We went tonight for dinner, it was not busy, but service was slow. The food was terrible. Both of my kids ended up with diarrhea and had tummy aches. I'm guessing it may have been the chicken. I only took one bite of my burger, I got a veggie burger. It was honestly terrible. I'm not sure what it even was. The fries were hard and tastes stale like they had been sitting for a while. My daughter said the chicken tasted bad but I told her to just please eat some. My son refused to take more than two bites because he too said the chicken was gross and he's 5 and always eats chicken strips. This place is not what it was when I was younger. Only came as we were in the neighborhood and I was hoping for a nostalgic dinner. Instead I got two kids with tummy problems and we still need to have dinner. Waste of time and money. read more

Our waitress was a kind hearted bubbly gal and made the experience so nice. Our kids were wild and she reassured us this was a place meant for kids - she got them hoola hoops and showed them how to make milkshakes. I was expecting chicken tenders and corn dogs to be pre-packaged frozen quality but they both seemed like they were made to order and tasted above what I was expecting. Stopped in at the Littleton location around 5:00 for breakfast at dinner, set down got a cup of water and set for 20 minutes with no one coming by to take my order, I couldn't even get anyone's attention. Finally when I got up to leave and complain the manager offered to take my order. First off asked for pickle chips and they gave us pickle spheres. Said we ordered the chips and first says we don't have those anymore and then goes ahead and looks at the menu where it is listed. Then the cook rolls his eyes bc he has to make what is on the menu. Finally received these average. I ordered a chicken Cesar wrap and received a chicken Cesar salad. The lettuce was old tasting just hiding its flavor bc of all the dressing. Actually thank you for getting my order wrong so I didn't have to eat that ill lettuce. They acted like they didn't have enough help when there was 5 waitress. If you haven't notice I will never go back and I hope they get a health inspection there soon. read more

I just had the most wonderful and friendly experience at this fun little restaurant. I have not darkened the door of a Gunther Toody's in fifteen years or more. After this experience , I have no idea why it's been that long. We had the most personable and incredible server named "Sandy D" which I thought was hilarious in a fifties diner. I figured there was no way such a coincidence could happen and I was right. Our servers name was actually Molly. I felt like I had known her for years and her fun and lighthearted style made a great meal even better. I looked forward to her making around to our table just to joke with her. I sure hope this diner knows what they have in such employees. On Wednesday's, they do a deal where if you buy a burger and a drink, you get the second burger for a dollar. That's a great deal and what we did. The green chili burger was incredible as was the sautéed onion patty melt. The fried mushrooms and fried pickles were incredible. I had a cherry lime aid that knocked my socks off. The entire experience was top shelf from the time was walked in until the time we left. House shopping makes me hungry and thirsty. The building is bright and clean and I LOVE the fifties decor. Plenty of close in parking and it's in a very nice area of town. Stop in and have a burger. Ask for Molly's area. I'll admit that I was not a big fan of Gunther Toody's when they came out a decade or so ago, but my last visit reminded me how I do like the simple nature of diner food. Located near a strip mall in Littleton, this location has seen a series of booms and now busts in the restaurant business for this area. Adorning the 60's style motif, this location still has the motorcycles and some remnants of the booth stationed coin operated music players. Ordered a couple burgers which were delivered quickly along with our sodas. The burgers were good, crispy bacon, toasted bun, and ours with a generous helping of grilled mushrooms really hit the spot. Its a place I meet my adult sons for fun. The nostalgic music brings back memories of their grandparents . The food is no nonsense and tasty. The service is friendly . I think their Belgium waffles are the best in town, but that's just my opinion. I'm picky when it comes to waffles. read more

I love the decor but the food was equally nostalgic. Very nice breakfast items (hashbrowns done RIGHT for a change). The burgers are the personification of a drive in. Nicely cooked with fresh toppings. The malted milk shake was excellent too and made me break my diet. Onion rings done right and the 1920's cartoons on the monitors - I love those things! My husband and neighbor go every week after golf. My husband wears VERY GOOFY golfing clothes and the staff get a kick out of his golf outfits. They order breakfast, drink tea. Laugh and chat with the staff. I've never heard a complaint about a meal. Recently, my daughter, grandson and myself joined in. What an adorable restaurant. Makes you feel right at home. The staff was lovely, she took our orders and quickly brought our food. It was perfect. No complaints from any of us. We all laughed and enjoyed our meals. My grandson smiled and ate!! I really hate to do this as I have always been a huge Gunther Toody's fan especially for breakfast, but our last visit here left a lot to be desired to say the least. Recently, after church we decided on breakfast and we hadn't been here in the longest time. Pre Covid, on the weekends and after church there was always a huge wait time. Sadly, we walked right in and were able to sit right down. It wasn't very busy which made what happened even more strange. We waited awhile for a server to come take our order even though there wasn't many patrons and there seemed to be several staff milling around and talking and joking among themselves. We placed our orders and then again proceeded to wait and wait. I then saw a breakfast burrito go up into the window and assumed (correctly) that it was mine. It sat there, sat there, sat there for at least 10 minutes. Finally, after about a 45 minute wait our food was brought to our table. My burrito had good flavor but was stone cold. My husband's breakfast was frankly an embarrassment to the restaurant. His eggs weren't cooked as he ordered them and his hash brown potatoes were literally barely cooked, almost raw. Hash browns should be crispy and crunchy, these were limp and cold. They couldn't have been on the griddle for more than 2 minutes at the most. It was shockingly bad. I know this is probably Covid related, and that's a shame. But it was so bad I don't see us returning anytime soon. So sad. read more

Nostalgia took over as we decided to eat here since I fondly remember the many fun meals at the leetsdale location. But it's not good. Sometimes memories should stay memories. We were greeted and sat right away but that was where the good service stopped. It took a while for the server to get to us. I watched her pick something up from the serving counter by the kitchen and put it onto a customer's order. The. She scratched her head and pulled her mask down. I'm ok with no mask. But if you're going to wear it, wear it when you're handling food. Finally took our order with lackluster enthusiasm. Meanwhile, there were other servers who were talking and clowning around. I ordered a fish and chips and he ordered a burger. Passed on the choc shake I wanted as I didn't want to prolong the experience. The food took ages to come and when it came it was a average. The fish was oily and bland. Fries and Tater tots were ok. For the price I'd say go somewhere else. Gone are the days of friendly 60's vibe and good food. Bathroom clean so there's that. I had the opportunity to go here this last week. I have been coming here ever since I was a kid. The staff is still great as it always has been. The building, though, could do for an update. It still has a 50s theme and feeling but everything Seems to be losing its luster. The food is what you'd expect considering the prices. I'm just so glad that this restaurant was able to make its way through Covid. It wasn't busy enough on a Saturday so it makes me concerned. Good food came hot, just the way we wanted it. They offer flavored coffee creamers. I was able to get my egg whites only and they were cooked perfectly. The three of us had something different and all were great. Our service was very good, the server was very much on top of anything and watched over our refills. The ambiance was very 50's with two full size motorcycles in the middle on both sides. We appreciated they too offered military discount to us. Ordered four burgers with fries and onion rings to go today. The burgers were all ordered medium-rare and all came out extra-well done. Extras that were ordered (and paid for) on a couple of the burgers, like bacon and guacamole, were completely missing. The fries and onion rings were severely underdone. It was all pretty nasty. $100 for 4 barely edible meals is crazy. Would've been better off going to McDonalds. Yuck. We've gone to this location for decades but this will be the last time for us. read more
