Very good STL staple. I like their choices, and the value is very good too. It's a great place for pretzel lovers!! Please go and please take a bunch! And use lots of sauce !

Classic 3-stick bag. Oops. One didn't make it intact to the photo.

Known for its fresh pretzels, Gus' also has deli sandwiches and pretzel wrapped sausages (bratwurst, hotdogs, etc.).

Checked out Gus' Pretzels on a Saturday morning and had no wait! We got to see them making the pretzels in the back and read about the history while we waited for our order. The single pretzel sticks came room temp but the bratwurst pretzels were nice and hot. A very good experience!

okay so this was first time at gus' and i had really really really high expectations. we went 45 minutes before close and the pretzels we got were pretty hard. similar to a mickey pretzel i lowkey think auntie ann's or wetzels is better... i am willing to give gus' another try during the day. their prices is what's making me come back. i got the 15 count endz and my bestie got a brat wurst for $7 i will say the workers were really sweet and super efficient. there was a line of at least 10 people and they effectively took orders while serving people i will say the area gus' is located in is a little sketch

I got stick pretzels and cinnamon sugar twist pretzels. You want to heat them up for a few seconds before you eat them so they get soft and easier to chew. The cinnamon sugar dough seems different than the sticks. Visually it looks like they use wheat flour because the pretzels have a denser consistency which I do not prefer. The stick pretzels are Awesome and they're worth the drive from Manchester. Cinnamon sugar pretzels- 3 Traditional stick pretzels- 5 There was a line when I arrived around 11am and there was a line when I left. They have a small parking lot behind the building. Courteous lady waited on me.

I came to Gus' Pretzels right as they were closing today and it still seemed to be busy and poppin! I have been craving fresh pretzels for a while and decided to finally come here. I ordered a pretzel stick, pretzel ends, and got their spicy brown mustard sauce and cheese sauce to dip. Once I got home I warmed up the pretzels for 30 seconds and everything tasted so good. The pretzels were warm and fluffy and the sauces complemented the pretzels perfectly! I also bought 10 of the frozen pretzel twists which are ready to bake and I plan on making them if I have friends over or just want a warm snack! For the price that you get for these pretzels, it just can't be beat! I would come back for sure

Review Visit: November 7th, 2018A delicious pit stop in the city with the famous Arch. On a previous visit to St. Louis, I came across Gus' and tried to stop in for a quick pretzel before a concert. Sadly, it happened to be the one day they were closed. Fast forward two years and I drive by Gus' while on the way to The Mud House and see that they are open! I made a mental note to swing by after getting my caffeine buzz. It was a nice day out, so I parked a little before Gus' to enjoy a nice walk before getting some food. I noticed there was a small parking lot next to Gus' that would allow maybe 4-6 cars to be parked there. Along the street, there is some parking as well. So, if you go during a busy time, parking may be a bit of a chore. Upon going inside, I quickly noticed that you could watch a machine and a worker make the pretzels. I find these to be fascinating to watch, as it gives you a sneak peek behind the scenes. There is another place in St. Louis that lets you watch soda being bottled. That place is called Fitz's over on Delmar. Snapping out of the trance of watching the assembly of pretzels being made, I hopped in line and poured over the menu. There is a $5 minimum to use a card and I only had $2 in cash on me, so my options were limited. I settled on a Cinnamon Sugar pretzel once it was my turn to order. There is no inside seating, so this place is definitely a grab-n-go kind of place. Since I didn't want to get cinnamon sugar all over my car, I managed to find seating across the street at a restaurant that provided chairs and tables outside. This means my car stayed pretzel-mess clean! How was the pretzel? It was pretty okay. The cinnamon was more of a heavy paste with thick chunks of cinnamon and sugar. It was almost too sweet for my taste. Delicious still, but very sweet. I think my glucose levels went up 100 points by the time I was finished with. The pretzel base itself was alright. It didn't wow me with a ton of flavor but it also didn't leave me unsatisfied. The menu also had some quick-grab items on top of pretzels. Brats, hot dogs, something called salsicca and a few other strangely named things. Like, what is a Ted Drewes? I may have to go back and find out firsthand. Gus' was packed with workers and people grabbing lunch, so their food menu beyond pretzels must be amazing. What will a pocket full of change get you in a big city? If you are in St. Louis, it can get you some pretzel sticks and sticky fingers. If you have a bit more in your wallet, you can order a full lunch to satisfy your hunger.

I'm so glad we found this spot! We heard about Gus' in a STL guide and it did not disappoint. The pretzels were great and very reasonably priced. I would caution you not to over order because they are definitely not as good leftover. Service was quick. Easy to find street parking when we visited during the day. Great little spot to grab a snack!

Gus' has great pretzels, but make sure you have them warm and fresh! I got the pretzel sandwich which had a fresh and soft pretzel, fresh carved turkey, and it was nice and cheesy! And only $4!! Crazy The service was super quick and nice ! Thanks for the midday treat :)

Stopped into Gus Pretzels today for a snack. They have great prices, and yummy pretzels. I loved the authentic old building and they have a window in hallway to see pretzels being made. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

My in laws brought me to Gus' pretzels & Ted Drewes when they were trying to convince us to move here. It was definitely a huge motivator! All my family has fallen in love with it too and it's become tradition to stop here when they fly in and then before they fly out. Delicious the salsiccia is the best- like a spicy brat. The kids all love the cinnamon sugar bites or pretzels. Quick service friendly people

Since this place is such a staple, we figured we had to give it a try. The place was absolutely packed, which clearly shows it's a local favorite. Even with how busy they were, our pickup order was ready on time -- actually before the scheduled pickup since I arrived about five minutes early. The atmosphere definitely had that classic local sandwich shack vibe and seemed like it would make a great casual lunch spot for almost any occasion. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't live up to the reputation for us. We ordered the hot salami sandwiches, which they're known for, but they were extremely greasy and the only flavors that really stood out were mustard and grease. We expected a lot more flavor and balance considering it's their specialty item. We also placed a large luncheon order of 10 sandwiches. Everyone was satisfied overall and the food was decent enough, but nothing really stood out or made us excited to come back. We personally prefer Adriana's for both flavor and overall quality. One of the biggest disappointments was that none of the sandwiches had cheese on them, even though we paid an extra $2 per sandwich for the garlic cheese bread upgrade. That was frustrating considering the additional charge. Honestly, I'm guessing we may have just caught them on an off day because it's obvious this spot has a loyal following. We still appreciate supporting local STL businesses and can understand why so many people love it -- it just wasn't quite the experience we were expecting.

Finding a good spot for sandwiches is hard especially since my husband is a former "sandwich…read moreartist" from his college days, lol. But after an intense Costco trip, we were wanting a hearty sandwich. They are located in a strip mall, where they are many other busy businesses so parking can be a little tough. But going in, they were packed! Tip to tail, it was just people trying to get their food. And, that was us waiting a while to come in to pick up our goods. So, absolutely order ahead because it will make it somewhat easier. We ordered: The JD Cold Shoulder - cold cuts on a garlic roll with chipotle ranch. My husband loved his, and glad he ordered it with the garlic roll. Joe's Spicy Italian - this was spicy and sweet, and it really hits when you love a good spicy italian sandwich. You can choose your bread, and I opted for mine to be on a French roll. Great sandwiches, long wait, but just really good and worth the wait!

I stopped in with coworkers today and it was wonderful. I sat and tried to pick the perfect sandwich, but when I got up to order, I couldn't make up my mind. Well, they were kind enough to "surprise me." Yes, that's an option! My sandwich was spicy, sweet, saucy and delicious. My four "must haves" when it comes to a sandwich. I love to overindulge on a good sub. The people that worked here were awesome and super friendly! The customers were even kind and friendly to one another. I highly suggest trying this place SOON! **my one caveat is that it is a bit pricey, but my coworkers and I all agreed, it's well worth the money!!**
