field space and kids seem to want to play over there and dance around. There's A LOT of seating space, but outdoor and indoor. We showed up on a Sunday early afternoon without a reservation and there was a lot of seating space. There are a few spots with fire pits on days that it's a little cooler but you want to seat outside. There are a good amount of beer options, I tried the dark raspberry stout which was definitely present but not overwhelming with a hint of the raspberry flavor. There's a brunch menu that was still ongoing so I opted for the wild boar flatbread (was a little sweet but mostly savory), and the biscuits and sausage gravy which I preferred/recommend if you'd like a little more of a meal along with your beer. They also had wings and we got the jerk-ish flavor which were banging. I'd recommend everything I had. This spot is super comfy and also had good music in the background as you enjoyed your day. Finally made it to the Guinness Brewery! It's a very inviting space as soon as you walk in. There's plenty of indoor and outside seating and the outdoor seating has a few fire pits to stay warm when it's cold outside. There's picnic tables and cornhole games outside as well. The beer selection is plentiful, cold and crisp! Service is good and the people are friendly. Fun place to go on a date or hang out with friends or family. read more
I was solo and still enjoyed myself, They check your ID at the gate there's an outside, inside & self-guided & guided tour...Plenty to get into. You can book the tours online or just ask when you come in. The last tour of the day is at 4:30 so I missed it but I hung out at the bar the staff was super nice & informative. Olivia working behind the bar noticed I ordered a stout and gave me 2 pours to try. They have 4 brews for Oktoberfest , I was on a time crunch but I look forward to returning ! read more

Great time celebrating New Year's Day 2025 here. Following our tour/tasting, we had a late lunch. They had brunch menu due to holiday hours. Our part had the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles; Brunch Burger and Guinness Stew. Generous portion, good food and reasonable prices. Coquito Stout was a great choice, will be returning! read more
This is a must-visit! Gorgeous facility plus the food and beer is top notch. I had the coconut lime amber, if you're like me and prefer lighter beers and not very heavy beers this is perfect. Light slightly fruit and drinkable. The pretzel is so yummy! The mustard and the cheese dip are both out of this world. The flatbread pizza is also delicious. Love the peppers plus the crab dip and peppers perfectly compliment each other. Definitely worth stopping by! read more
I am not a beer drinker bit I will dabble in the IPAs and beer that has bourbon characteristics. Guiness provides history, beer options, and elevated bar food for locals and visitors. The Guinness Tour is great. You experience Guinness's rich history and beer making process. This place is great for groups, families, locals , and beer enthusiasts. The staff are all great. I recommend trying the beers amd the tour. The seafood tower is a great dish to try. Bon Apetit. read more

We tried this place out on a small whim. It ended up being amazing. The atmosphere is really good and they place is super cute with small touches of Guinness featured throughout. We came early and they were serving brunch. We got the pretzel and it was so good!! Our service was okay, not too many complaints except we didn't get water refills. They have nice outdoor seating as well. I would definitely go back! read more
Went here with friends for a Friday evening. Great venue with a nice vibe and plenty of space. From what I hear it's pretty crowded all the time, but their is a huge patio if the weather is nice! Sit at a table, scan the QR code and then order every to your table. Drinks are there within a couple minutes and meals took about 10 min. Overall I enjoy this type of ordering because I never have to look around for any staff. Plenty of great beers on draft! We had a pretzel and wings for appetizer. Pretzel was decent, but wings were very good! (If you like them crispy). For meal we had burger, French dip, crab cake sandwich, and crab dip flatbread. All good was good, especially the fries. It really sucks that i cannot know what experimental beer on tap before I go, it's of my way and I don't want to drink and drive. Their regular IPA is it well balanced and juicy. Would be nice if they would sell it in Montgomery instead of the blonde. They changed their website and made it worse. read more

I had a good experience at this brewery. All the beers I had tasted great. They also have food if you get hungry. The brewery is huge with multiple floors and they even have a gift shop and canned beer for sale. I liked the open feel of the place and would say it's a good spot for hanging out with friends. read more

Really expensive food and very limited for the lawn service. It takes quite some time for your food to come out but service is trying to do the best they can. They auto give a 20% tip on your bill and no one checks back on you so the moment you get your food that's it. Other than that, the place seems nice and fun. There's things to do like bean bag toss and chess to play outside. A few tourist things to look at on the inside. It's fun for a big group of friends who just want to have a couple of beers and bites but come at a steep price. Not bad but not great read more

After a shop tour, I took my team to the Guinness brewery for a tour. The tour was about 45 minutes long and the tasting was about 20 minutes. We had a great time. Our tour guide was informative. I personally learned a lot about the process of making different types of beers that I did not know before. We sat down for food afterwards and got to try a lot of their menu. Unfortunately, I only got to take pictures of the 1817 burger which was fantastic. If you didn't know, this is the only Guinness brewery in America. They have a very large outdoor area and plenty of seating inside. This is definitely a good space for company events and social hours. I look forward to going back. read more
Always a good time at Guinness Open Gate. Very happy it is not closing. The pretzel with beer cheese is so yummy. The fries are also so underrated with the beer cheese as a dipping sauce - maybe something to add to the menu? The staff is always SO quick and efficient. We were starving after a hike and sat down to order food and drinks and everything came out in less than 5 minutes. Love playing the Guinness game with the glasses too - can't drink the stout any other way! I absolutely love the ambiance of the outdoor space as well. read more

Had an amazing time at the brewery. It has a nice industrial look in the inside and a tented area on the outside. There were more kids in the tented area so we opted for the inside. The tables have QR code and we ordered touchless. But before that we went to the bar and tasted a few selections. The service was fast. The food portions were pretty big. I had cherry apricot, winter warmer and ginger bread beers. My fav was the winter warmer. Pineapple and coconut stout ran out before I could order but my friends said it was very good. For food, we had mushroom flat bread , smoked salmon salad with brown bread. Mushroom flat was nice and crispy at the edges like I asked for. Brown bread was the best. It has this nice bite like rye bread but without the strong fermented taste. It was deliciously sweet. Parking was easy, plenty and free. read more
I think Guinness is a great place for any social gathering. My coworkers and I often go for happy hour and the food is good as well as the drinks. I liked the pizza and I wasn't the biggest fan of the pretzel but I think it's still a nice place. There's lots of outdoor seating and it often gets busy inside. But awesome place! read more

Is the tap room and restaurant accessible for wheelchairs?
Yes! You can access elevators behind the big staircase that leads into the bldg.
Is the beer only being served in plastic cups at the moment or is there an option to get a pint in a glass anywhere at the Brewery?
I was there today, 26 Sept, and it's all glassware. No plastic. So you can drink a proper pint.
Can you get a growler filled at the tap house?
Hi Mike, at the moment we're only filling newly purchased growlers. However, we're selling crowlers (32oz one-way cans) and have a large variety of bottles and cans available for takeaway. Cheers!
Is outdoor seating available during this time?
Yes, there was outdoor seating available, but have not heard whether they have reopened yet. They had picnic type tables with a fire pit.
Is the taproom open for food and tastings/drinks on Sunday afternoons? And if so, is it possible to make a reservation?
Both the tap room and the restaurant are open on Sundays for food but I believe only the restaurant is available for reservations
Is this place open during the week for Happy hour?
Every hour you are there is HAPPY! but sadly I an not aware of any 'Happy Hour' Specials.

Yes. I would recommend sitting outside. There are several tables outside the taproom.

There is plenty of room in the tap room plus outside seating
Is there a kids menu at the restaurant?
No, but several of the options I would def describe as kid friendly.
Do you take reservations?
No first come first served. Also, the restaurant is not open on Monday and Tuesdays
Are there TV's in any of the bar areas?

Are there any non-beer alcoholic beverages available for my friends that want to come along but can't consume beer due to allergies? Like a guest mead or cider?
I didn't see any cider but there was coke and Diet Coke.
