Not sure how I haven't reviewed GOGB yet. I've been coming here consistently since they opened. You can enjoy an educational and entertaining tour then try the wide selection of experimental and traditional brews they have on tap. Be sure to go regularly because new offerings pop up almost weekly. There is plenty of room for large parties both inside and out. You can bring the kids, as well. The parking lot is large so, although it gets packed at times, you are guaranteed to find parking. Although I come here probably more often than I should, I did have to take off a star because the food menu isn't as great as it once was. Don't get me wrong, the food is still really good, but some of the past offerings (like the crab fries & Beyond Wrap) were standouts even alongside the great beer. You can't go wrong here, though. This is a phenomenal brewery with plenty of food and dining options that pair with the beers on tap. The experimental brews are one of a kind. The place has love music which can be loud for conversations indoor but outdoor has the perfect blend to that same music with some family friendly times on the expansive area. The tables have QR code and we ordered touchless. But before that we went to the bar and tasted a few selections. The service was fast. The food portions were pretty big. I had cherry apricot, winter warmer and ginger bread beers. My fav was the winter warmer. Pineapple and coconut stout ran out before I could order but my friends said it was very good. For food, we had mushroom flat bread , smoked salmon salad with brown bread. Mushroom flat was nice and crispy at the edges like I asked for. Brown bread was the best. Awesome brewery just outside of Baltimore. I've been to the original Guinness in Dublin and feel like this location is fitting for the area. Is it as cool as the original? No way. Is it decent for this area? Yeah. Definitely recommend coming early on weekends or really nice days. There is a queue to enter and you must show ID. They then ask how many in your party and inside or outdoor seating preference . The outside courtyard is really nice and they had it all set up for fall the last time I visited (very Instagrammable!). They have brews only available at the brewery (+1 for the experimental flight!). I like that you order from your table via a QR code and someone brings your order once ready. No need for table service. Food wise, The Irish breakfast was really tasty. Loved the Guinness baked beans and malty Guinness bread. This place is fantastic. Its like a Guinness festival in the city. You can learn about the history of Guinness through various historical facts and insights into the beer-making process. The highlight is the tasting session afterwards, where I sampled a lot of beer. The bartender was excellent, recommending beers and explaining their creation. Inside, there's plenty of space, but the real fun is outside. There are picnic tables, music, lawn chairs, and games. After a shop tour, I took my team to the Guinness brewery for a tour. The tour was about 45 minutes long and the tasting was about 20 minutes. We had a great time. Our tour guide was informative. I personally learned a lot about the process of making different types of beers that I did not know before. We sat down for food afterwards and got to try a lot of their menu. Unfortunately, I only got to take pictures of the 1817 burger which was fantastic. If you didn't know, this is the only Guinness brewery in America. The fries are also so underrated with the beer cheese as a dipping sauce - maybe something to add to the menu? The staff is always SO quick and efficient. I planned a soft company outing and it all went so well. It's definitely a different service concept. But I'm into it. You scan your QR code and you can order and pay all in the app. You place your order for beer and drinks and then it just shows up at the table lol. They have options to split the bill and run a tab in the app. Food: we basically ordered everything lol the burger, a few orders of fries, the cheese board, a side of beer cheese (I mean it was sooo good) the beef stew which was also really tasty, the mashed potatoes made the entire dish, both types of wings. February 2022 - COVID Review: A great spot to visit during all the seasons! It was a chilly February day when my friends and I visited but there's luckily multiple floors of seating inside. You can either order directly from the bar (they're allowing samples as long as it's not only from a can) or from the QR code on your table. The food menu isn't super extensive and it is (not surprisingly) pricey. But the beer and drink selections are pretty numerous! The old Bay wings were cooked to perfection and the oysters were very fresh. Did you know that Guinness has a brewery in Baltimore (the only one in the States)? I didn't! I recently moved to Baltimore, and I visited the Guinness Open Gate Brewery last weekend and had a really good time! The brewery complex is enormous. There's a ton of outdoor seating, and a really large indoor area as well. When you walk up, they ask if you prefer indoor or outdoor and help you find a spot. We chose to sit inside because the food options are different inside vs. outside. The food: If you sit outside, you can order food from the food truck that is outside. It has charcuterie, a hummus platter, a pretzel, turkey leg, BBQ, and more (definitely casual food that reminds me of pubs and breweries and the fair!). The menu inside the taproom has different options: flatbreads, sandwiches, mussels, oysters, Guinness beef stew, crab cakes, and more. I tried the Chesapeake crab cake sandwich (with Old Bay aioli, lettuce, cole slaw, and lemon and served with barrel cut fries), which was good - and I'm not usually that into fries but these were awesome. But now for the beer! Yes, they have the traditional Guinness! But this location is an experimental Guinness taproom, where they brew new and exciting things and test them out. It was a hot summer day, so I stuck with lighter options - including their Guinness Baltimore Blonde (which I really enjoyed). Even people who aren't very into traditional Guinness? They'll have interesting beers to try and enjoy at this brewery. All the ordering happens via their website, so it's pretty easy and quick. But the service was still great. We hovered until they almost closed, and one of the staff came by and reminded us they were closing soon so we could run in and use the bathroom before the drive home, which was so nice. The food was good, the beer was good, the service was good, and the property is amazing. They have free movie nights in the summer on Thursday nights, which seems so fun. They also offer tours, and I hope to do that next time I'm at the brewery. This was my first visit, but I'm sure there will be more. I had a great time. read more

The country's only Guinness brewery is just outside of Baltimore, a 35-minute drive from Washington, D.C. Being outside of a city, and not within it, gives Guinness space and lots of it. The brewery is a campus with a beer hall with seating, a store and tours. Outside is a 1.2 patio set up for social distancing during the pandemic. My house went on St. Patrick's Day weekend, a bad choice given the hour-long wait to get inside. Once inside the gates, after your I.D. checked, the wait for beer and food wasn't long at all. We scanned the QR code on our picnic table on the patio and within minutes our beer came out followed by our food. The Guinness menu is pretty big and has options for all types of preferences. I prefer sour ale and the salt and line beer was a good alternative. It was tasty! The food menu tries to incorporate beer into the recipe when they can. Every doughnut includes beer mixed in. The reuben sandwich, burgers and brats were great! Our toddler (yes, it's very kid friendly) got chicken strips and fries. The portions are big. They also had live music when we went! read more

We popped in here on a whim after a long hike. We didn't know there was an event, Oktoberfest. You had to check in and show ID. We were advised to check in with the hostess. We were advised if we wanted to sit outdoors, the wait time will be 30 min or more, but was advised there was no waiting for indoor seating. So we decided to eat indoors. We went to the hostess stand to check in and be seated. We were escorted to a table and was advised of their order/menu instructions. You pretty much had to scan the barcode for the menu to order everything, food, drink, and even to-go boxes and utensils. The process was a bit confusing, but we managed. Hubby ordered the the Oktoberfest beer mug, while I had the unsweetened iced tea. For food hubby had the bratwurst meal (sorry could not find the name of it) and I had the Chesapeake Shrimp Roll. Everything was good to our satisfaction, but there are no free refills on beverages including water. The dessert was good too, not overly sweet and worth trying. We chose this place because we like their products and were curious about the venue. Everyplace is very noisy between the hardscape inside and out, loud piped in music alternating with a band seeming to do endless warm-ups on the first-floor level. The beer selection was good, food was quite plain, nothing outstanding or very good. It was a very unpleasant experience due to the rude and poor service at the brewery. The waiter was hostile and initially took some drink orders (not everyone's) and did not return for over 20 minutes although he had been hailed, made eye contact and clearly understood we wanted his attention. When he finally did come to the table, he began yelling at us accusing us of yelling at him, stating he was busy although he was seen loafing behind the bar eating and drinking. He did not wash his hands after that and began waiting on other tables. The manager was requested and proceeded to lecture us about how they had to "take care of the staff " and not to "yell at the staff because I have to take care of them." The manger did agree that the noise level was loud (98 decibels by the app on my phone), did not offer an apology and was not interested in why we waited so long for the waiter to return and his untoward behavior or overall quality of service.
